You mean the guy who was out with injury in game one with a new team?It was a mistake letting Sully go.

Sorry to hear that. Hope he recovers quickly. You mean the guy who was out with injury in game one with a new team?
Not gonna work out.I watched the game. Claiming all of these things as hard truths after 1 game when maybe one of them applies is a reach. I don’t understand the need to proclaim everything as black and white. I don't disagree that after 1 game the qb situation doesn’t look ideal but damn man, it's 1 game. Give it a chance to breathe itself into existence. We'll know more after week 2 (or 3) depending on how things look.
Which is why you don’t pay him a million bucks! The guy's a 22 year old QB with a bunch of starts under his belt. You aren't changing his mechanics in the middle of his senior season. If I had to guess, he's still recovering from the shoulder injury. Just because someone is cleared medically doesn't mean he's going to be the same guy he was before the injury/surgery.
Why don’t we go with a QB that doesn’t have a shoulder problem?Like others, I would be he's not all the way back from surgery yet. Shoulders heal slow. It's really the only thing that makes sense.
11 rushing attempts is asking for him to get hurt. Nearly every running back looked solid. Why have your million dollar qb run 11 times
Remember when Kirk started Petras even though he was hurt, and only replaced him when he couldn’t even throw 5 yards? Why don’t we go with a QB that doesn’t have a shoulder problem?

So if he’s 80% should he be starting? This^^^. Recovery from shoulder surgery is a long, slow process. I know, I've had 2 of them: one just 4 weeks ago. 4 to 5 months before you can reasonably use your arm and a year before you're fully recovered. Even then it's not as strong as was. I'm sure he had the best when it came to rehab/therapy, but I'm not sure it matters. Shoulders are tough to heel up after surgery.

It looked pretty painful every time he attempted to throw.
when I said physically unable to play, I truly meant physically unable to play, like the doctors have to call it. KF will always send the QB out no matter what.Wrong:

Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz: Criticism over handling of QB C.J. Beathard 'offensive'
Calling the comments "surprising and offensive," Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz responded to criticism from former ESPN analyst Ed Cunningham over how he handled QB C.J. Beathard's health.www.espn.com
I have weak faith that Lester is allowed much freedom. What I'd like to know is, who called all the run plays when the backup QB was in the game, was that KF or the O-Coordinator. If you have a hurt QB, wouldn't it make a little sense to get some throwing reps for the backup. KF will never allow a backup QB to look better than the starter. For some reason he would rather lose than have people question his decisions. On defense, everyone knows that Parker calls the shots so Parker can do whatever he wants. I was hoping our O-Coordinator would step up and do the same.
