Felt like I was at Keeneland for about a hour Friday and spent 45 minutes of that hour trying to find people. What else is new?

$6 to $8K for 12 hour access to a fancied up trailer, obscene disposable income indulgence is awesome

Hot dogs, hamburgers, and soft drinks are included with the 12 hour rental. Seems like a bargain.

^Lol, they sent us one of those in the mail. $6-8000 to tailgate a UK game. [laughing] They'd be better off finding the service, similar to Bama/ Ole Miss/ Auburn, that sets up tented tailgates. Just seems like a massive failure. Even the high rollers I can't imagine doing that. Maybe corporate occasionally I guess?

-Rob, I would ask my old buddies but they've either died from heroin or are in/out of jail. Clark can confirm. Also, after driving down Dixie last week, I'm good. I loved that area growing up but the place has really changed. I see Chic Fil A is crushing it, passed it at 2p and a triple line was wrapping the building. Nothing wrong with changing. Family came from a blue collar area and started with literally nothing.

-Speaking of my old friends, how many HS friends are you still close to? College?(stole this question from this weekend)

I'm the least qualified person in this thread to talk distance running, but what exactly does a slow 100 miler consist of exactly. Do you take a nap in the middle of it? Do you run and eat constantly? Do you buddy up with someone and talk to them for a whole day?

I mean when I was an "athlete" and ran 2 miles I immediately had to take a dump. Are you crapping in the woods after dark for the sake of exercise?

Again, I'm not going to criticize, your max heart rate and my blood sugar are probably similar but from where I sit I could run to a Reds game or be on Lake Cumberland and actually have a couple miles to spare. That boggles my mind.

For the 100, the girl I ran with was quite a bit slower than me. So I was able to make it thru that without ever putting out a ton of effort. Yes, I ate a ton. Little Caes, candy, pancakes, etc. Lots of walking, and a 45 minute nap.

50 -- my pace was 11:14 overall. Given the aid station breaks, that's basically a consistent 10:30ish mile pace. Felt fantastic. The last two miles were actually my fastest, and I think I passed 6-8 people.

Tried Sudafed, and the put-your-ear-over-a-steaming-cup-of-water-trick, but no luck so far. Pharmacist told me today that I should probably go ahead and go to the Doc so it doesn't become worse. So, I've got an appointment in about 30 minutes.

Crossing my fingers that he doesn't order me to suck a dick and prescribe dildos for my ears, per GYERO, M.D.

I'll keep everyone posted.

PSA for Lexington folks:

*Skip the new Taziki's place on Southland if you're looking for a gyro. Thought I'd try out/support the new neighborhood joint.

There's really no reason to deviate from Athenian Grill. Ever.

They do have pellet ice, though.

*In other Southland Dr news, the new Willie's Locally Known place is very nice. It'll make it...even heard talk of franchising it in other cities.

I had Athenian again today. Basically my lunch go to if I'm leaving the shop. Greek salad topped with the chicken and side car of tzatziki. Light and healthy.

Agreed. They'll do some big things over there. Few of us checked it out couple Saturdays ago. Still "In training" so no kitchen, but had a great crowd none the less.

-More Southland Drive news, appears my ban has been lifted at Marikka's. Five years just flew by.

Running a 100 mile race is awesome, impressive, I couldn't do it, etc(all the other accolades) but can you really claim to have run 100 miles if you walk part of them?

Taziki's is a chain. I went to one in Birmingham a few years ago. Thought it was decent, but Athenian is definitely better.

HS: 1 -- although I still consider another a dear friend...but he has 5 kids including triplets, and another w/ similar acceptable circumstances.

College: Double Digits

Internet: 5-10

-Southland: RIP Sontino's Pizza Swirls, but God Bless Winchell's weekend breakfast. #CBH

-Related: Am I the only one who doesn't have 'work' friends on purpose? So many agents here in Louisville hang out regularly, it's almost like a fraternity...it's not that I don't like a bunch of them, but I don't need/want anymore friends, or just like my current friends way more, and always have that option if/when I want to do anything fun? Dunno, Just never been my thing...

Athenian's grilled chicken sandwich is awesome. The rest of their grilled stuff isn't bad but they gyro's aren't going to compete with Athenian. Between Sahara, Oasis, and Athenian, there's a nice little Mediterranean mix in Lexington now.

Introduced my family to Winchell's breakfast this weekend. They had bacon and sausage stuffed pancakes as one of the specials and I regret not getting it, of course if I had got it I would have regretted it about halftime of the Spring game.
