And I love all you that bash 8 wins as if it's some sort of "mediocrity". 8 wins in a 12 win season is a 67% win %. 60% is the threshold for the HOF, so yeah, 8 wins is significantly better than what it takes to get into the HOF. I keep waiting for the falloff all you haters said would happen when we went away from divisions. We're a combined 12-6 in the Big Ten which is Top 5 in the 2 years combined. 5 out of 18 aint' medicore either.

I'm glad he's staying and hope he stays until he's 80.

Honest question for those who want Ferentz gone: Who would you bring in that can surpass his success at Iowa?
So you'd rather accept the fact that Iowa will never win a B1G title, will never likely gain a CFP birth, will never be expected to beat highly ranked teams, will never be anything more than an 8-10 win team at best, than try to find a new coach that could actually get Iowa football to that next level.

Do we know Iowa football will get there with a new coach? No. Do we know Iowa won't get there with a new coach? No. I'd rather open the doors to the possibility of us getting there than keeping the doors closed knowing we never will.

And, as much as it hurts many of you, KF will be gone one day. It's just a fact. I don't know how you're going to deal with it, but it's going to happen.

while you're whining about people that disagree with you. Why would I complain about a new hire until he proves he cannot win the BIG or make the playoffs. But at least you will be happy with your participation trophy.

You answered your own question. If it happens once, people like you expect it to happen often. If it happens often, people like you expect it to happen all the time.

In all seriousness, I can’t imagine how much he must hate his wife, kids and grandkids.

“Yeah, Honey, I know that we are approaching our twilight years, and I have basically had no real family time for the past 30+ years, and we have more $ than our grandkids could ever spend, but instead of spending time with you while traveling the country in style watching our boys coach and spoiling the tots, I think I’ll just keep devoting what little quality time I have left on this earth working 100+ hours/week coaching college kids that I’ve only known for a few years.” (Cue tears)

Very few come to mind for me, but Brian Hartline would have completely transformed the Iowa program. You can argue whether that transformation would have been negative or positive, but you know that the talent on the offensive side of the ball, particularly at QB and WR would likely jump significantly and the Iowa image as a place where QB's and WR's go to die would immediately be put in the past.
