No it doesn’t. Just like I doubt Osborne wins a national title at Colorado..
Unless they give him more than 4 downs in a game..
Scarlet, you and I go way back in Husker football.
Two things. In 1976 Osborne said if NU had not beaten Texas Tech in the Bluebonnet Bowl he would have been fired.
In 1978 Osborne went to Colorado and was offered the job and decided to stay at NU.
I believe, without question, if Osborne had coached there 15 years they would have won 2-3 national titles.
I believe had Tom taken the Colorado job, Nebraska's LAST national title would have been in 1971.
He was a great coach, not infallable in terms of player issues, but I would not have relished the Huskers under Solich having to play a Tom Osborne coached Colorado team after Osborne had been there 2-3 years.
There's no comparison between Osborne and Solich. I liked Frank as a player, as a RB coach, but not as a head man.
Being "special" like Saban, Meyer, Osborne is rare. Different personalities, different offenses, different issues with players. But, you just don't want to play one of their teams when the money is on the line.
I'm not taking into account the fact that Saban and Meyer are considered pricks, and Tom is considered a nice guy. You have those 3 guys interchange with each other's teams, and you likely get the same results.
