I wouldn't. I didn't see Lowe as a high value recruit (others did -- I hated his game). Freeman is valuable enough to take the risk (kind of like Quaintance). Just don't overpay out the *** (I'm talking over 150% market value)and make yourself and the program look like idiots, and it's fine to go for it.

I would like the addition of Freeman as well -- we need guys like that to field a "UK caliber" team.
But none of us will know how much Pope paid for Freeman, or Lowe, so we can't accuse MP for overpaying him.
There was a lot of hate thrown at Pope after Lowe got hurt, because "Lowe was injury prone" and Lowe actually wasn't injury prone, Freeman is.

Agree. To put it simply, if Pope does land Freeman, I'd be happy with it and label it as a big recruiting win.

I’d be struggling to figure out where CMP would go if he lost Freeman. That’d be a catastrophic loss for Mark Pope. Much, much worse than losing Wright since he had a good backup. With Rancik off the board, it’s pretty slim pickings.
That’s when you go make a massive offer to Momcilivc if he returns to college. A million more than his perceived favorite offer, and pursue slim Jesus in the foreign lands.

Momcilovic will be huge. If it came down to him or Stokes ($$ for one or the other), I honestly don't know who I'd pick. Probably go with Stokes because we really need elite recruit clout again. But Momcilovic is exactly what a Pope team needs, just have to hope Zoom and Wilkins are up to the task and provide the needed guardplay.

There’s a problem with your logic on that.
Yes, the assumption is we provide offer to Milan if we don’t get Stokes (or at least it was yesterday). That said, we lose money on the budget if we don’t get Stokes so we may not have the cash to outbid everyone for Milan.

Gotta pull Stokes first though. I’d rather get a player first and then we can go from there. Plus if he starts pulling players of that caliber who is to say more boosters won’t step up if they feel we have a chance at a better roster?

Lucas has put together a pretty decent haul for a second year coach at a non basketball school.
I projected Lucas as a high potential coach with a chance to become elite based off him winning a tourney game at such a young age. Since then, he's only supported that fact.

I'd rather have someone who made a FF somewhere else recetly, but if such candidates aren't willing, then I would have no issues with a Jai hire.

Freeman has Pope by the balls now. Obviously all recruits and agents are leveraging the amount they can get, the market is shrinking with starting level players. Goode being off the market really hurts now. If they could have gotten Rancik to commit I would have called Freeman and said you have until the end of the day to accept or we will continue to recruit you after this commitment at a far less amount.

I might me a minority but I put a lot of stock in conference regular season and tournaments. It shows you can scout and game plan and survive tough road games. The NCAA is sucks a crapshot, it would be nice to have those wins but I want to get back to dominating our own conference. When that happens we go into the big dance as a 1 or 2 seed and give us a better chance.

Freeman seems like a pain in the *ss. Per trilly, there’s been a lot of flip-flopping and indecisiveness from him and his people.
The issue is his people. If these players had a strong Father or Mother than they kept the decision between them only it would work better. They have so many hanger ons trying to get their piece, it turns it into a mess.
