Yankees couldn't trade him. But should have made a second offer before last year. That would have saved a lot of money and years. Judge is more valuable not because of his name or 99. Hello has much more value for the Yankees for the same reason as the signing of Arod after he went free agent. The YES Network. Jersey's sales make millions. YES Network makes 100s of millions. Yankees need this the big star. Alonso doesn't fit that requirement
No doubt hes a money making machine for them. Besides him not being controversial and also being a very likeable guy

Here's my take his size is his huge advantage but also his disadvantage. If I'm pitching him I'm pitching him inside corner on everything. The batter's box is only so big for him. With his long arms and long swing it would be tough for him to get around on it and keep it fair. He has to clear out his body to snap bat around. His reach is crazy. If you can back him deeper into the box than you start painting the outside corner. Pitch has to be knee high
He does get screwed with his strike zone. Still would take him 100 times over Alonso. My 3 best friends are Mets fans. None of them go to Mets games because of Pete. However the 5 combined kids of theirs went to more Yankees games last year then Citi Field and everyone of those kids are Mets fans. One of them was working for the MLB challenge video room in NYC.

Never been to Citi but I'd like to go. So many people told me the stadium was done so much better than Yankee Stadium. Problem is you go to Citi between all the bridges, tolls & parking and I'd go broke.

I'm also a naturalist New Yankee Stadium is nicer and Old Yankee Stadium was a ******** but it was YANKEE STADIUM. I'd like to sit in RF and do the roll call that would be pretty fun

I did sit in the bleacher seats when I was in HS. Crazy crazy crazy out there. Between the dude with cowbell who you wanted to throw over the side 3 innings into game and this guy walking around with a supermarket paper bag selling joints

Here was his pitch. Get your Yankee Joints.....Big Bad Bambino Bones....Yankee Joints
I watched cops flip him a 20 and buy some Big Bad Bambino Bones off of him

LMAO 1000% true story

I wouldn't say better but I do like both for different reasons. I miss the right field bleachers in the old Yankees Stadium. My older brother and I were regulars in Section 39. I do like the new stadium but I'd go back to Section 39 in a second

Loved the cowbell guy! Ooooh, ooooh ...
He died too early. His son took over during the 90s run and another regular came up with roll call. Brother and I sat two rows in front of David Cone when he was there and started rolling call on opening day.

Nothing beats walking in the concourse at Old Yankee Stadium and it smelled like piss no matter how many times they painted the walls it still smelled like piss.

I will say this the Legends Seats are nice. If only for the restaurant which has every food in the world or the wall of candy on the way out. I've sat in them like 15x. The one time I decided no restaurant and just pounded the hot dogs....they have the absolute best hot dogs must've had a minimum of a dozen that day getting there way early. I Joey Chestnut'd them

Arod not a team fit and take 1 yr was a choke artist come playoff time. The Yanks should have traded Judge but they make way too much money on his NIL(cant believe I just said that). If he didnt have the year he had last year they would have paid alot less.

The point is they have invested so much money on those 3 players and not 1 will end up being nearly worth it. 10 yr 30 mil+ contracts are just plain stupid. Judge cannot stay healthy now what makes you think he is going to be health when he is 35. They cannot build a supporting cast when they spend so much

At the end of the day you can get a 25hr guy and 100+ rbi guy for substantially less. for the money you invested in him you could have 2 or 3 of them. Then maybe the Yanks wouldnt be in Last place...same correlation with the Angels
What? You've gotta be just making this stuff up as you go, man. That pool of players last year was 11 guys, Judge included, in ALL of baseball. They're some of the highest paid players in the game, or like Pete, will soon be.

And enough with the RBI nonsense, please. It's one stat that is purely a measure of how many guys in front of them get on base. It's a reflection of the OBP of the rest of the roster, particularly the 3 or 4 right in front of the player in question. I get you don't want to let iot go, your entire troll job is based on that one stat, it's the only one where Pete leads Aaron.

There are only a handful of offensive stats that mean anything to me

RBI's
Clutch Hitting
Runs Scored
Hits
Walks
On Base Percentage
KO's

They tell you all you need to know about a batter. Czx you are probably a WAR guy. People who had nothing better to do with their lives thought that 1 up. The WAR got Mike Trout 3 MVPs w/o having a truly great year. Though he scored alot of runs

I'm pretty sure Judge lead the league in all them last year and most of them in his first full year. Alonso has never lead multiple stats. Just one stats twice. I have no idea of your love for him.

