#1. I don't want the Ball kids here. The kid is bigger than the team right now with the way his dad keeps talking about how his kid will only play for certain teams, billion dollar sneaker contracts. His dad could beat LeBron. His dad is on ESPN beefing with Charles Barkley.

PLEASE KEEP THE DISTRACTIONS GOING NEXT WEEKEND BRO.

Cal won't put up with that. He won't recruit them because he knows what comes with it.

#2. Alford is an idiot if he goes to IU.
He is pretty much promised the other 2 Balls at UCLA. He's got the lure of LA. He's got a more blue blood caliber school. They've had an excellent year which will be easy to build on and to recruit for the future. IU is a dumpster fire

Alfords camp are the ones floating this. He is down the list but a backup option if 5-6 guys turn down the IU job. Hopefully we don't get that far.

Would be a natural break in that his son is graduating and can pursue his playing career beyond college or team up with his father to resurrect the IU program. Also, that would ensure that Bobby Knight will spontaneously combust.

Indiana job > UCLA job

Indiana has everything UCLA does plus a fanbase like ours. Win there and you're on Hoosier Mount Rushmore with RMK, Damon Bailey and Norman Dale. Not that he'd definitely take it, but Indiana should be able to hire just about anybody they want.
you, you shut your ***** mouth...don't you ever say that IU's fanbase is like ours....:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Big ten tougher conference, it might be smart to stay at UCLA, because Adidas is pushing lots of talent that way.

Another thing not mentioned is there has been a ton of animosity with the fan base about him playing his son Bryce too much and not taking him out of games when he gets torched defensively. Boosters hired a plane to fly over the beach asking for him to be fired a couple years ago. There has been a ton of tension between the Alford's and the UCLA fan base through the years.
Huh? Bryce is the third all time leading scorer in UCLA history.
He's a great player and a better than average defender.

You have no clue what you're talking about.

Here is why Alford will leave. Californica is a freak show.

http://www.breitbart.com/sports/201...bt-laws-could-stop-ucla-from-playing-in-ncaa/

A new California law effectively bans state funds from paying for travel to states such as North Carolina that have enacted bathroom laws that require people to use a public restroom that corresponds to their birth sex, and other religious freedom laws. But, if Assembly Bill 1887 is fully enforced, it would stop sports teams from California’s public universities from traveling to games in those states.

Bill 1887, which took effect this year, currently bans travel to Kansas, Mississippi, North Carolina and Tennessee and will likely ban travel to Texas and other states if they pass bathroom bills currently wending the way through legislatures.

University of California, Los Angeles Athletics spokesperson Josh Rupprecht told the Daily Bruin that the school’s athletic program does not get state funds, but even so there will be no travel to states on the ban list.

“UCLA and UCLA Athletics are fully committed to promoting and protecting equity, diversity, and inclusion as set forth in the university’s Principles of Community,” Rupprecht told the paper.

This means the school will now cancel travel to the South Regional f0r the 2017 NCAA men’s basketball tournament being held in Tennessee this year. Also, the law would stop the women’s and men’s basketball teams from traveling to the blacklisted states.

Lets see if they follow through with their law. Lets hope they do.

One of my insider sources told me a couple days ago that there is indeed some "Alford to Indiana" discussion going on with power brokers behind the scenes. There are a few specific scenarios that would have to play out for it to happen, but the "possibilities are being considered" (as my source put it to me) and will have to probably wait until "May or June" for any realistic developments.

I think Alford would love to be considered. He would run to IU in my opinion. And he should just to get away from that circus that is the Ball family. That whole deal is gonna end badly. But right or wrong I think the IU fan base thinks they can do better.

I'm pretty sure Alford was offered the job when he was at Iowa and turned it down. I believe he has some bad feelings toward IU for whatever reason

There are plenty of coaches available for iusedtobe to pick from.
Mike gottfried, kip anderson, lorenzo romar, johnnie jones. seth greenburg is even rumored to be thinking about returning to coaching.
Jimmy dykes probably looking for a job too but loosiers would be a lateral move at best.

My wife knows an "inside" college basketball source, albeit a "retired" one connected to UCLA.

There is indeed some buzz about how Alford and UCLA aren't exactly on the same page.
I got nothing in regards to IU, but lets just say it wouldn't take too much for Alford and UCLA to part ways.

I'm hearing it's certainly possible. I don't see it however. If so, could we get the other two Balls to UK?

Chris Collins would be a good hire for IU, good upcoming Coach. Indiana is a state flooded with high school talent, Crean just couldn't recruit in state.

Between papa Ball and Alford to IU talk, UCLA is going to have plenty of distraction all weekend.

Donovan-go ahead a laugh, even if its a longshot, they'll call
Bennett
Marshall
A. Miller
Collins
And they'll all get voicemails with no return call. Good luck on that search...you'll end up settling with someone no one's heard of, or Alford.

All 3 Ball brothers are overrated as hell, especially the youngest 2. Lonzo will never be anything more than a 18/6/6 type of player. That's above average but not #2 pick numbers.

LiAngelo, which btw is an absolutely stupid name, will be a 3-4 year college player who will never make the NBA.

LeMelo, again an absolutely stupid name, is maybe the single most overrated player I've ever seen. He's been turned into this YouTube legend when in reality he's no different than some of top kids you'd find around the state of KY. He's got the body and frame of a 16 year old girl and the athletic ability to go along with it. The only true skill he has is shooting but he won't be getting that shot off in college. Not to mention he literally doesn't play defense. Watch some of his YouTube highlights, him and his brother never cross halfcourt on a large portion of the time when their team is on defense. That's how they've scored as much as they have. They sit at the other end of the court with their hand up and have their teammates throw a full court pass for a cherry picked layup. It's sickening.

I wouldn't want any of those 3 chumps or their punk *** dad anywhere near UK.

Just listen to this crap. I can't stand LaVar. I wouldn't piss on him if he were on fire. Even Barkley today would put him in his place.

It's possible from the Alford side. People like to go home. He would have likely preferred it while his kids were younger but he is where he is in the stage of life.

Many IU fans don't seem to want him.
