Carlton Bragg arrested

Still no word on details---nobody knows if this was just a fight bt guys or something that involves a woman. Any way you slice it, its a terrible situation for Bragg. In my mind one is excusable, one isn't. Often times folks are arrested and a charge of "domestic battery" is requested. Officers do this as a matter of policy so that feuding parties are separated for the night. When it all settles down, what typically comes is a "disorderly conduct" charge. "Brawling and fighting" is one of the definitions of disorderly conduct. It is also disorderly to be loud, profane, etc. Thus, many domestic disturbances start with a "domestic battery" arrest and detention that quickly settles down to a simple "disorderly conduct" or nothing at all. If it involved roughing up a GF in anyway other than arguing---he might have ruined his career. Carlton really really doesn't fit the profile----here's to hoping he isn't that dumb. If he does happen to be a huge dish*t-----than Kansas and Self have a duty to penalize him severely.

Still in the pokey without bail instead of released on his own recognizance or bailed out by a family member, friend or KU would seem to nullify the brunt of your argument.

The Kansas City media & Kansas fans act as though Self walks on water & runs the cleanest program in college basketball. Of course that is a complete lie. Self consistently recruits thugs & kids that other schools can't or won't take. He bends & breaks every rule cause no one will seriously investigate the piece of crap. Self is the dirtiest, most unethcal, & biggest dirtbag in all of the sport.

I'd disagree. One of the reasons I have come to respect Self is how he handles these types of situations compared to many other coaches like Pitino. Self has kicked 3 or 4 starters off his teams in various years for legal issues like this. I think one was a domestic battery case involving a girlfriend, so if that is what Bragg did here then he may have just played his last game in Lawrence.

I also recall Self suspended another starter back in 2011 I think for an entire semester for drunk driving, which I don't see any other coach doing, including Cal with Willis.

Bottom line is regardless of what you think of the fan base, Self earns my respect for some of these decisions which show he is capable of looking beyond just winning, and doing what is right. Plenty of other programs out there who turn a blind eye all the time.

Willis was charged with drunk driving? Must have missed that.

Ha, I guess you are correct, but we were all in college once. I think most of us are rationale enough to understand he didn't just go buy a 24 pack of banquet beer sober, decided to safely pull over on a random side of the road so that he could just start drinking until he passed out.

Don't think it was characteristic of him though and everyone makes mistakes. Just depending on how big a mistake depends on what sort of leniency you get.

If Bragg beat up a girl then I'd instantly lose respect for Self if he doesn't send the kid packing.

Nothing about this post indicates that you went to college.

Wasn't really making an argument. Just said they hadn't released any details on whom it involved or what the actual situation was. One is bad, the other unacceptable.

There are many circumstances that many of the athletes have to deal with. Having said that, Willis has learned from his mistake but it wasn't a charge of battery. Need I say more?

I dont care what the situation is... I'm still gonna make fun of KU for it.

No matter what happens... I do hope Bragg learns a lesson and strives to be a good person. Everyone makes mistakes ..some far worse than others.

That being said........ KU has had way too much sh*t go down the last 10 years not to make fun of them.

Pretty sure it came out that his girlfriend was the driver that night.
