People have been bashing Sharpe for weeks for being a mercenary. Go read the posts about how we want KENTUCKY players, players who are program first, etc. Now, people are screaming, "We want mercenaries!"
Interpretation: “We shot our wad on the Big O.”
My point isn't that this is right or wrong. My point is that posters have screamed about only wanting players who WANT to be AT UK and not go pro or use UK as a stepping stone are now screaming that they want mercenaries! This is pure entertainment!
They just want the opposite of what they have. I'm pretty sure these people just want something to complain about at this point.
I never bashed him for being a mercenary. Mercenaries typically are known for performing a TASK for money. Sharpe did nothing. That's even worse. Sharpe was a free rider.
As far as Cal, why are you supporting him in this? He's literally refusing to take advantage of the rules and UK's prestige to get the best players.
The only thing I can think of is that Mitch came to Cal about Sharpe and said "No mas."

See, this is a prime example of hater hypocrisy. Pissing and moaning about NBA mentality then little drama queens when KY doesn’t bend the knee to NIL beggars.
Cal is doing the right thing. One of the few coaches in the business with the guts to do so. Players are supposed to retain their own NIL deals. Schools are not supposed offer nor negotiate on behalf of the athletes.

My point was all you guys are mad because you say Sharpe held Cal hostage. Now Cal says he won’t deal with players that demand deal before even getting here. You should be happy about that. It’s what you wanted him to do.
That will be termination worthy. UK has more money that most. He doesn’t want to play the game? Time to hang it up.
Maybe Mitch is thinking about saving every penny to pay for Cal's buyout next year.
All that does is show that Cal is two-faced and that there was an even bigger, deeper reason for the Sharpe debacle. Cal's behavior is inconsistent. And I don't see people advocating for being held hostage. But Cal is unwilling to negotiate at all? That smacks of MITCH.
