IUMassdon't think RU loses anything by providing a complete and more than competitive offer. Hurley still isn't the best or most qualified option if RU met the demands for facilities that aren't realistic. If Hurley secures additional money from URI by interviewing then that's fine as well.
What ultimately happens when you overplay your hand is what we are seeing here. If facilities were THAT critical then you shouldn't interview for the gig. You don't need facilities to teach defense, etc...a lot of it is really just excuses for the coach not having 100% confidence in his ability to work and win. I don't think facilities or admission of anyone as a recruit is going to save you from trying to devise a game plan to compete against the coaches in the B1G.
There are legitimate hurdles that require a lot of confidence and a plan to win at RU. But that's the same at PSU, NW and elsewhere in this league....you don't get layups against the Fordham, UMass types. So as much as we want to be honest, if you are, the game is basketball, it's still a game that countless other programs develop without the excuse of facilities.
So we move on to the next candidates who understand that there isn't an expectation that you win immediately or make the NCAA in Year 2 or 3. Very confident that RU comes out way ahead with what we are offering and B1G money in our future.
