As much as I don't like the results at the moment this is why you want real time results, great drama. Well I said this group was likely the hardest and I think it's played out that way.

How often can you call on last minute heroics? Not feeling good, especially the way they're playing.
They really are making it hard to think even if they do advance today they will get out of the knockout round.
I mentioned the same above, if they can repeat the miracle again which is unlikely twice in a row I don't seem them advancing deep either. Not the way they're playing. Sloppy passing, communication, etc...Always capable and dangerous but not their usual selves.

Not a bad choice but would the Federation go for a second German after the Klinsman? I personally like the Morocco coach Bernard, but I don't seem him as a viable candidate.

Well just like football here, if you're lower down the totem pole you don't get higher level coaches unless they've screwed up somewhere else first. So yes you can criticize the poor near term results but if he didn't have them he wouldn't be available either.... which we don't even don't know at the moment.
Bigger thing is, can he win without the talent of Germany and develop some of our own. I don't follow closely enough to know any of that.
They were fortunate to win the one game vs. Sweden. More disappointing than Argentina, who barely squeaked through.

Was just looking at some articles and it's likely a moot point. Seems like his contract was extended earlier this year from 2020 out to 2022 and the German Football Association president said they want him in charge of the transition towards younger players regardless of outcome of the World Cup. I think his salary is around 4M Euros too.
Have no clue what managers in the Euro leagues make but read he could be up for the Arsenal job too. EDIT: Arsenal already hired a coach, info was from older article.

EDIT: Here's an article from today. Sounds like he was up for both Real Madrid and Arsenal but he rebuffed them both to stay in charge of Germany. He's owed around 13.6M Euros to release him.

Sure does. That haven' been playing well of late and certainly not in Russia. They are not anywhere near the team of 4 years ago. What was asinine was you thinking they were suddenly going to wake up. They couldn't score on SK and finished last in their group. My statement was and still is 100% spot on.
I’m pretty sure Germany didn’t lose a single game in qualifying and outscored their opponents something like 34 to 4? So to say they “haven’t been playing well as of late” needs to be limited to ONLY WC play and they DID completely tank during The Cup WITHOUT question!!
This wasn't a squad like Argentina who barely qualified. They still have tons of talented players. They played like **** this tourney but going into any match they scare you.
Yes but in friendlies since March they lost to Brazil, Austria, draw against Spain. Yes I know friendlies aren't full squads but Germany was supposed to have great depth. Certainly not taking games leading in seriously at all. Not having Sane on the team was a big mistake too.
It's not like I made this statement before the cup but was after a loss to Mexico and than needing and extra time goal to get past Sweden.

Tremendous athletes flopping and faking injuries way too much. Makes it a very frustrating watch for me at times. But that being said still extremely exciting and can't wait till it comes here.

I honestly believe there’s been a lot less “flopping” this year, overall, than I’ve seen in the past but that just me might be the games I’m watching.
