No. You can't say it about every position. When a school has 4 CB commits and 0 DE commits it is not the same. CB is a question mark. DE is a HOLE.

. You might want to wait for Big Game Campbell to actually coach a game before you build a statue. He has one LB and one WR.
Do you remember any of BGJ early years. LOL. His game day coaching wasn't exactly stellar. We should all just wait and exercise a little patience where any new HC is concerned.

Kemajou, Granville, and Arrington are sophomores. Burnett, Reeder, and Ford are freshmen. We should be OK at DE if we can hold these kids.
Wait the damn hasn't broken. I could swear posters think it has and it's now a wasteland.

That’s fair, I guess. Seems like a blanket statement though. I’m not sure the WRs weren’t talented, maybe just undercoached? Or underutilized? Those that transferred were productive elsewhere. The LBs may have suffered from stubbornness of the coaching staff to play the same players despite the younger guys flashing at times. Rojas looked great, when healthy. They brought in Campbell from the portal and he played fast and led the team in tackles last year. Tatsch looked good with limited opportunities. DTs were a mixed bag. Durant had a great Jr season, but dropped off last year. Gilliam flashed at times last year. I wish he would have stayed.
Whatever the problem was with the WRs, that falls on Franklin so the label of him underperforming or underachieving holds for sure regarding that position group.

LB was no where near the standard we have set at PSU. You reference stubbornness by the coaching staff, well that is Franklin so he is responsible for underperformance by that group. What happened to Speca? He was supposed to be an up and comer and did nothing. How much did Tatsch develop? At PSU the standard was at least two All B10 level LBs and we were not close. Why were we forced to start a walk-on in DeLuca?

At DT, Durant yes in '24 but he regressed in '25. Admittedly we were not horrible at DT but there was an erosion of talent. You could see our DTs were not close to elite. We never had much of a a run stuffer or big time disrupter to get to the QB or get in the backfield much if at all.

It's very difficult to be a top 5 program but I think PSU had all the makings of a perennial top 10 program until NIL hit. We used to be able to sell recruits on education and the amazing fan base. Now it's mostly the money and I agree that there are 10 teams ahead of us that will be difficult to ever match.

I don't like your statement that OSU and Oregon are better programs. They're just programs with a lot more money.

I think Cignetti hit lightning in a bottle. I doubt he'll be able to keep it up as a national championship contender. I do think he's turned the program around. More interest = more money so they're likely going to stay in the top half of the BiG. Just not top 2 or 3.
So how many years straight will Indiana need to make the playoff before you concede they are a legitimate NC contender? They most likely make it this year so that would be 3 straight years with a NC.
