His dad is a dumb sob!
It just be real nice if they would give people an update on his status. We care about JQ and I’d personally like to see him back out there but quit being hush hush. We’ve been screwed before.
It's nobody's business and we as fans are entitled to nothing.

I definitely want him to play. He’s a projected lottery pick for a reason.

I think we continue to start Moreno. Bring JQ off the bench for BG’s minutes (roughly 14 per game). He can make a big impact with 14 minutes as an energy rebounder and shot blocker. He can get a couple of dunks/put backs.

If he’s healthy and plays up to his ability, his return raises our ceiling.

JQ’S dad seeing his son NBA draft dropping , is trying to clear his son image. Understandable but in my mind , this is a situation where less is more…..

he is actually doing more damage then helping,,,,,first he goes after coaching staff ,,,,then after the fan base….even if he would be right , those are very bad moves that will not look good for any NBA GM. You want your son to look coachable, hardworking and humble and drama free…..

Question to my fellow RR posters, in the very unlikely event that JQ returns to college , would you want him back at UK?
Absolutely would want him back. Huge if he does.

So he just wants to play in March Madness because his draft stock is slipping because his Dad's mouth revealed his quitter attitude, so now he wants to play with the National Spotlight of the NCAA tournament, to try to raise his stock back up.
So which is it? You going to be mad he's not playing or mad he's playing .

My

spidy senses are up. We could potentially use him but it's not a home run since he hasn't played or practiced in 2 months.
But as a lot of you are saying, he'd be better than Garrison.
I'm fine with that. Anything behind Moreno is better at this point than Garrison. Malachi Moreno gives Kentucky their best chance to win at the 5 for this year's team and it has been that way for a while now. If we're fortunate, JQ can have a moment like Marcus Lee out of nowhere to give them 10 & 8 again, 2 blocks like Lee vs Michigan in the Elite 8 after sitting most of the year. Fland missed 2 months last year and came back for the tournament. I'm hopeful for that at least out of Kam Williams.

Yep if it keeps Garrison off the floor, I'm for it.
BG is definitely the beating boy this year. Seriously do I think he’s amazing? No. But I do remember at least one game we won this year because of him. He gives good energy sometimes and dumb plays a lot of times.

He is thrown around like he doesn’t know how to read or walk. Dudes not that bad. Him and Moreno the only high school All Americans on the team? Assuming JQ was also. He might be third in that rotation but everyone’s exaggerates when it comes to BG.

Like Trent Noah… I can appreciate him and BG. I’m not gonna attack the poster that said oooh he wants to play in march only?

I feel the same way. I feel like he was sitting out while his “teammates” were winning hard fought SEC games without him. Now that we are semi hot and a lock for the tournament he wants to come back. “Strength test” …. At the end of the day he knows if he can play or not.

So does he get to sit when dad says so then come back and take BG and Trent Noahs minutes.

well the answer is yes. Yes we do lmao. 🤣 love em but I love UK more. You must certainly let JQ and and his Dad be a part of march madness. …… only because I want UK to succeed and if he’s healthy he will help. So I feel both ways at the same time lol.

I have no problem with either of them being here next year but it would have to be low NIL dollars because you're talking about likely the 9th and 10th men going in next season

Hmm that's odd. Because if people stop caring, the money stops flowing, and if the money stops flowing I bet that "nothing" would change quickly.
Who said anything about caring? We are KY. Our fans will always care. Our fans will not stop caring because we don't get enough injury updates.

Kentucky basketball is a business. We the fans are consumers of the product, but we are not like shareholders. We are entitled to nothing really.

I did contribute to the NIL fund but not nearly what the big donors contribute. I can tell you the big donors are concerned about how their money was spent this past summer.

Having stated this I will be surprised if JQ sees the floor this March. Perhaps there is a scenario that he returns next season but I think it is likely less than 25%. So I guess I will be pleasantly surprised if he does return but it seems as if Pope is not the one that determines this.

I want JQ back both for the team, and his team mates- every player wants to see a guy come back from a devastating injury like this. It’s a win-win for everyone in BBN. He and his family have been through a lot- imagine if JQ was your son. Prayers that this can happen.

I don’t have a clue but I have an opinion and I think he could give us 7-10 minutes a game instead of Garrison. That’s not attacking the guy. He does play for the University of Kentucky and is making a lot of money. Not a kid. Signed up for this.

I don’t see how many fans having the same opinion is being a prick but I get some may have actually attacked the guys twitter or something.

my reasoning for that is I haven’t heard him say two words since he began sitting out for swelling. He’s still a part of the team right? Naaaaa he’s sitting till the draft. Sorry not sorry.
If he wants to improve his draft stock then he needs to play. He's falling like a rock

I guess we will see

False. If you think people will continue to support this program with guys getting paid and not playing year end and year out and sitting the bench you are crazy.

This dude has played so little, I've seen the same weird picture of him playing against St. Johns on every one of his updates.
