Must be top 10 because we all know it’s all about field houses. What is the ranking of their fieldhouse?
Commentators. Discussed just that when it came to Oregon and Indiana roster comparisons. Not in the same ballpark. Both in player rankings and NIL funding. 24/7 ranks their roster as it is composed with updated rankings via portal. Do you really think JMU transfers cost money? They followed their coach. That's great, but their bread and butter is from the transfer portal. Lot easier to evaluate talent when you seen it play for a year or two and have the money to outspend others.
They had 21 transfers in this year. They got the JMU kids last year not this year. That's a fifth of the roster. Players want to play for him and get paid from him and the Indiana boosters are willing to provide.Commentators. Discussed just that when it came to Oregon and Indiana roster comparisons. Last year I think not any more or less than any other schools. I think they mostly followed their coach.Commentators. Discussed just that when it came to Oregon and Indiana roster comparisons. Yea I know. But he was able to win and get the ball rolling last year with JMU players. If he **** the bed last year there would be less credibility this year. Not saying NIL is not a factor. But it has less to do with NIL at Indiana. And more to do with coaching. They had 21 transfers in this year. They got the JMU kids last year not this year. That's a fifth of the roster. Yea was posting a reply when you made this post. Pretty much said very similar thing.Last year I think not any more or less than any other schools. I think they mostly followed their coach.
This year I think any of them could be getting more money both players who are back and new players.
I think last year vs this year is sort of apples and oranges because it’s a pre revenue sharing world vs a post revenue sharing world.
That's the real reason they're winning. What is the ranking of their fieldhouse?
But the Indiana QB apparently did not take the biggest bag of money. He chose Indiana for Cignetti and his ability to develop him for NFL.
Nico Immagonnaleaveya took less money to go to UCLA and now he is thriving for at least 2 games
This guy chased a bag to go to Penn State and it is not work out well

I thought The Ball was The Program? What is the ranking of their fieldhouse?
Trebor Pena is a WR not a qb.Is he still an afterthought after today's injury?
Only when you don’t have a proper field house. Come on. We all know it’s field house, ball, then hydration bar.I thought The Ball was The Program?
While not yet showing up in the W L column and their turnaround will not be as stunning as Indiana's, Purdue is light years better with Odom as head coach and a bunch of players he brought over who wanted to play for him. That's great, but their bread and butter is from the transfer portal. Lot easier to evaluate talent when you seen it play for a year or two and have the money to outspend others. So, the tweet is misleading, he's a really good coach but this guy is making him out to be God like.
They posted a win % stat during the game. Historically Indiana had 38% winning percentage. Cignetti has close to a 90% winning percentage at Indiana. Yes not dealing with a huge data set with Cignetti at Indiana. But Cignettis career head coaching winning percentage is greater than 80%. He’s won everywhere he has been. While not yet showing up in the W L column and rhir turnaround will not be as stunning as Indiana's, Purdue is light years better with Odom as head coach and a bunch of players he brought over who wanted to play for him.
Talent evaluation of portal talent and then integration of players who have not played together is critical. RU has not done that well with either of those. Think Purdue is going to be a difficult game.

I'm telling you look at our defensive staff. It's like we had no options but to take guys nobody wanted and promote 1yr of experience assistant position coaches (that's called support staff) to position coaches. On paper and in practice it's one of the worst staffs I've ever seen Schiano assemble. They're unqualified and have no experience running their specific position as the head man. Promoting is Ok, but almost an entire staff? While not yet showing up in the W L column and rhir turnaround will not be as stunning as Indiana's, Purdue is light years better with Odom as head coach and a bunch of players he brought over who wanted to play for him.

I have said the same thing over the last 4-5 years. The worst part is that not only is it an unqualified staff. It’s that we bid against ourselves for each and every one of them. Very few if any would be a candidate for a lateral move at any major d1 staff outside of Flats. Yet here we are giving them advanced titles, increase in pay and extended contracts.I'm telling you look at our defensive staff. Possibly but he’s a retread. Was he a candidate for a coaching position anywhere prior to bringing him back. What about Brock?
Di we win 1 game within the conference? Going to be tough. While not yet showing up in the W L column and their turnaround will not be as stunning as Indiana's, Purdue is light years better with Odom as head coach and a bunch of players he brought over who wanted to play for him.

Who did we outbid to snag Grifter Greg ?I have said the same thing over the last 4-5 years. The worst part is that not only is it an unqualified staff. I would still like to know what Schiano did to you to make you hate the man so much! If you are anything more than a troll you will tell us!Who did we outbid to snag Grifter Greg ?

