I know/knew very little about monken. While at Georgia Tech not only was he the RB coach he was also special teams coordinator. Looked at their stats when Georgia Southern played Alabama, special teams yardage was toe to toe with Alabama. FYI

I think he will spend the rest of his coaching career at IL as long as he gets them to bowl games on a regular basis.

Bielema is a great fit for a Big Ten West school and will have IL competing for the division title sooner than later, IMO. He's going to take what he ran at Wisconsin and put it in at IL.
I think a good AD would want a list that includes all coaches who would be a great fit, regardless of whether they are likely to accept an offer. You never know if someone like Bielema would accept an offer if he were offered the right amount of money.

Says a bunch of cow farmers. How laughable. I have been to Lincoln for a game.
73 percent of Nebraskans live in urban areas. That number is 46 percent in WV, which is one of the most beautiful places in the world, just not all that sophisticated. Of course, I live in Iowa, so I question my own intelligence and sanity every day.

I need to move up Jeff Monken's spot on this list and move down Gus. Gus is getting too cute in his last few years.

I lived in WV for 7 years. Lewisburg is wonderful.

No way these two come here (other than to beat us while SF is HC). They have it made at their respective schools and it would be a lateral move or a move down even. Rarely does a HC take another job in conference.

PJ Fleck - Minnesota
Tom Allen - IU

I think you go after Chris Petersen hard and see what it would take to get him. My only concern is I think he brought his old Boise staff to UW, and a lot of those guys are still there

The folks that argued against PJ Fleck not to be on the list are right in the end. While he made Ohio State earn it tonight, this is the type of stat that shows Minnesota will lose games.

MN is giving up nearly 20 yards a play on defense in the second half. That is very bad football.

I think Fickel would be a great hire. I like what I see of Leonard and I'd take Brent V in a heartbeat.

I think we should get Kiffin and just burn the program down in a massive display of bananas drama. Even require Lane rekindle the flame with Layla only to break her heart again by porking waitresses at Gate 25 live-streamed on Facebook

Last nights games....

Jamey Chadwell - the team had over 600 yards of offense. They passed a lot more than I am comfortable with at Nebraska. But they had no issue moving the ball through the air or on the ground. I do like his schemes on offense though. They are not what is ran by any other team in the Big Ten. The concern is that his team could be even better than they showed last night. They clearly run better schemes, but he may struggle at first at the higher level until he makes adjustment.

I still like the guy, just not in the very top group yet.

Gus Malzahn. He ran the ball 48 times against Boise State. Won in overtime. His team started slow but started to take over the game in the second half. Tends to get a bit too cute at times.

From last night, I feel Gus is still very high on the board, but should probably be behind a Jeff Monken.

PJ Fleck - the guy can coach to a point on offense, but his defense is not making the improvements needed to win the big games. Last night they gave up an average of 18 yards per play and he tried to ride his RB to a victory or at least a close game and ended up costing his star RB. You know what you will see on the field with PJ Fleck, but there are better coaches out there that Nebraska can get. For MN is a good coach for them.

If Brett venables was going to be a head coach don't you think he would have done it like 20 years ago? He makes head coach money

How about Troy Calhoun from Air Force?

Seems like similar makeup of the other triple option service academy coaches, yet incorporates a little more spread formation and clever passe passing game stemming from the run game.

Let's shamelessly take Leonhard from Wisconsin and copy their system. They got it from us so who cares?
I like this idea. but he's probably a Manchurian Alvarez Candidate (a la Eichorst), and will destroy us from the inside out.

He's lost the Armed Forces to Jeff Munken. Better off hiring the guy that wins the Armed Forces vs the one that doesn't since the systems are not all that much diffferent.
