Many years ago, after myself playing in high school and college, I helped coach a MIDDLE SCHOOL girls team. Even we ran plays, worked on defense and shooting, etc. I wasn't that great, but I could probably do as good, or better, than Cal has done. And that is NOT bragging on myself, but just how BAD he is.
I don't doubt it one bit Susan.

Recall it well , in fact I discussed the event with people who were actually there 2 weeks ago at my home . They reported a far different reality than what was reported by MSNBC , CNN, ABC , CBS , NBC , MSN , and most other liberal outlets . Their video of the event showed a different story

Excellent! Spot on too. College basketball has passed Calipari by and we need to wake up before the UK program is reduced to IU status. We will most likely surrender the alltime wins lead in this tournament or very early next season. Apparently, at least one current high profile commit is wavering. Calipari has no interest in updating his offense, calling timeouts or any of the little things that win championships. You either lead, follow or get left behind!

Months ago Nike started positioning few to be the new face of college basketball and the one to inherit golden child status. He went from coaching a bunch of cohesive over achievers to suddenly coaching for usa basketball and simultaneously getting insanely highly touted guys.

Remember....Nike runs USA basketball and most every coach associated with it was magically getting incredible recruits.

The only real question is will few stay at Gonzaga or just transition to Duke?
The good of this is that Nike may not be icing UK, but Cal. We are still a valuable brand. We get rid of Cal and the recruits start coming back our way?

The CBS halftime crew was just asking the question of who would carry the torch for leading the coaching fraternity going forward now that coach K is retiring. Pictures of the following coaches were put up, Coach Cal, Jay Wright, Mark Few, Bill Self, Tom Izzy and I believe one other. Both Mark Few and Jay Wright were suggested as being most likely to carry the mantle as top coach. The others were mentioned as less likely contenders. Clark Kellogg even mentioned new head coach for Duke Jon Schyer as a possibility. Coach Cal was the only one to get no mention at all, even though he was shown as the coach with the most overall wins.
I will say this in Cal’s defense. Everyone knows their is jealousy and animosity towards UK basketball, which Coach Cal no doubt brings on, as a result of his ego and arrogance. Still very strange that a Hall of Fane Coach got no mention as being mentioned, as the top coach going forward while the others did.
Cal should not be mentioned when talking about great coaches going forward. He’s had a great career & deserves to be in the HOF. That being said his unwillingness to evolve with the game has severely hindered his coaching ability.

Mark Few has EARNED that right to be the face of college basketball and you just listed the reason why.

"He went from coaching a bunch of cohesive over achievers to suddenly coaching for usa basketball and simultaneously getting insanely highly touted guys."

Meanwhile, another coach, who once was the Nike Golden Boy, stumbled around with his big ego, wasted all the top recruits for close to a decade with only one NC to show for all that talent that was gifted to him, and now has blundered his way out of favor with Nike, the NCAA, and even the majority of the most faithful fan base in the nation.

And we are where we are and he is where he is because of his arrogance and super ego.

Pride cometh before a mighty big fall. Cal, and also UK, is reaping what he has sown for the past decade, and this harvest is going to be a rough one for everyone that cares about UK basketball.

Grow a pair. It's a damn game. I can't believe we have pansies calling out of work over this.
This. My *** drug into work Friday morning too. And I’m surrounded by Murray St fans.

That being said, I’ve definitely been sad over both Murray and UK losing. Mom would’ve loved this year. Both UK being good and Murray being good? She’d have been talking up a storm.

Man I miss her.

Didn't say he was. Where did you come up with that?
What I said is that he has earned respect by building a winning program with less talented players and has been chosen by Nike and USA basketball to be the new face of college basketball.
He is also a pretty humble, low key guy who is not an attention where like Cal.

Cal had that opportunity but his inability to dominate with overwhelming talent and making everything about those players being "guided" to UK by Nike, WWW, and whomever else is behind the scenes handling these top players all about him and his "magic" recruiting touch, has turned the power brokers against him.

Cal is officially out of "the family" right now.

The actions of a few thousand people on one day or the actions of 10s of thousands for an entire summer ? which is more anchored in reality and which was overblown ? How many 1000s of windows were broken and how many buildings destroyed by BLM compared to 1 day on Jan 6th ? Whatever your mind is closed to a larger truth that Jan 6th was used by the liberal media to fire foolish people up .. I recently talked to a group of guys that were there . 2 RN's .. an MD and a medical sales guy . They showed me their video's . Said it was nothing .. nothing like what was reported . But you go ahead and do you , you have the right to be wrong in this country .