Shelby doesn’t hate the man. Shelby hates the coach because at this point it’s clear beyond any doubt he can’t win in this conference. His Big10 moribund winning percentage is roughly 25% and dropping every week. Case closed. If not for Wagner and HBCUs the team wouldn’t ever have been bowl eligible. Just wait until he cancels the BC game next year. Keep Choppin the dead wood Grifter Greg bc that’s all you’re choppin.I would still like to know what Schiano did to you to make you hate the man so much! Composite rankings include transfer rankings as well as high school rankings. Some players ranked higher out of high school than they did as transfers. And some ranked higher as transfers. And yet they spent $13 million in NIL to build that roster, so obviously those HS rankings meant jack shít.
Who do you think Rutgers should pursue as the next head coach? I understand all of the schianos criticism, I just don't know who people think the next head coach should be?Shelby doesn’t hate the man. Every year the incompetent leech remains in the job is one less year Shelby and all of us have hope of getting to a significant bowl game. We’ve seen his ceiling and it’s unacceptably low.
Last year the JMIU kids followed him and there were no highly paid transfers . The boosters were not paying and they still went to the college playoff. They had 21 transfers in this year. They got the JMU kids last year not this year. That's a fifth of the roster. Players want to play for him and get paid from him and the Indiana boosters are willing to provide.
It is mostly coaching. Watching the Final Drive on BTN, where they interviewed their QB, and Roman Hemby who transferred from Maryland, and HC Cig.The coaching at Indiana IS a big part of their climb...so was the influx of cash...My gut tells me that not all cash gets reported as NIL at most schools still anyway. There are still bag men everywhere. I compare it to bookies and legal gambling...Everyone now thinks the numbers they see reported are the true numbers, but online gambling has not put many bookies out of business. It has actually increased illegal gambling as there are now 10x the number of degenerate gamblers.
And to do a comparison of HS ratings at schools, we get it but with the portal- it changes everything. There is a much better chance that picking up a 2-3 star that has had 3 years to develop at a lower division is so much less of a gamble than a kid straight out of HS.
The trick is- coaching to your team strengths. I also think GS 2.0 really needs to evaluate his entire staff. And it is no longer $$$ holding back getting good coaches. And enough of retreads. Even with KC - he may have out offense putting up numbers like we haven't seen since 2008 but even with a QB on pace for 3500 yds, 2 1000 yd WR and another on pace for 700, a 1000 yd RB that may score 18-20 TD's - if play call has been very suspect.
Defense- this year is a fireable year. I can blame it on Smith but we also know who really coaches the D...and this is 2 straight years of this. We are also seeing players regress instead of get better. And ST's - this fair catch **** is just stupid in all ways. We also can't tackle on ST's and forget about kicking.
So yeah- maybe we can spend money like Indiana and bring in a bunch of players but man, I do not know if our current staff would be able to do what Indiana has done with them.
Everything is just guessing even now post revenue sharing. Whether it's 247, on3, AI or whatever...no one knows for sure how much each school is spending until there's transparency like coaching contracts. Hopefully, some day there will be. Only thing we know are approximately where the cap is...how close to the cap everyone is getting, who knows. Some will be right up at it and others spending more than they ever have but maybe not at the cap.Composite rankings include transfer rankings as well as high school rankings. Some players ranked higher out of high school than they did as transfers. And some ranked higher as transfers.
And the $13M spent on Indiana roster is just a guess according to the attached article below. They are “estimates” provided by 17 “stakeholders”. Not debating there was money spent via NIL. I am skeptical of any of the numbers tossed around. And the 13M roster just took it to the roster some are estimating cost 2.5-3x that.

Surprising List Of Biggest NIL Spenders In College Football
It's a well known assumption from college football fans that the Oregon Ducks are in the upper echelon of name, image, and likeness (NIL) investment. Through Niwww.si.com
I don’t think anyone is saying that Indiana hasn’t spent on NIL. But in this case. Specifically the game against Oregon, it is a small piece of the puzzle. Coaching and roster management have been phenomenal. As I said earlier Cignetti took one of the worst performing major d1 schools from 38% winning percentage rob war 90%. That is way more than paying for talent.Cig's a good coach, obviously, but to suggest that Indiana is not spending NIL in amounts far in excess of Rutgers is ludicrous. It's well documented that it was a condition precedent before he was even hired at Indiana. Not only good coaching but that team has talent -- you saw on the field with the naked eye, and. fast too.
This willful ignorance regarding NIL will get you nowhere. Schiano & Co. maybe/probably underperformed, he made more sense pre-NIL, but that's not the only issues with the Rutgers program.
