Well my argument is they didnt order yet. The place was empty and an hr later Nettles chasing tail at the bar and in the most famous Yankees restaurant. They went there to be recognizedNot sure what to even say...I had a time after a flight back from Jamaica that Patrick Ewing walked to baggage with me and my sons just talking to them the entire way and having a blast but when we got to baggage, my youngest asked if he could take a picture and get an autograph and Patrick told him he couldn't because if he did so, he would get barraged with out AG seekers and he would never get out of there. Son was a little disappointed but we understood and respected his wishes.
Sometimes, you also need to understand that these guys may just their time to themselves every once in a while and not take it so personal.
I have heard a few times that some of the old time Yankees could be pricks but I still just try to understand that they are all human. Having sat with many professional athletes having pizza or beer or BBQ's at my house, you come to understand that.Well my argument is they didnt order yet. The place was empty and an hr later Nettles chasing tail at the bar and in the most famous Yankees restaurant. They went there to be recognized
I've also had the experience of hanging out with the 86 Mets at Doubletree in Somerset they were doing a reunion signing show. For 3 days i hung out on the bar with. Hojo, Wally Backman, Danny Heep, Kevin Elster & Gary Carter for the 1st day also Ron Darling. My 2 friends were huge Mets fans. Darryl Straw came out of show and had a bodyguard who blocked me but Darryl said absolutely not a took pic with me
I told Danny Heep & Hojo my story about Nettles & Guidry and they both said that would not happen with this group of guys and they should have signed. Those guys were awesome, very personable they bought rounds we bought rounds. We all sat at same table in bar for 3 days and watched Jets playoff game together on Sunday. They made us feel like we were part of the Mets and vice versa as our friend group. Those guys hands down the best group of guys ever. I'll never forget how Elster came into hotel. Goubilini hat on backwards drinking a can if Bud with the other 5 in the plastic 6 pack beer holder in the other hand
Kevin & I were on phones next to each other calling in football bets. Great great dudes...warmed me up to the Mets
Yeah I get it but they were long retired. It's not like they were active. They just burst my bubble on them. If I had gone over to the table again an asked yeah I'm an *** but i asked their waitress if they could just sign a napkin for me. I thought I was very respectful of their privacyI have heard a few times that some of the old time Yankees could be pricks but I still just try to understand that they are all human. My wife and I also spent a day at Mickey Mantles for lunch when Bill Mazer was doing his show every afternoon on WFAN. That particular day the in house guest was Denny McLain and back then Bill asked Denny some pretty tough questions on his prison term.Actually my other 2 favorites met on my mid 20's in Mickey Mantles restaurant. Greg Nettles & Ron Guidry. The place was pretty empty they sat at table like 10 ft away from me. I went up and introduced myself to them and said the were my 2 favorites and went to the bathroom. Sent waitress over there to ask for their autographs didnt want to intrude. They said no they were eating. They didnt even order or have drinks yet....I was steamed. When leaving by door the mgr came up to us asked us how we enjoyed. Said it was awesome except for them not signing autograph for me. He went into his spiel you have to understand they are here to eat...and I said they were not eating and was very respectful and they were here for the attn. 2 famous yankees in the most famous Yankees restaurant. He sent the waitress over for their autographs for me. They signed she brought back...as they were looking crumpled them up and threw on floor and flipped the bird..of course my buddy gobbled them up. We were talking for like 10 minutes with mgr by door and the married Greg Nettles the man there to eat was trolling the bar area looking for a piece of *** trying to capitalize on his yankee stature. Cant stand them 2 from that day on. Does not take much to sign a name and I was the ONLY person to ask the restaurant part was empty except for like 4 or 5 tables max
Yes I'm laughing at you and what ever source you are using! 317 at bats idiot. You obviously are not getting it. It's not really difficult to see. I do not know how to post picture but all you have to do is go to Aaron Judge CBS split stats for 2023 and you can see how much I'm making up the stats. Just the facts my man they hit you like a shovel to the face. You do realize that at bats for runners on base and runners in scoring position would overlap right
Are you haaha'ing now

Doesn't make any sense. If a guy comes up with runners on in scoring position then that all it should be in RISP count. Looks like he is using Cashman's analytics team to come up with these numbers.I'm a Mets fan. Judge is better.
317 total ABs but if you break it down between none on, runners on, and RISP then some AB's will be double counted. I think that is the point greenknight is making. Runners on includes someone being on 1B where RISP obviously doesn't so 1 AB can fall in both categories.
