They both do have the same number of NCAA titles. I couldn’t stand Tubby and still cant. After he got his huge contract he tanked it. Let’s see what Cal does in the next 5 years. If he doesn’t win another title he is an epic fail. I sure hope I am wrong. No one wants to see him do that more than me but things have to change. Maybe the grad transfer rule will help we can get 22 year old one and dones.
Hero only made 94% of his free throws this year. Wow. Cal can't recruit players that can shoot free throws.

At least in the past when we would come up short we'd get to know the players a little bit because they'd stay 4 years. If we're not going to win any more titles, I'd like to have them stay long enough to learn their jersey numbers. As it is now, we have a bunch of strangers out there getting bounced in the Elite 8 and then leaving.

Not every #2 class is the same. See 2013. But when you only fish in the OAD pond you will have holes in your roster a lot of the time.
It’s Cal’s philosophy. He even told Ulis not to come here if he thought he’d be here more than 2 years. He recruits these guys based on their NBA potential and their measurables.
I don't want to be mean, but you are WAY off the mark here.
First off, Cal telling Ulis not to come here if he's expecting to be here 3+ years was his way of saying "I want you to come here with the goal of working your way to the league as fast as you can". That type of work ethic, in turn, helps UK win basketball games. He didn't say it meaning "if you are a 3-year player then I don't want you".
Second, Cal doesn't recruit based simply on measurables/NBA potential. If that were the case he would have never backed off the guys he did over the past five or so years. Yes, he wants the best talent, but he only wants the talent he thinks will fit with the team and his style of coaching/play. Many a great NBA prospect was either dropped off the recruiting radar by Cal or simply never recruited in the first place for one reason or another.
Keep swinging though. You'll make contact one of these days.
Why don't you talk to Cal and tell him his recruiting sucks? I wait for you to get back to us and let us know what he says.

I love discussing UK basketball. I am sorry that we cannot disagree like grown men and women. Immature kids start calling you names and trolls and using profanity. I am assuming the mods agree with them or they would ban them. Amazing to me that you cannot express your opinion without being labeled. Maybe just a product of this generation of kids

Yeah, but Cal isn't paying to get the players. Wooden had to pay them to come to UCLA, if Cal did the same thing we'd have more championships. There will never be another college team that dominates like UCLA. It's a different game now with more teams that have great players You seem angry and that can sometimes fog your brain. I agree. With our current model, we will soon be celebrating Final Fours as Championship banners and elite 8's as final fours. Its already happening if you ask me. Because we won't be winning any more championships without having a few experienced upperclassmen starters in the program every year.

Unfortunately with the nature of your posts you feel like an itch that can’t be scratched. Every time there is unfavorable news you milk it for what it’s worth. There are a few here that embrace your misery but for most of us it’s getting very old.
We had a Senior and Sophomore start this year and next year we will have a sophomore dominant square plus a senior and junior.
Please be honest you want to see Cal fail because that’s your agenda. He has placed us in a spot to seriously compete for the title 2 of the last 3 years and every reasonable fan in America would be very happy with that. I want FFs and NCs also but **** happens and it always doesn’t happen. He has a 40% FF rate that could easily be 60 % over his time here.

He ABSOLUTELY wants Cal to fail. When Duke was up by 9 on Mich St., he got giddy and said "Duke is destroying MSU and will advance to win their third title in the Cal era."
After Duke lost, he pouted for a day or so and has since started more threads in the last month than he did in the previous year+. But hey, he's been here longer than us so that makes him a good poster.....[laughing]
