The biggest disconnect between NY and DC is Cuomo wants the feds to release the stockpile of ventilators to them now and not rely on businesses to produce new units in a rapid amount of time.
I completely understand Cuomo's position, and somewhat agree with him, but I also understand the desire to hold onto those ventilators a little longer.

Do you hear Cuomo emphasizing there is no cost one can place on a human life and NOT to sacrifice old people or the general public in favor of the economy? That is total opposite of Trump. Saying it isn't is 100% dishonest.

Field Hospitals being built right now. Other facilities converted to hospitals already. Navy Ships in route. Pence just said natiional stock pile of ventilators are going to be released. Companies are building more right now. Once all this is in place then different steps can be put in place. Cumou said that. Trump has said that. It's going to get worse before it gets better but we are in a better place now that more data has been collected over the Task Force 15 day guidelines.

People need to come with terms with the fact that this virus WILL spread, EVERYWHERE. The only thing we can hope to accomplish is 1) slow the spread, 2) the virus slowly mutates itself out of existence, 3) treatments can be found to minimize the impact.
Thought you was going to support your President during this national crisis ? No matter what people are going to die. We have have taking steps over the past weeks to keep those numbers as low as possible. Directing your anger toward Wuhan and what the CCP and it's enablers allowed to happen would be time better spent right now.
Exactly we were not as prepared weeks ago. No one around the world was. Thanks CCP and it's enablers. We will be much better prepared in two weeks to make better decisions because more data is coming in.

Andrew Cuomo has been governor since 2011. In 2015 Cuomo decided not to buy the 16,000 additional ventilators recommended to the state in case of a pandemic . Instead he commissioned a group to come up with guidelines as to how ventilators would be rationed if such a pandemic were to occur.
That task force came up with rules that will be imposed when ventilators run short. Patients assigned a red code will have the highest access, and other patients will be assigned green, yellow or blue (the worst) depending on a "triage officer's" decision.
The Federal government is not responsible for buying ventilators for New York.
