I don’t have a clue but I have an opinion and I think he could give us 7-10 minutes a game instead of Garrison. That’s not attacking the guy. He does play for the University of Kentucky and is making a lot of money. Not a kid. Signed up for this.

I couldn’t imagine having a son who’s making money playing at UK, allowed to sit and catered to, headed to the NBA most likely and this is what you do? Does he not understand JQ is not good enough to offset potential issues NBA organizations see in the situation? I don’t think his dad can kill his stock, but he can hurt it with some clubs for sure. Seems like he raised a good kid, I think JQ is a nice guy and seems to be a good teammate. But he’s just giving odd vibes. Some of this stuff isn’t necessary and reflects bad on their family. I will always believe they saw a soft target in Pope and just exploited it. Pope was just in awe a future NBA pick finally said yes and took what he could. Having no idea it was just a way to bleed him use him and roll out.
Very, very few fathers do this kind of thing for a reason. It reflects poorly on his son, and most fathers in that position teach their kid to talk on the court not in public. They are public figures, he’s got NBA aspirations. What in the world I couldn’t imagine coming at common fans, writers, coaches etc when my son is learning from me how to handle it. That’s what a real father does
On the one hand of course he's right, JQ is only 18, and he's taking a lot of criticism for an 18 year old. On the other hand he made more money on a per-game-played basis this season than I will probably ever make in a year in my life lol. That kind of money comes with some pressure. If they had it their way he would be playing in the NBA this season, would JQ's dad tell Hawks fans they can't criticize his son? The situations aren't that different.
I’m active on X. Kentucky doesn’t come close to the worst. If they’re on X, they’re going to think UK fans are tame compared to Tennessee fans, Auburn, Alabama, Texas, man these fanbases are insane. If they watch TV, they can see Tennessee fans throwing things at those own players, acting absolute fools on live TV. Auburn fans shew. And I would teach him that by my actions, which, that’s exactly what most parents do. Tom Brady has spoke to this while he was at Michigan, his father told him to give them a show and shut up. Ignore it and focus on your game. So this idea parents need to insert themselves I don’t know when this started becoming wise to some but it’s not at all.

Interesting reading some of these remarks. Before the season started so many on here talked glowingly about JQ and how good he will be once healthy.

I don’t understand and I’ll just repeat it because it seems many didn’t catch it. His dad sounded off right at the time, directly at the time, he sat. His dad went off about how he was being handled by the staff, JQ was playing horribly, and then bam he goes to the bench with “swelling”. I realize correlation didn’t always equal causation, but it is a necessary ingredient in causation too. And with this much money on the line and his stock declining, his dad’s comments, then to the bench? Hard to believe you wouldn’t at least see where the issue is coming in.
All I know is if his knee is really this bad off and still swelling after all this rest with no on court work he probably needs another surgery to clean something up. We will see very shortly if that’s the case or not with the combine coming up. That will tell a huge story to me.

Kentucky fans are mostly pathetic compared to other fanbases. We aren’t as serious about basketball as some fans try to make is out to be, especially considering how long out program has been allowed to be mediocre.
I can't give any names but my best friend's daughter is an outstanding BB player and was at the game yesterday with her family who are avid UK fans. She is being recruited by a number of major programs but UK women's staff aren't really recruiting her yet because she is, I believe, a junior. It appears that if UK offers, she will accept as UK is her dream school. From everything I've been told and seen in a few clips, she will be a valuable addition to any major college roster.That’s what my better half tells me