Here goes another trip. My brother and his girlfriend took me and my sister to a yankee game. He was probably 19 or 20. I'm 9 yrs younger so was in the neighborhood of 12 my sister 13. Well his car breaks down in garage right next to stadium. They wouldnt let us stay in garage and wait for ride to come from NJ. Game ended like 11pm we waited outside the stadium until 1:30AM for ride to come. They wouldnt let us wait inside the stadium at the entrance leaving us in the Bronx to fend for ourselves. 19 or 20 yr old his girlfriend and 2 young kids what could possibly go wrong. There were bad thunderstorms while we were out there. The people at the door actually told us the only thing saving us from the gangs was the thunderstorms they weren't out as they left us out there. Waited by the Big Bat.

It's funny- prior to last yar- Even as a Met fan, I always said I wanted to see what a healthy Judge could do in a year - and he showed us. And this year's injury is different then all the others he had- it was a freak accident that would be similar to being hit by a pitch and breaking a bone. So, with luck- we all get to see a healthy Judge for a number of years going forward. Baseball needs a guy like him
As for your last point- why can't a Yankee fan like and respect Pete? He is similar in many ways as Judge- bigger than life(literal) and a likable guy that comes to the ball park to play and he plays very well. Not to like a guy that you can write down 40/120 for every year just doesn't make sense. I am going with that GK has just pissed you off. lol

And back to stats - Pete came into the league in 2019
Let's look at runs/hits/XBHs/HR/RBI/BA - Pete has lead Aaron in those stats per season more than Aaron has lead Pete.
And during that same time Pete has scored 5 more runs, has 80 more hits, 50 more XBH, 22 more HR and 112 more RBI

During the time Pete has been in the league- who has better earned their money. You can't even debate it.

So far, Judge's career has been 3 great years out of 7 and Pete has 4 great years out of 5

Ok what happens at the end of their careers and Pete has 200 more HR's 500 more RBI's More Runs Scored, more hits etc. You cant be the best if your not playinnnn. Judge has already missed like a combined 1-1/2 yrs of his career it's only going to get worse not better as he ages. He will not be playing OF in a YR or 2
1st base or DH. I used to play softball all over the country to the tune of at least 350 games a year. He is right at the age where my body broke down and got bounced from the team I was bouncing players from for 8 yrs. Getting old and losing skills is very humbling.

So- to get back to the original OP-
It seems that Judge just gets better pitches to hit when there is no one one. And when someone is on or in scoring position- a pitcher j would rather mistake with a ball in the dirt rather that try to paint the black.
The whole who is better is something completely different.
Judge is tge better all around playervwhen healthy and could be a top 20 player ever, again, when healthy.
Pete is on the way to a HOF career with a super consistent power and run production that could also be in the top 20 ever.
And he just happens to pretty much play every day.
Both guys are guys you would love in your lineup. And while I lived tge question discussed by tge OP, I always hate comments and or posts that make anyone try to find a negative on a great player.

Though Judge is the better baseball player, if I were GK, I would come back with "Call me when Judge puts together 3 years with more than 500 ABs...
Herman Munster will never put 500 AB's 3 years in a row. Pretty much a part-time fielder, mostly DH here on out since they can't trust the guy from getting hurt in a variety of ways. As a power hitting CF his value was justified, now not so much. Over paid extended way too long just to sell the "brand" and a few more tee shirts. If it wasn't for a public outcry from letting him walk, the Yankees came pretty close to doing so.They tested the waters saw the reaction and grudgingly gave him what he wanted. They knew the West Coast was willing to do so.

