Why can't you have both? The bar shouldn't be so low.Players all love Howard supposedly. He has recruited well. I’d rather have my coach push an opponents coach then push his own player during halftime of a NCAA game on the National stage.

What did he tweet at Tiquan?Does he have any good takes? That crap he tweeted to Tiquan Underwood was awful. Guy needs to be taken down more than a few pegs.
You want the wisc assistant to get suspended for getting hit? Lol he didn't swing at anyoneObservation and Questions:
It is obvious that Howard did not like the timeout call with 15 seconds left and said so to Gard.
I am not certain, but Gard tried to talk to Howard.
We do not know what Howard said to Gard and Gard said to Howard before they were separated.
What we don't know is why Howard came forward and slapped the Wisconsin Assistant coach.
Did the Wisconsin Assistant Coach (ex-Wisconsin player) say something to provoke Howard into coming forward to slap him in the face?
My Opinion:
The situation was already heated, so assistant coaches on both sides should keep their mouth shut and keep their players away from the opposing players and coaches.
There is no excuse for fighting during or after a basketball game.
I would not be surprised to see both Howard and the Wisconsin Assistant Coach suspended.
The players that threw punches should also be suspended.
The Big Ten should investigate this situation further from start to finish (game through the end of the incident after the game).
Phil would just take over I would thinkHave a hunch Michigan AD has already called John Beilein.
Howard full court pressing scrubs with seconds left is what was Bush league and that started everything. If they want to play to the whistle than Wisconsin can too. Can't have it both ways. You press and expect them to give up. That'd nonsensicalCalling that timeout is bush league and then making it a big deal that Howard didn’t want to shake his hand.
Not saying they are equal.
Huh? LolGard wasn’t willing to be the better man. You are winning by 17. Let it go. Had he let it go there is no altercation.
You have this soooo backwards. Further proof it's just Howard being a jerk is he called a late timeout against us. Complete hypocritePressing down 15 isn’t bush league. Calling a TO is. Just my opinion.
Expected. They are afraid of him.Shame on Michigan AD!!!! Part of the problem!! Instigated? Are you kidding me. AD should be suspended!
I assume Mich was pressing to try to cut the deficit so it wouldn't look so bad. Gard called the TO to reset the 10 second clock with his scrubs to preserve a dominant win. Howard is responsible for this end game, not shaking hands on the line is classless and he severely overreacted to Gard's contact by grabbing his shirt and putting his finger in his face, almost making contact, then the full force slap to a coach. The only thing Gard did wrong was to try to stop him from walking by without shaking.Pressing down 15 isn’t bush league. Calling a TO is. Just my opinion.
have to admit Gard didn’t handle things like he should have.
Gard called the TO to reset the backcourt clock to 10 seconds. Gard was trying to help his backups/walkons. Gard gets to coach his team, right? How is that bush league?Pressing down 15 isn’t bush league. Calling a TO is. Just my opinion.

Scarlet Blind fits your post quite well.1)Wisconsin called TWO Timeouts last minute of the game.
2)One at 48.6 after Chucky Hepburn hit a three with 5 second left on the shot clock up 16 to get it to 19, to get 5 scrubs come off the.bench some meaningful experience with 48.6 left vs Michigan as a FU to Howard for last year's blowout win over Wisconsin.
3)Other 3 meetings,
19-20 Wisconsin 81 @ Michigan 74
****20-21 Wisconsin 54 @ Michigan 77**** &
Michigan 67 @ Wisconsin 59.
Wisconsin 23 31 54
Michigan 40 37 77
They were up 37 at one point 69-32, 10 minutes left, 71-38, 7:10 left, Guess what Juwan brought in the scrubs at the 4 minute media timeout, 3:26 left 75-48, up 27. Not one TO the final 3:26. Gard intentionally called a time out after a Chucky Hepburn 3 to get 5 scrubs in to prove a point. Juwan did it at the right time in the game. 2nd game sweeping Wisconsin, no incidents
(Jordan Davis 20 games 21-22, played in 2 reg reason games vs Michigan
Carter Gilmore 20 games 21-22 first Michigan game
3rd with 7 games in 21-22(1st Michigan),
4th with 5 games in 21-22(1st Michigan)
5th with 3 games in 21-22(1st Michigan).
