You know, I am convinced the main reason I continue to waste time posting and perusing this board is to verify the reality I exist in has a significantly larger population than the one guys like Tiger Growls and Palmetto live in. When some of the most persistent voices in this country are repeatedly telling you down is up, day is night, piss is rain, turds are Snickers, you start to question (a little) your own sanity.
I guess what I am trying to say is these days I have to take the Ronald Reagan “trust, but verify” approach to ensure that I am tuned into reality. Thank goodness for chaps like you.

To summarize tonight’s bafflingly insane, embarrassing parody of a stranger than fiction sh*t show, Donald Trump began the evening addressing what would undoubtedly prove to be jaw-dropping revelations about the 2020 election by taking a few minutes to first suck his own dick. And when his self-fellating had run its bizarre and unnatural course, Trump shifted to…check notes…blame his own appointed intelligence officers for bamboozling and snookering him by hiding valuable pieces of evidence that would have blown the 2020 election doors off its hinges.
Oh, and then there was some “Chy-nuh, chy-nuh, chy-nuh!” drivel he was in the process of beginning to piss and moan about—some dastardly insidious plan of China’s to obtain the publicly available voting records of Americans—when I decided to call it quits.
At this point, if you care about the United States of America and our reputation around the world and aren’t absolutely embarrassed by the Tangerine Toddler, you are unequivocally a f#cking retard with no redemptive value of any sort. I was at least hoping the speech would be somewhat entertaining in being delusional, but this was as painfully boring as it was epically stupid. I mean, that was the bombshell revelation Scrubby, Growls, and others had been spending all week edging in anticipation of?

I admit that I did not watch the address. So, I don't know if it was political or factual - although I would guess it was intended to be both.
I do know, that Biden was inaugurated as President in 2021 and that he served 4 years as President. So a rational person would assume he was elected. And, in spite of all the prognoses that Trump would not leave the White House, he did.
But, from what I read, Trump laid out some "facts" from various intelligence communities that pointed out some inadequacies in our elections process and the possibilities that some outsiders are interfering in our elections. Now, I don't know if any of that is true or just trump rationalizing his loss in 2020. But, if there is even a modicum of truth in what Trump is saying, we should have some bipartisan group take a hard look at whatever evidence there is to support Trump's claims. My guess would be that part of what trump said was just "trump BS" but that some parts were true. So rather than just ignore it, maybe there's some value in an investigation.
Talk about job security. Researching everything Trump lays out as “truths” and “facts” across all his interviews, media posts, rallies, and speeches would employ the state of Delaware. For decades. **

Though it may have included "some" facts, it definitely wasn't intended to be factual. This was sheer fear mongering with old news that we already knew about and fake claims about non-citizens on the voting rolls, voting machines in Venezuela and deep state actors.
- He raged about an intelligence report from 2019 that showed that China had planned an influence campaign to damage his candidacy, though they decided not to. However, in the same document trove was intelligence that showed Russia was going to/did the same for Biden, however, he conveniently left that part out.
- As part of his claim he said China had obtained voting data on 220 million voters, though this is publicly available information and on top of that, there aren't that many eligible voters here, so that was a lie.
- He claims they found 278.000 non-citizens on the voting rolls of four blue states but experts and the states themselves says there's no way that's true and it's almost certain that this is old data and the majority of those names were once non-citizens who have since been naturalized. But because they haven't shared those lists with the states, they don't have a way to disprove the claim. Nevertheless, Markwayne used this bad data as fodder for his Nazi-esque rage about withholding funds and criminalizing states who allow a non-citizen to vote.
- He did mention Venezuelan voting machines changing some votes - though that was unverified intelligence about something that happened in Venezuela only, not the States.
It also needs to be noted that he's dismantled or damaged every agency/ task force that monitors election interference so we can correctly surmise, that's not at all his real concern. He just doesn't want any of those agencies to monitor what he's doing.

I wanted to add that Georgia's election supervisor, Gabe Sterling, was interviewed last night and he explained that election authorities already have their hands full with the normal blocking and tackling required to pull off the mid-terms in a timely manner and if you add all the provisions of the SAVE Act to their responsibilities, mistakes will happen and when they are caught, Trump will likely use those mistakes to call the results invalid and may even seize the ballots and machines.
And there could be as many as 100 million people that will need to re-register in person so can you imagine how long the lines will be to get that many people registered in time? They may also overwhelm the system with requests for birth certificates and/or passports.
This is a scary, un-American assault on our democracy and should not be taken lightly.

Seems if it were occurring on such a large scale, they would have been able to present something for the courts to at least sneeze at.
I don't know if the bill will pass or not. But it does seem clear that there isn't enough to time to implement it prior to 2026 elections. I just read an OPED by sen murkowski. She's a "no" vote on the bill and she lays out the case why. Assuming what she says is true, and I have no reason to doubt her, the bill would make it extremely difficult for some of her constituents to register and to vote.