I had this discussion with Zap about baseball and also about softball as he is or was playing like 50 or 60 & over elite team. I'm done my body is beat up....but here it goes a guy hitting solo HR's does nothing to demoralize a team or pitcher. He and the team just resets there's no one on base. When you want to BEAT a team mentally and physically you have to play small ball and run the bases 1st to 3rd, home to 2nd, 2nd to home etc. The team will play on their heels and you never get the opportunity to reset as players are rounding the bases. Honestly that is why they dont care if Judge hits solo shots. Hes not going to hit 3 solos a game generally it will be one & done. Any team in MLB can overcome that. I think Alonso brings the added dimension of playing small ball to get runners across outside of being just a raw power guy. Judge had a great year last year but he gas never done it back to back. 21 was a good solid yr but wasnt a great year. I honestly believe that Alonso can bring Pujols RBI #'s for like 10-12 straight yrs providing he stays healthy. I dont think Judge can he cant stay healthy unfortunately injuries come when your 6'7 285lbs and I really think the Big Digit in his foot is going to give him issues from here on out.

The issue with the Yankees time & time again is that they pay out these ridiculous contracts and then get burned by them because the supporting staff sucks. What made the Mets so good in the 80's is they had the best farm system in the Majors and brought up their players and sprinkled in some better players. The Yankees just try to buy everyone and usually at or past their prime. I get paying Judge he is the most popular player in the game and they make alot of money off him win or lose...but the analytics of the contract are bizarre at best. Your paying a player $40 mil a yr when he cannot stay healthy in his 20's what makes you think he is going to play 80 or 90 games a year let alone 150 when hes 35-40. Extremely stupid contract. They should have traded him and got 3 or 4 really good players to build your team instead of just keep investing in has beens

If you are truely a Yankee fan, you are definitely the loathing type. For instance very curious why you use a farm system example of how good the Mets were in the 80's instead of the Yankees dynasty in the late 90s. Makes little sense. In this thread you cherry pick stats to denigrate Judge and promote Alonso. You highlight the piss smell at old Yankee Stadium. You denigrate Nettles and Guidry for not signing an autograph. You talk up how great it was hanging with retired Mets players and even how hot their wives were. You even denigrate the bleacher cowbell as well as the staff at old YS because your ride home from a game was late so you were forced to wait outside the stadium as a kid late at night after the stadium closed. You can always switch your fandom if it is that miserable for you.

Farm system was heated debates going back & forth with my brotherinlaw. He was right they had the best farm system they didnt buy players they brought them up thru their system The Yanks when they worked their farm with Jete, Posada, Mariano were same. The Yanks get themselves in trouble every time by overpaying and giving these longevity contracts that tie up their finances and having overpaid players that cant perform that your now stuck with. I'm surprised Cashen has kept his job for so long when he was young he was on his game but like the rest of the mgmt organization they suck. It's time for a change in leadership

Heres what pisses me off about the Yankees. Right now they are getting has beens. The one trade that got me over all the rest was getting Joey Gallo. You already have 8 guys swinging for the fences why did you need another guy that's going to do nothing but swing for HR if you are lucky bat .200 who is going and is g koi ing to strike out 35-50% it the Yankees truly want to contend for another Ring they will go out and get dudes that can hit singles, doubles run the bases and sprinkle in guys who can go deep. This team has been so imbalanced for years...uf they do happen to get guys on base the swing for fence guys every pitch KO. People used to take pride in getting runners over hitting the opposite way, shortening the swing to plate the guys on base.

I agree its time to move on from Cashman but likely will not happen. I think you are aiming at the wrong guy (Judge) when talking about wasted salary. As I posted earlier, Yanks have over $110m in guys on IL or not on roster. That doesn't forgive the Mets bad moves. They are paying close to $160m in retained salary this year for players no longer on the roster. They even have comnined deferred salary for 60 year old Bonilla and Saberhagen of almost $1.5
M. Note that Alonso will likely get $30m per season over 6-7 years. Just the way many owners are spending these days.

Pete's batting .226! Do you really want him to bat more??

Career Pete Alonso has less RBIs per at bat then Judge. I thought you were about "White I'm about body of work not just 1 season" lol clown. Cherry pick and fabrication isn't your strong suit. Body of work does not favor Alonso. But keep trying Mets fan!
You make this all too easy...The answer to question one is hell yes- he is 2nd in MLB in both HR and RBI.

As for part 2- you like to bust GK on his facts when you can't even get yours right.
Judge has 3562 AB's in his career with 559 RBI
Alonso has 2841 AB's in his career and 489 RBI

I will let you do the math. I am going to trust you can do that.