Yes and the figure he provided was RISP but he also had a stat that showed with just runners on base and a third with no one on and you counted them all together which would overinflate the AB count at that point. Math.Doesn't make any sense. If a guy comes up with runners on in scoring position then that all it should be in RISP count. All around Judge is a better player. Easily an MVP last year also has a 2nd and a 4th in voting. Pete's best is an 8th. His other years no votes.
So he is double counting. So if Judge makes an out with runners on 1st and 2nd he is double counting a single negative twice. Knew it was bad math.Yes and the figure he provided was RISP but he also had a stat that showed with just runners on base and a third with no one on and you counted them all together which would overinflate the AB count at that point. Math.
I have no dog in the fight between who is better because it is Judge but just showing you why your total is off from his.
Judge is a better player but maybe not a better investment. Only because of injury. So he is double counting. So if Judge makes an out with runners on 1st and 2nd he is double counting a single negative twice. Knew it was bad math.
Have no idea if he is double dipping to the positive side but since a player only hits .250/.300 then it has a much larger impact on the negative. Horrible math.Judge is a better player but maybe not a better investment. Only because of injury.
It does bare a fair question of who someone would prefer to sign right now for the next 10 years. I don't believe there is a wrong answer.
Question on the numbers- if he is double dipping on the outs if a man is on 1st and 2nd, would he also be double dipping on the hits as well?
I once hit on the fiancé of the comedian/actor Tom Greene at a party both were attending and it worked...true story lolYeah I get it but they were long retired. It's not like they were active. They just burst my bubble on them. If I had gone over to the table again an asked yeah I'm an *** but i asked their waitress if they could just sign a napkin for me. To be fair Guidry did not actively chase tail at the bar he hung back but Nettles was full on hunting going up to every girl whether they were with someone or not. Hojo & Heep were so dead on coolest dudes ever. I even tried to pick up Hojo's wife inadvertantly. She was hot.
I started talking to her and she asked me my name and me being who I am came out and said one of the 86 mets before I could stop it. She says really which one thinking real fast the only one balding was Hojo so I said Hojo. Shes like ohhhh really. I'm like yeah. Shes says well I'm Mrs Hojo. So I said you should recognize me. I didnt really believe her so she pulls out her Driver License and shows me. I talked to her for over an hour. She was really cool and I'm not gonna lie I think interested. Saw her the next day she came right up to immediately busting my chops. I told her I should have went with Darryl Strawberry. Both dieing laughing.
I did ask her if by chance I didnt happen to pick the one woman in the country that was actually married to Hojo would it have worked. She said maybe she said I was really cute & nice.
Made the mistake of telling my town friends 20 yrs later and they bought me a Hojo Jersey for my birthday lol
going back to GN's post on the splits- it is a fair assessment as you need to look at all 3 splits separately. Adding them up doesn't work but separate- they tell a good storyRunner in scoring position.
11 for 47 1 HR 20 RBI
Runners on base
30 for 115. 9 HR 36 RBI
Nobody on base
50 for 189. 22 HR 22 RBI
Production goes down as runners get closer to home
I'm pretty certain CBS sports us pretty reputable. I'm not using anything but they are providing with their splits...provided for both Judge & Alonso. Sorry but Alonso killing it Judge is floundering when it counts. Why do you keep insinuating I'm making up #'s they are there in black & white for u to look at. Stop making excuses peruse on your ownYes I'm laughing at you and what ever source you are using! 317 at bats idiot.

I think any investment in any sports player for 10 years is a bad investment if it's all guaranteed. With one exception. Bryce Harper's contract was genius
I'm going to laugh at you again ESPN HAS THE SAME SPLITS. Learn to work the tabsI'm pretty certain CBS sports us pretty reputable. That is one of the dumbest things I just read...because I hung out with former MLB baseball players I'm not a Yankee fan. You've been proven wrong and that's what you come back with. They were much cooler & nicer than Nettles & Guidry. I was actually going to give Guidry's autograph to my older brother that was his favorite playerHanging out with the Mets and you want us to believe you're a Yankees fan...not!
I can smell the ******** from here. Alonso > judge, whacky ab numbers, creatine got him stronger in 2 days, Howard Johnson’s wife said he’s cute.Hanging out with the Mets and you want us to believe you're a Yankees fan...not!
Haha. Because you used numbers to make it look worse. What a clown! Double counting the negative. Call complete bullcrap on you being a Yankees fan. First you totally dismiss Judges history making season where he lead the league in multiple categories for 2nd time saying "White I'm about body of work not just 1 season" However, you are using data from from less then a full season to falsely prove your point. Love the way you cherry picks and completely lie.I'm pretty certain CBS sports us pretty reputable. I'm not using anything but they are providing with their splits...provided for both Judge & Alonso. Haha. You are so mad you can't see sarcasm. Can't believe you fell for it! Though Judge is the better baseball player, if I were GK, I would come back with "Call me when Judge puts together 3 years with more than 500 ABs...Haha. Lol that's great. I'm telling you I peaked her interest. She wasI once hit on the fiancé of the comedian/actor Tom Greene at a party both were attending and it worked...true story lol

Pete's batting .226! Do you really want him to bat more??Though Judge is the better baseball player, if I were GK, I would come back with "Call me when Judge puts together 3 years with more than 500 ABs...
