I love how he can be a jackass against us with a BS timeout and crap foul and Gard calls a timeout and he doesn't appreciate it and punches a coach. He does not belong in NCAA send him back to NBA. He should be fired.....This is not the first time....there is a pattern.

??? Howard Stern? Hello, context?

EDIT-context- when this was posted thread title said "Suspend them all" . Was not watching/following the Michigan game, and thread title and post had no context whatsoever.
Hate the way numerous posters on these boards post new thread with their visceral reactions for the "Look at me, look at me!" effect, when they could have posted in the existing thread--the Michigan/Wisconsin game thread.. Rant over.

That was awful. Howard should be suspended and fired immediately as coach of Michigan. That was a complete disgrace. This guy has had several problems this year plus one with Turgeon last year. The guy is a loose cannon. He must be suspended for our game and so should a few of his players who also threw punches at the end of the game.

Several players should also go as several Michigan players also threw punches. Remember our game where one of their guys wanted to fight one of our guys in the hand shake line. Real nice sportsmanship!!!! Also remember Howard went after Turgeon last year. I thing he has quite a temper. That is not needed in college basketball. I am so glad Steve is our coach.

Howard would not shake hands with Gard. Howard was pissed. Words exchanged and Howard slaps an assistant coach. Players start throwing down. Broken up fairly quickly. But ugly.

Man, you need to learn how to post a thread. Still no idea. Came here for update on Ron.
Here’s the context. Gard called a timeout very late up double digits to get some scrubs in the game. Juwan Howard took exception. Didn’t go straight to shake hands with Gard as the buzzer sounded, but got in the handshake line eventually. When he and Gard got together, Howard lowered his mask to let Gard know he didn’t appreciate the time out (I’m sure it was more of the ‘f you’ variety). Gard looked like he tried to talk to him and Howard lost it. Tussle ensues, Howard throws an open hand right at a Wisconsin assistant coach, and it got worse from there. Looks like a couple Michigan players may have thrown punches as well.

Also, we play @Michigan next.

That guy who wanted to fight us was Diabate who was one of the two I saw just throw punches. He won’t be playing on Wednesday.

In 2022? People will act like this is the equivalent of a murder being shown on national tv. In the 90’s this is your average tuesday.
1) it was a slap
2) its damnnnnn refreshing to see that not every basketball player/program is full of a soft culture where you wanna be best friends with your opponents.

This was nothing. Not one person ever landed a punch haha

I believe he only called T.O. cause of that foul by Michigan with seconds left and on his bench player

Foul came after timeout because Howard was pissed at Gard. Timeout with 15 seconds, foul immediately after on inbounds.

Announcers blew the cause of the melee. They said the root cause was Wisconsin calling time out. Except that the reason for the TO was that Michigan, against all standards of sportsmanship, was futilely pressing in the backcourt against the Wisconsin walkons. Rather than take the 10 second violation, Gard called TO and Howard went nuts.

In that situation, with < 30 seconds left, you just back off and let them dribble out the clock.

Wisconsin started it. It was kind of bush league, 73-57, Chuckie hitting the 3, celebrating, and the timeout called, started the ugliest that with fouling a few times at the end.

Chuckie didn't need to take the 3 with 5 on the clock up 16 or time out didn't need to be called. This is a regular season game, not getting guys in to play in a tournament game or anything special. Gard started that BS, Juwan Howard was justified in his responses to what Gard did until the punch thrown.

He was upset the Wisconsin coach called time out with 15 seconds left?

But it was okay for his team to continue playing at 100% just seconds earlier by stealing the ball and getting a layup!!??

The Wisconsin coach obviously wanted to avoid having his back-ups embarrassed again by making sure they knew what to do on the next in-bounds play. And THAT set Howard off?

What a major league d-nozzle he is. He didn't tell his team to stop playing but, apparently, the Wisconsin coach should have. Ridiculous.

I agree with you. That’s what started it.
