Maybe Judge's RBI total would be higher if he had men on base in front of him.
Batting 2nd with a home run guy in front of him. Did Ruth bat 2nd. how about Dimaggio
Lou Gehrig, Mantle, Berra. Maybe these analytics should be shoved somewhere. Cashman took over a great system but he
he is obsessed with changing the game that was working fine for well over a hundred years.
Freddie Freeman bats 2
Devers bats 2
Julio Rodrigues bats 2
The Yankees are not alone in batting their best guy 2.

The haven't but the point was batting number 3 hitters in the 2 slot. I think it is stupid in all their cases.
100% agree. Best hitter should bat #3 or #4. End of story for me. All this reinventing the game with analytics drives me crazy. Most consistent hitter #3 for most situations, best power hitter #4 without exception for me.

Though, in the case of guys like Judge and Trout/SO- being both the best power and best hitter- they can bat 3rd.
Freeman is tge perfect 3 hitter.
Even the Mets piss me off- Nimmo/McNeil/Lindor/Alonso should be written in stone every day.

Judge 31 games 15 RBI's. That's counting 3HR games with 6 RBI's....all RBI's on 11 HR's. The Yankees will never learn. Signing Aroid, Stanton and him have destroyed team for many years

Your take is almost believable but then I realized you are the same poster with the following gem.....

Temple is better. Play calling is 100x better. They mix it up. They run it inside, outside passing is mixing it up. There QB is making plays

While I get the original question in the OP- this take is just silly.
First- forget Judge but Arod's first 7 years had 2 MVPs and the following averages per season 107 runs, 38 HR, 120 RBI and about a .290/.390/.950
And while the ratio of HR/RBI is curious with Judge- he was a must sign. Now- the jury is out on his health but can't question his worth.

Stanton- he is the only one that really fits the statement

Arod not a team fit and take 1 yr was a choke artist come playoff time. The Yanks should have traded Judge but they make way too much money on his NIL(cant believe I just said that). If he didnt have the year he had last year they would have paid alot less.

The point is they have invested so much money on those 3 players and not 1 will end up being nearly worth it. 10 yr 30 mil+ contracts are just plain stupid. Judge cannot stay healthy now what makes you think he is going to be health when he is 35. They cannot build a supporting cast when they spend so much

At the end of the day you can get a 25hr guy and 100+ rbi guy for substantially less. for the money you invested in him you could have 2 or 3 of them. Then maybe the Yanks wouldnt be in Last place...same correlation with the Angels

First off the game has changed since Arod played and not for the better. So comparison is stupid even though it was not 50 years ago. It seems like it.
Judge lead the league in all these categories last year. Hit 62 HR, 131 rbi, 133 runs scored, 111 walks, .425 OBP, .686 slg, 1.111 OPS, 211 OPS+, and 391 total basis. That's 9 categories. I don't know if that has been done before. Add in he batted .311. Arod never had that complete a season but his 2007 season has better runs, RBIs and avg. Both were monster years!
Pete Alonso has only lead the league in just a single category twice. HRs his rookie year, RBIs last year. Comparing him to Judge is laughable. As far a Stanton, an insane acquisition by the Yankees. For many reasons. Besides his salary. He is a bad defensive player and gets hurt looking in mirror. Judge's 3 major injuries were all baseball related. Hit by pitch, diving for a ball and the Dodgers not locking the outfield wall gate.

White I'm about body of work not just 1 season. Alonso has a better body of work productivity wise. It's about plating runners. $40 mil. 31HR's and 58 RBI's is not getting it done. I'm not sure what you have to argue about. 7 or 8 guys on a team should have those RBI stats regardless of HR's. Judge has plated a runner 8 games in which he has not homered this whole entire year

Been answered multiple times. Have to have guys on base to bring them in.
I kind of like Piniata Pete but cmon not on same level as Judge.
And he’s got no glove.

Arod did all his damage batting 3/4/5 in the order. First inning 90% of the time Judge has no one to drive in. The only team that it works for is the Phillies. Schwarber leads off and has 43HRs. Sparks up the crowd.

Runner in scoring position.
11 for 47 1 HR 20 RBI
Runners on base
30 for 115. 9 HR 36 RBI
Nobody on base
50 for 189. 22 HR 22 RBI

Production goes down as runners get closer to home

Those numbers most likely explain the reason but...there are other good points. If batting 3rd or 4th, his AB's with runners on base and in scoring position would be more often. And his RBI total would be higher.

Ok but let's compare Altuve lead off hitter twice had 31 HR's in a season. 74 & 83 RBI's in both those seasons. Judge is NOT producing with runners on base. It's not really hard to see with the stats provided. All or nothing launch angle exit velocity hitter lol

I'm not sure what difference that it makes whether he is batting #1 or #9. He is not hitting with men on base. The fact that he is being defended for plating runners in only 8 games in which he has not hit a home run is pathetic. Would never even think it was possible to have only 58 RBI's on 31 dingers

Can't be Most Valuable on your team if you can't stay on the field. Now Dominguez looks like Judge 2.0 in that category, just saying. How often does a non pitcher need Tommy John? This one is a head scratcher.

