I like Jamey Chadwell just because I'm certain Fikell nor Campbell would desire to come here. Chadwell runs an awesome spread triple option attack that should work very very well here
Could you explain the CC offense a bit more? I had heard they’re a triple option team before then checked the stats and their run/pass ratio is identical to ours. I expected much heavier toward the run.

Lance Leipold with a "statement win" tonight for his career. A month of practices and no wins the last 677 days and he ends the losing streak with a win. I know it's just South Dakota, but it's more of the trend of how is career has gone....won titles at a lower level, won at Buffalo, took the Kansas job and won a game with a roster that wouldn't even win the FCS title.

The inventor of actual said offense in Paul Johnson ran such a trick in the ACC at Georgia Tech.

Hell, surprised some Husker fans aren't clamoring for him as the call for his prowess was fairly large not that many moons ago. While he had some early success, it became too easy for teams to defend on a year in and year out basis in conference and he was canned in 2018 after consecutive 1, 4, 4, and 5 wins seasons.
I haven’t watched a minute of Coastal Carolina football but by looking at the stats I can confidently say they don’t run the Paul Johnson offense.

In Johnson’s final year at GT, his team threw nine times a game for 84 yards and ran 57 times for 325.

CC last year threw 24 times a game for 232 yards and ran 43 times for 218. Pretty similar balance to Nebraska actually.

So true. USD was picked 8/11 in the Missouri Valley. So to say they would struggle to win an FCS title would be an understatement. Finish in the top half of the MVC would be expected!

The O line for Kansas is the worst I’ve seen at the Power 5 level. Don’t see them winning another game. Tough for Leipold to take that job in May. Probably could have used a few more transfers.

Shotgun spread option with pulling lineman, inside and outside zones, QB reads a defender and hit vertical with the passing game.

Every head coaching job he has had has been a rebuild.

In the end, it's not much different than what Jeff Monken runs, just the formations are different. In Jamey's formations, the RB will lineup next to the QB and they will have another RB commonly lined up in a pistol formation spot with variations of that. It's a pretty simplistic system. If you compare it to Jeff's offense, the main difference is how Jeff uses the fullback.

More than just the formations are different. Army runs 91% of the time compared to CC at 64%. Massive discrepancy there and totally different to defend.

Games today for guys on this list...

Colgate at Boston College at 11am CT.
Stanford vs Kansas State at 11am CT. This is the game that I am going to pay attention to.
Army at Georgia State at 11am CT.
Northern Iowa at Iowa state at 3:30pm CT
Lousiana vs Texas at 3:30 pm CT
Campbell at Liberty at 5pm CT. Is Campbell still coached by a former Nebraska player? Minter I think it is?

antirowtheboat, I don’t know why Kleiman would be any different than hiring Bohl..

I’m not against the idea, I just don’t see Alberts going that direction despite the fact he has beaten OU twice..

Biased towards Monken, as I was a huge Paul Johnson fan. Johnson's difficulty at GT wasn't that his offense wasn't effective. It was very effective and more explosive than you might think. The issue became that his defenses were simply awful...if Monken could put forward a competent P5 defense, we'd be in business.

It’s been said, but to me finding a solid coach is almost the easy part. Finding a solid coach who can recruit the right players is where things get hard.
We need that combo of good coach who can get good players. I’m not certain who fits that best.

Didn’t Joe Moglia rebuild Coastal Carolina? I thought Moglia left the program in really good shape for Chadwell.

With that said, I don’t see Chadwell leaving the South. He will wait for an SEC or ACC job. After the way Frost and his offense flopped here, I don’t see Chadwell taking the Nebraska job. A lot of young coaches will think, if Scott Frost can’t win at Nebraska, why would I take that job?

I expect that to be the case. Same with Napier.

I voted for Jeff Monken. His players play hard, sound fundamentals, and runs a system that has proven to win at Nebraska.

Mike Singletary.....mainly for the press conferences and sideline interviews. Love that guy. He would have chewed Martinez's *** all the way to the locker room while the play was still going on after that fumble then handed him the paperwork to enter the portal at half time.

Jamey Chadwell is a great coach and person. He is my top pick. As far as people saying he wont come here as he is a southern guy, I say 5 million still lets you be a southern guy, you just live in the north.

Kleiman and Jeff Monken both with good wins today. There was no doubt after two quarters in either of those games. Both coaches had their teams winning the LOS.

I say pay very close attention to both of these guys. Lance will lose a ton of games at Kansas this season even though he is a damn good coach.

I think Chadwell will wait until the Tennessee job opens up again. That’s his dream job and he was disappointed he didn’t get it this year. But that job tends to open up every few years, so he might not have to wait that long for another chance.

Matt Campbell and the Clones are struggling against UNI so far. Down 7-3 late in the first half.
