Cal Getting No Respect From CBS Halftime Crew

The CBS halftime crew was just asking the question of who would carry the torch for leading the coaching fraternity going forward now that coach K is retiring. Pictures of the following coaches were put up, Coach Cal, Jay Wright, Mark Few, Bill Self, Tom Izzy and I believe one other. Both Mark Few and Jay Wright were suggested as being most likely to carry the mantle as top coach. The others were mentioned as less likely contenders. Clark Kellogg even mentioned new head coach for Duke Jon Schyer as a possibility. Coach Cal was the only one to get no mention at all, even though he was shown as the coach with the most overall wins.
I will say this in Cal’s defense. Everyone knows their is jealousy and animosity towards UK basketball, which Coach Cal no doubt brings on, as a result of his ego and arrogance. Still very strange that a Hall of Fane Coach got no mention as being mentioned, as the top coach going forward while the others did.
I mean, it kind of sucks, but if you look at Cals record the last few years I don't know how he could lead a coaching fraternity... He needs to start winning some chips with the talent he has.

CBS and ESPN LOVE that Cal is at UK.

They can hate on both with the same breath over and over. They can enjoy the early flame outs with glee and giddiness. They can watch him get thrown a bone and choke on it, all while endearingthemselves to a grateful nation. What's not to love?

That said- who cares what they think one way or the other. They're just trolls

Months ago Nike started positioning few to be the new face of college basketball and the one to inherit golden child status. He went from coaching a bunch of cohesive over achievers to suddenly coaching for usa basketball and simultaneously getting insanely highly touted guys.

Remember....Nike runs USA basketball and most every coach associated with it was magically getting incredible recruits.

The only real question is will few stay at Gonzaga or just transition to Duke?

For all of the lies Pitino told that dropped my respect for him a mile, he was right about one thing and that one thing bit him squarely on the assp.

Shoe companies have been and are controlling and ruining college and even high school basketball.

Or like reasoning with Trumpsters. Breaking out windows, busting thru doors, beating up cops, stopping the electoral vote process, and causing an evacuation of the Capitol was just a sightseeing tour.
Or like a Presidential election that is certified by every single state in America and upheld by every single court in the land including the US Supreme Court....but it was stolen.
Poster child events for alternate reality.
A reckoning is coming for all of us but especially for those with your views and opinions. I want you to please remember this post because I will. You will be shown the errors of your beliefs and values and there will be no mistaking the truth. When it's all over, you will be very happy but only then realize how wrong you have been. All the best.

They do not listen to reasoning so I do not think we will ever reach middle ground again.

You bring up a very good point. It used to be kind of fun to be us against the world when Cow was winning a lot of games and going to the final four. But now it’s just getting exhausting because everyone hates us even more and he’s not winning at all. I just wish cow would go away.

They do not listen to reasoning so I do not think we will ever reach middle ground again.
I understand your sentiment, but I do believe once this reckoning takes place, we will all be closer to the center and singing from the same hymn book, so the speak.

I hope your take is correct because right now this Country is being destroyed by the Politicians. The most damaging thing is the out of control spending which is leading to inflation like we have never seen before. As interest rates rise we will be lucky to pay the interest on our debt, we are the blame for electing people who never have had a job or live within a budget.

From what I understand, the changes coming will be historic to say the least. Everything we know and understand will be changing. The corruption will be eliminated and the corrupt will be punished, for many, in a permanent way. This country will be restored to Constitutional law and the public will be taught a history lesson that they will never forget. Once fully understood by the people, political divisions will largely disappear ... old systems and old values will be gone. What's coming will be scarry in the beginning but in the end it will fully embraced and supported by all who want the best for everyone and for those (politicians) who are still looking to manipulate and game the system ... well, that ends and those corrupt days will only exist in the history books. Much better days are coming for all of us. Be hopeful ... it has been coming for a while but should be upon us very soon now. Literally, day to day.

Really? When did this happen?

Yes, last season was historically bad. Everyone talks about "since 2015". OK, lets look at that. '16 was decent but Skal was a bust. But we had Murray and Ulis and some great wins. Of course Murray is one of those shooters that never gets and stymies if he does.

'17 was a great team. Fox, Monk and Bam. We entered the tournament as the best team. We lost in the E8 game by 2 points. Yep, really bad team. Again, Monk was one of those shooters stymied by Cal.

'18 was a good, not great team. But JV was hurt all year. Knox played great but again, one of those shooters stymied by Cal.

'19 was a great team. Lost in the E8 in overtime to a team we had already beaten twice. Of course Cal once again didn't recruit a shooter like Herro and stymied him.

'20 started off bad, grew as a team the whole season. Probably the best defensive team in the country by tourney time. Great shooter in Quickley that Cal never recruits and stymies if he does. Are we seeing a pattern here in the hate? That team was poised for a great tourney run. But never got the chance.

'21 What can you say? Doesn't get worse. Injuries and a bad team.

'22 Very good team. Won 26 games. Earned a 2 seed. With 2 players and 8 ball boys.

It is Cal's fault that we had that team of 2 players and 8 ball boys. But the sky is not falling like the haters wish it would.

There's reason to want Cal to move on. I have my reasons to be done with Cal. But it's not on made up non basketball bogeyman issues.