Who gives a flying F about a WAR. Whoever came up with these stupid launch speed, launch angles, WAR etc is an idiot at the end of the day it is about 3 things. BA, RUN SCORED & RBI's . WAR is for the fantasy dudes. Runs scored & RBI's are for W's And the facts are Alonso plates more guys than Judge. Do you understand he has RBI's in only 8 games in which he has not hit an HR that is NOT productivity
Interesting, because the Baltimore Orioles based their entire rebuild on player WAR and advanced analytics. Ironically it’s the same front office that built the Houston Astro’s…

But hey if you wanna stick your head in the sand and act like this is 1978 baseball still have at it!

I took the entire thread to be anti-Judge agenda driven and he pretty much showed his hand. The issue with the Yankees is not Judge.....it comes down to bad decisions elsewhere. Yankees have close to $110M in salary this year tied up in these guys.....
  • Donaldson & Hicks - $31M not even on the roster
  • Rodon, Severino, Stanton & Montas - $77M on the IL or performing terribly

Add DJ , who seems to fallen off a cliff since his contract extension.
And Rizzo was the worst hitter in MLB after his hot early start.
Teams shouldn't even pitch to Judge.

The issue with the Yankees time & time again is that they pay out these ridiculous contracts and then get burned by them because the supporting staff sucks. What made the Mets so good in the 80's is they had the best farm system in the Majors and brought up their players and sprinkled in some better players. The Yankees just try to buy everyone and usually at or past their prime. I get paying Judge he is the most popular player in the game and they make alot of money off him win or lose...but the analytics of the contract are bizarre at best. Your paying a player $40 mil a yr when he cannot stay healthy in his 20's what makes you think he is going to play 80 or 90 games a year let alone 150 when hes 35-40. Extremely stupid contract. They should have traded him and got 3 or 4 really good players to build your team instead of just keep investing in has beens

Cannot argue Arod I just couldnt stand him at all. One of the greatest ever but with an asterisk for being Aroid. Honestly I'm not going to lie if I could make 5Mil a year clean or make 30 mil a yr performing enhancing drugs. I'm drugging up with the knowledge I'm going to get caught and have zero chance getting into HOF but have a nice bankroll to fall back or at least I think I would not a big drug in my system guy. Did creatine for like a month to jack
weights then got off. My buddy I was lifting with was hitting the creatine & andro together at same time. Creatine was crazy 1st 2 days I took 1st day of benching went from like 245 once to 275 3x and maxed out 1 rep 295. Maxed out at like 345 or 350 b4 I got off. Never came close to that again. Stayed under 300 would max at 295 for maybe 2 or 3 reps while on creatine was over 10 reps.

Greendik def not a NYY fan
Been a yankee fan since 4 or 5. Went to every oldtimers game from 4 to like 15. Caught Paul Molitor BP HR ball at game. Zaps dad signed it for me going into Old Timers game outside gate heading into Yankre stadium after Roger Maris gave me the big *** You. I was like 11 or 12. I had my ball my marker and Roger Maris pushed my arm out of the way. Yogi was behind him saw what happened and came up and signed my ball and said "here ya go kid" Yogi went out of his way to come up to me. I didnt ask him. My prized posession. I was friendly with Phil Rizzuto cheap cheap man but was very nice. His wife was the boss. A number of times I went to Carsten's in elizabeth for yankee autographs. Mickey Rivers, paul blair, lou Pinella, cliff johnson( big dude) Larry McCall remember his name to this day he was a no name and thanked me for taking like 10 of his autographs when nobody took his. I still have them all. Almost 50 yrs L8R. The only one I wished I got that I didn't was Oscar Gamble my favorite yankee who would talk to us in on deck circle and during BP

Actually my other 2 favorites met on my mid 20's in Mickey Mantles restaurant. Greg Nettles & Ron Guidry. The place was pretty empty they sat at table like 10 ft away from me. I went up and introduced myself to them and said the were my 2 favorites and went to the bathroom. Sent waitress over there to ask for their autographs didnt want to intrude. They said no they were eating. They didnt even order or have drinks yet....I was steamed. When leaving by door the mgr came up to us asked us how we enjoyed. Said it was awesome except for them not signing autograph for me. He went into his spiel you have to understand they are here to eat...and I said they were not eating and was very respectful and they were here for the attn. 2 famous yankees in the most famous Yankees restaurant. He sent the waitress over for their autographs for me. They signed she brought back...as they were looking crumpled them up and threw on floor and flipped the bird..of course my buddy gobbled them up. We were talking for like 10 minutes with mgr by door and the married Greg Nettles the man there to eat was trolling the bar area looking for a piece of *** trying to capitalize on his yankee stature. Cant stand them 2 from that day on. Does not take much to sign a name and I was the ONLY person to ask the restaurant part was empty except for like 4 or 5 tables max

Not sure what to even say...I had a time after a flight back from Jamaica that Patrick Ewing walked to baggage with me and my sons just talking to them the entire way and having a blast but when we got to baggage, my youngest asked if he could take a picture and get an autograph and Patrick told him he couldn't because if he did so, he would get barraged with out AG seekers and he would never get out of there. Son was a little disappointed but we understood and respected his wishes.

Haha. Can't admit you made that crap up.
Current at bats is 317. You are still way off!
You obviously are not getting it. It's not really difficult to see. I do not know how to post picture but all you have to do is go to Aaron Judge CBS split stats for 2023 and you can see how much I'm making up the stats. Just the facts my man they hit you like a shovel to the face. You do realize that at bats for runners on base and runners in scoring position would overlap right

Are you haaha'ing now