PS Its. moronic you bring up " beating up Cops" when your " side" routinely threw water bottles , thrash , rocks and in general treated the men/women in blue like lepers , or even worse . Hell your party tried to defund every police district they could , and you bring up unkind actions towards there police ? There very definition of disconnected from reality .
Here's the difference between us....I live in reality.
I'm not making ANY excuses for the BLM riots and ANY of the violence. The destruction of property and rioting was inexcusable. Protesting is fine but what they did wasn't protest....it was rioting.
What happened at the Capitol was a riot as well. There are hundreds of legit videos showing cops being attacked, windows busted out, doors breached, objects used as weapons, bear spray used etc. If you haven't seen them by now that is completely by choice and/or absolute denial of fact.
What happened at the Capitol was a violent attack on our democracy....Not a protest.
The difference between you and me is I am able to see reality. Some BLM protests were peaceful but MANY of them were violent riots and were wrong. The narrative that all BLM protests were peaceful is BS.
The Capitol protest was a violent riot and was wrong. It was an assault on our democracy. The narrative that it was peaceful "legitimate political discourse" is BS.
Both sides spin BS. See it for what it is.
Quit making excuses for one and denying what really happened on Jan 6th. It's completely delusional brainwashed BS.

This. Especially considering Mike Boynton was a name mentioned that could “take the mantle” in the post Coach K era. If I could get ahold of whatever pack Clark Kellogg is holding, I’d start smoking again.
I can honestly say I don't even know where he coaches. 🤷‍♂️🤣

I understand the MORAL dilemma for you, but if every coach got fired for driving under the influence there would be a lot of job openings in college basketball and football this morning.

However, whether morally right or wrong MF coaching ability is not being judged by his drinking habits.

Heck, at least he doesn't coach like he's drunk like some coaches I follow.......

Sorry. A leader of young men, especially college age kids (who are more prone to alcohol exposure and binge drinking), should not be driving drunk and should not be leading them.

I understand no one is perfect. But that’s a big screw up. He could have hurt himself or others.

People shouldn’t drive when unable or in violation. Look what happened in TX. A thirteen year old kid took his own life and wiped out other young lives. Now he wasn’t drunk but there’s he shouldn’t have been behind the wheel.

I’m just tired of America glorifying bad behavior.

If a fifth grade teacher had done it, people would be outraged. But since it was a D1 coach he who pumps in money, slap on the wrist. When you teach and lead? Morality is part of your job in my book. Especially at a private school.

No surprise here. At the present, he's not even best in the SEC. I'm talking coaching not recruiting.
Maybe you should take over the coaching and just let him recruit? Sounds like we have a few thousand that could do a better job than him, and surely anyone can talk a bunch of gullible youngsters to come play for them for a free education, obviously that is all they want out of the deal..

In their defense, they are being realists. Why would he be thought of as a leading coach? All they or even if I was on the panel would not see him as a contender. Off the camera they probably talk of him as burnt- out, a has- been.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz….the ol “why don’t you come here and coach” card when obviously ignoring issues within the Kentucky program

it’s about as old as the “Do you want Billy Gillispie to coach here again” card.

Dude is basically the highest paid basketball coach in the nation and people make every type of excuse for him while he continues to blunder away. Incredible and pathetic at the same time.

What are you trying to accomplish? Do you really think you are going to get him fired? Dream on, mitch has had some really questionable coaches lately, he is not about to fire Cal. And if he did his stupid contract would bankrupt us.

Only ONE BB program is going to win the NC, lots of fans will be disappointed, not just UK fans. We beat whoever is going to be the NC handily this year, played three of the final four, not sure what happened after that, injuries sure didn't help, but did he forget how to coach in the middle of the season? Did he bring in the NPOTY, and did Oscar improve a great deal this year? Did he miss the first six field goals in the second half of the last game, or the five out of six free throws at the end of the game, when we lost in OT? UK wasn't the only team the Saints surprised.

All of the griping at this stage can do is hurt recruiting, and our "players first" coach did a great job of adding talent this year, and I think he will bring in even better talent next year if all the crying doesn't make them change their minds, I expect the transfer portal to be even better next year and since our coach is a players first coach, word gets around. We also have a chance to have four top ten talents' next year, already committed or on the team, plus a lot of younger returning talent that is developing.

Just forget it, I know I am wasting my time, lots of experts on here. ,

Or like reasoning with Trumpsters. Breaking out windows, busting thru doors, beating up cops, stopping the electoral vote process, and causing an evacuation of the Capitol was just a sightseeing tour.
Or like a Presidential election that is certified by every single state in America and upheld by every single court in the land including the US Supreme Court....but it was stolen.
