At one point, I thought we'd catch a break on the shoe-string catch. However, it was overturned after the ball was seen hitting the ground. And so it goes.
Because he can’t throw?11 rushing attempts is asking for him to get hurt. Nearly every running back looked solid. Why have your million dollar qb run 11 times
Then explain today.Gronowski threw for pas completion percentage of 60% in 2024, 68% in 2023 and 65% in 2022. Based on this I think he will be fine. Need to throw the ball to beat ISU. The running game looked great so this should also help the passing game going forward.
Suffered a stinger, then cramps and he wasn't needed to finish out the game. Then explain today.
Hopefully not much or ISU may break him in half.Suffered a stinger, then cramps and he wasn't needed to finish out the game.
(I don't actually know how much of this is true)
Simply put, Ferentz is NOT a HOF member. His overall record is very average considering his losses to one of the weakest divisions Big Ten West. He should not be mentioned in the same breath as Hayden, a true HOFamer. Bowlsby’s pick after he f*^ked up the Stoops interview. He settled for Ferentz with an illustrious career at Maine with a one year career record of 4-7. Like I said he’s not worthy of HOF.Now we know why Ferentz always schedules patsies for the home opener.
HOF coach, my arse!.
HERE COME THE KAREN'SThis should end the KF era if this is our passing game this season with that schedule.
Why do we have such rusty QB's?Trying to be optimistic, he is shaking a lot of rust off.
Petras attended the same camp.This. He went to that passing camp, (Mannings)? and looked great supposedly...
I'm still waiting for Deacon to shake off that rust KF was talking about. Why do we have such rusty QB's?
So what are the odds we get another hof coach? You guys have delusions of grandeurI’d have to agree…
That’s the play where I saw $1.3 million in NIL money going up in smoke. My wife could have completed that pass.I think nerves explain the little wild first throw, and the throws at the ankle. But I don't know what can account for the failed TD pass. It's HARD to throw it that short. I remember Christensen throwing some dirt balls, but that throw was inexplicable.
Lolol.. Look I love what Fry did at Iowa, but " a true HOF coach" and KF is not? Based on what? There win % which you are mocking is basically identical at Iowa and IMHO Kirks played better teams in conference then most of Frys career. Other then the big 2 most of the rest of the league sucked when Fry was there. Why because he had TE's stand up? All of his "innovations" and we still couldn't score points against the good teams. For Christs sake AGAIN go back and look at the game records and not your fuzzy nostalgia memory. Fry won with mostly defense, specials and ball control mostly. Why didn't we score more against good teams or win those 6 or 7 tie games on his record when he was this great offensive innovator?Simply put, Ferentz is NOT a HOF member. His overall record is very average considering his losses to one of the weakest divisions Big Ten West. He should not be mentioned in the same breath as Hayden, a true HOFamer. Pic and eligibility left? That’s the play where I saw $1.3 million in NIL money going up in smoke. My wife could have completed that pass.
Because they didn’t spend a bunch of money to have him hand off every down and he wasn't able to throw it? You're right about getting hurt though. He won't play half the season doing that against B1G competition.11 rushing attempts is asking for him to get hurt. Nearly every running back looked solid. Why have your million dollar qb run 11 times
That was all before surgery on his throwing shoulder.Gronowski threw for pas completion percentage of 60% in 2024, 68% in 2023 and 65% in 2022. Based on this I think he will be fine. Need to throw the ball to beat ISU. The running game looked great so this should also help the passing game going forward.
This is truth.Simply put, Ferentz is NOT a HOF member. His overall record is very average considering his losses to one of the weakest divisions Big Ten West. He should not be mentioned in the same breath as Hayden, a true HOFamer. Bowlsby’s pick after he f*^ked up the Stoops interview. LOL at KF benching the starting QB unless he is physically unable to take the field. MG is our QB until he becomes dismembered. If he plays like that again next week, I hope they put in someone else in the second half.
He has to physically be unable to play before they'll replace him. History has shown that over and over.If he plays like that again next week, I hope they put in someone else in the second half.
It's very damp in Iowa. Why do we have such rusty QB's?
I think that was Cade..I'm still waiting for Deacon to shake off that rust KF was talking about.
It looked pretty painful every time he attempted to throw. He has to physically be unable to play before they'll replace him. History has shown that over and over.
If early in the game you mean from the first series on then yeah. He didn't look right. In all fairness to Gronowski, I AM very much worried about the shoulder.
The comment made on here early in the game about not looking right following a big hit is most unsettling.

We will not win with a strictly one-dimensional offense. That's why.11 rushing attempts is asking for him to get hurt. Nearly every running back looked solid. Why have your million dollar qb run 11 times
It's looks like a short-armed push throwing motion. Terrible mechanics...better get that hashed out quickly. It looked pretty painful every time he attempted to throw.
But at full price! 1/2 D chessHere is the hard truth.
Mac likely had a meniscus graft. You never fully recover.
Gman had shoulder surgery from which you can recover 85 percent but over the course of many years not months
Iowa lately buys injury discounted decent qbs to be game managers not game changers.
Gman only had one p5 game as a bunny. He didn’t do well at all in that one.
He does give Iowa a mobile qb dimension. But he won’t be a game changer.
Get used to it.
I immediately texted my friends, “oh no”, that was it.That’s the play where I saw $1.3 million in NIL money going up in smoke. My wife could have completed that pass.
Texted mine and said you know it’s bad when the FCS school you are playing has a qb that throws better than Iowa the last four years.I immediately texted my friends, “oh no”, that was it.
Fry took over a wreck of a program. Put Iowa "on the map", so to speak.Lolol.. Look I love what Fry did at Iowa, but " a true HOF coach" and KF is not? Based on what? Well said!Yeah, we have definitely been down this road before. All we can do at this point though is hope this time it ends differently. He looked good running the ball at least and apparently Iowa has about 12 running backs who are all pretty good. That probably had more to do with our offensive line being pretty much unchallenged today. It won't be so easy next week.
First game yips from a 5th year Senior? If he's that fragile at home he's gonna crumble on the road. KFz does something to quarterbacks. We've seen this over and over. His footwork was God awful on his first few passes. It was better with the last few and they were much better. Hopefully it's just the first game yips. I guess we'll find out next week.
Don’t hold your breath….we have seen this movie script too many times…If he plays like that again next week, I hope they put in someone else in the second half.
Wrong:He has to physically be unable to play before they'll replace him. History has shown that over and over.
They played OK State last season and he was fine in that. Plenty of QB's look bad against Iowa's defense, especially if the team can't run the ball. None of those things are "the hard truth" especially when your first sentence begins with "Mac likely."Here is the hard truth.