This is acceptable in a B1G tournament game to get guys in who might not experience a B1G tournament game or an NCAA tournament game who might not ever play in a March Madness game. It was one of thirty or thirty one in the regular season. I'm sure they can tell their grandkids one day "I remember when I entered my first regular season game vs Michigan, it was 48.6 second left on the clock, we were up 19, and grandpa turned the ball over." Really?
That is the ONLY reason Juwan started to press Wisconsin at 48.6 seconds after the first Timeout and the second TO was silly, 14pt or 12pt win, like it mattered?
With a little context from last year's embarassing loss @ UM, Greg Gard was butt hurt from the game last year and played that last minute like a sore winner by rubbing it in Juwan's face, "See I can get scrubs in too". Childish.
I don't buy it. Gard got EMBARASSED last year at U of M. 21-19 at the 9:30 1st half to 69-29 10'40 2nd half. That was Gard being a dick about it and rubbing his win in Juwan Howard's face, and Juwan was trying to shake all the players hands and was not going to shake Gard or any assistants hand because he knew exactly what Gard did when he did it, anything else was going to be a lie, like Gard did to the media.Blind, I don't agree. Coaches have used a timeout in the last minute of home games that are out of reach for 30+ years to let the guys on the court hear it from the crowd, and to let the bench guys appear in a game. For those who said, well, it wasn't their last home game: they are fighting for the conference title. What if their last home game goes down to the wire? No chance to clear the bench.
Juwan can be mad if he wants but the head coach can't start a fight. Period.
I'm confused. Gard was rubbing it in by... playing his backups and walk-ons?I don't buy it. Gard got EMBARASSED last year at U of M. 21-19 at the 9:30 1st half to 69-29 10'40 2nd half. Why else would you put in scrubs with 48.6 seconds left by calling a timeout in that spot? He got woodsheded all over the floor at Michigan last year, from 21-19 9:30 left first half to 69-29 10:30 left second half finished 77-54. Then, get beat on your home court by that same team after Michigan's Covid pause, Wisconsin up 12 at half 39-27, woodsheded again 2nd half on your home court 40-20, Final score Michigan 67-59. Yes, Gard was being a sore winner and rubbing it in his face after the 2 losses last.year by putting in scrubs.I'm confused. Gard was rubbing it in by... playing his backups and walk-ons?
Even as you say , “ Gard was rubbing it in”. Does that excuse the end of game actions by coaches and teams ? By certain players egging on other team members…That actually was lost on some who are only seeing the rift between Howard and Gard. There were several Michigan ( one in particular) players wailing away after taunting back at Wisconsin coaches. This needs to be addressed by the conference AD’s and Administrations. Why else would you put in scrubs with 48.6 seconds left by calling a timeout in that spot? Except for the slap/punch (how was the play Mrs. Lincoln?) this is the biggest issue with Juwan. He has more than once had his guys press and be physical when a game is decided. To the whine and complain the other team is still playing? Can any Howard defender come up with a coherent defense of how he coached the last minute against us being okay, but Gard calling timeout wasn't? Seems like a topic a reporter could ask him to explain.
The guy has some wires crossed in his brain. He needs to step back and get serious help IMO before something truly bad happens. I think he should be out the rest of the season minimum but suspect he gets two games and that's it.
Howard claimed it was self defense lol. Punky move.If everything had happened up to and including Gard grabbing Howard's arm and Howard grabbing Gard's shirt, pointing his finger in Gard's face and then walking away, no one gets suspended. Then Howard hit a guy. Over. Suspended, at least.
Do you even watch basketball? Rubbing it in would be keeping your starters in and running your full offense. The opposite of that is putting in your bench and walk ons.Why else would you put in scrubs with 48.6 seconds left by calling a timeout in that spot?
