How about the Judge in Piscataway charging a more reasonable fine? They generally drop the underage drinking fine (if you agree to plead guilty for the peace and good order ticket; which is a BS charge for someone not causing any problem at a family tailgate). I’m guessing this is the case because they don’t have any proof, especially when the student is drinking from a red cup. (They would actually have to see what the student poured into the cup). When asked why such a high fine ($1,000) for peace and good order charge, the court clerk said “the Judge has discretion on the amount of the fine”.
This week the cops were up and down our row in the Blue lot for hours, almost non stop. Maybe the cops need to be stationed on every floor at every RU residence hall, if they are really worried about a 19 year old having a beer. I would guess that there are about 5,000 or more underaged students having drink on any given Saturday on campus.