And if I were GK id stop lying & admit being a Mutt fan.Lol that's great. I'm telling you I peaked her interest. She was
Lol good point
270 with runners on 109 RBIs probably heading for 50+ HR's and 130+ RBI's 100+ runs scored absolutely I want him batting more. Or would I rather have Judge hit an HR every 10 or 11 games with 1 RBI and going 0-4 against your biggest rival and stranding 4 runners in game 1 of a DH tonight. I'll take my chances with AlonsoPete's batting .226! Do you really want him to bat more??
Career Pete Alonso has less RBIs per at bat then Judge. I thought you were about "White I'm about body of work not just 1 season" lol clown. Cherry pick and fabrication isn't your strong suit. Body of work does not favor Alonso. But keep trying Mets fan!270 with runners on 109 RBIs probably heading for 50+ HR's and 130+ RBI's 100+ runs scored absolutely I want him batting more. Lol sorry to disappoint you but diehard Yankee Fan...not a fan of Last Place. Many changes need to be made. I give St Louis credit they let go of 1 of the top 10 hitters of all time in his prime. The Yankees should have done the same they'd have a much better team today. It's called VALUE. They will never get VALUE from him. Judge will just be another player in a long line of players that will not earn their paycheck the latter half of contract. Hes certainly not earning it this year...still sitting 8 games w/o a HR in which he has an RBI......8 games that's pathetic. If his name wasnt Aaron Judge hed be goneAnd if I were GK id stop lying & admit being a Mutt fan.
The 'Lol good point' sealed it.
I'll give you 100,% credit on this post. Totally agree. There will be good/great players wearing 99 on most teams soon. The 0 and 00 never caught on. But 99 sure has. BTW its spelled GENIUS. 100% just busting your chops, I hate the spelling police on this board. If your phone allows it, it's good for me.I will say this about Judge...6'7 285 hes a beast. He will have to drop 25-30lbs if he wants longevity. But arguably his greatest achievement. Whoever told him to go with #99 whether it be him, his agent or the Yankees is a GENIOUS. He took the furthest # away from every good to great player before him. He owns 99 and every single person after him will be wearing his number pure GENIOUS
Seeing as Alonso has been in the league for 4yrs and 57 game covid year. His stats are much better than Judges comparable 5 yrs. Problem is is that Judge has had 4 comparable covid yrs. Cant drive in many runs leaning against the netting/railing in front if the dugout 60-70 games a year. The Yankees screwed up royally not trading him...they 100% would have if they didnt make so much money off his name & #. There was zero chance they could trade after last season there would be no fans there this yrCareer Pete Alonso has less RBIs per at bat then Judge. Yankees couldn't trade him. But should have made a second offer before last year. That would have saved a lot of money and years. Judge is more valuable not because of his name or 99. Hello has much more value for the Yankees for the same reason as the signing of Arod after he went free agent. The YES Network. Jersey's sales make millions. YES Network makes 100s of millions. Yankees need this the big star. Alonso doesn't fit that requirementSeeing as Alonso has been in the league for 4yrs and 57 game covid year. His stats are much better than Judges comparable 5 yrs. Problem is is that Judge has had 4 comparable covid yrs. Cant drive in many runs leaning against the netting/railing in front if the dugout 60-70 games a year. He was very doubtful coming up through the minors. Not that big of a power hitter when he was young. Disagree on your weight loss comment. Unlike Stanton, Judge has dialed back his work outs. He is just a huge guy naturally.Lol hated 99 when he 1st appeared. GENIUS!!!!
Almost like he knew he was going to be a star. That was definitely planned
Here's my take his size is his huge advantage but also his disadvantage. If I'm pitching him I'm pitching him inside corner on everything. The batter's box is only so big for him. With his long arms and long swing it would be tough for him to get around on it and keep it fair. He has to clear out his body to snap bat around. His reach is crazy. If you can back him deeper into the box than you start painting the outside corner. Pitch has to be knee highHe was very doubtful coming up through the minors. Though, on years like last year- you really couldnt pitch him anywhere. he was not only hitting for power but hitting smart as well. Here's my take his size is his huge advantage but also his disadvantage.
