My wife's favorite artist!!!...makes her clothes fall off.
I’ve enjoyed some of Jerry Jeff Walker’s stuff. George Straight has some great songs. I’m not a big Garth Brooks fan but damn he has some good songs. Most people don’t realize that Jimmy Buffet has written quite a few country cross over hits. There are some TREMENDOUSLY talented country singer/musicians it’s just that I’m not wild about the pop country lyrics and instrumentals.

There were some great guys with some really unique sounds. George Jones, John Anderson etc.

Pronouns! She should be specific. Who is "they"? Is this woman saying that CMT says that it is OK to rap about killing cops but Aldean's lyrics are bad?

The whinny *** bitching about this song and that movie and blah, blah, blah. It makes me think that this is all just a new marketing strategy.

Apparently Aldean is a dumb *** at best. Not the place where I usually get my News from but according to NPR:

“much of the criticism around the video has less to do with these clips than its setting: The Maury County Courthouse building in Columbia, Tenn., which serves as an American-flag-draped backdrop for Aldean and his band.

The landmark was the site of race riots in 1946 as well as a 1927 lynching in which a white mob pulled an 18-year-old black man, Henry Choate, from jail and dragged him through the city by car, according to several media reports, including one detailed account from The Washington Post.”

Yeah, that kind of struck me as odd. I mean, I know he couldn't do it in his hometown, because he's from a city, but someone involved had to know the history of his location selection. I think it was probably a giant f you. At the end of the day he is free to shoot his videos wherever he wants and CMT is free to choose to air it.

Maybe I missed the part in the Hannah Montana movie where they referred to car jacking, mugging old ladies, Liquor store hold ups, Cop abuse, and other racial “dog whistles” while filming the movie in front of the site of a lynching and race riot.

My bad.

All he did was show images of what happened during the riots. Funny how you assume all the rioters were black. Images of white women flipping off cops and spitting on cops were in his video too. Was a white woman hung outside the courthouse? You liberal gas lighters constantly have to be outraged about something. Was the remake of Fast Car by a white country singer racist too?😒

It's incredible how triggered they get. A song talking about how living in a small town and taking care of your own is a bad thing. I don't care if you're white, black, Asian or Eskimo. A scumbag criminal is a criminal. If you beat up an old lady. Try to rob or loot a store. Burn down a small business. You're gonna get dealt with. That's called street justice. And that's not a bad thing. Maybe if they did this in the big cities their wouldn't be so much crime. That's probably why they hate the song. They are getting mugged weekly and are such pussies they don't do anything except suck on their thumbs in the fetal position and let it happen.

Get used to the song buttercup. Because of your communist attempts at censorship it's going to be playing non stop until 2024. Enjoy.😂

No one has pointed out that this dude is from Macon, GA? A small town of 150,000. Dude is as country as Iowa is a title contender.

Please tell me you have the mental capacity to look up the population of WHEN he lived/grew up there as opposed to looking at current population.. oh you’re mind isn’t capable of any critical reasoning skills??

This must be why you and Husker that can count to six always mess up my fry order.

I haven't listened to any new country in 20 years. Kid Rock is as close to country as I get in the new watered down pop country garbage they play today. I didn't even know about this song until it got banned. Then, coincidentally it shoots to Number 1.
Don’t listen to much music from the last, like, 30 years (garbage), but I really hope the Woketards keep doin **** like this.

They cancel folks who don’t tow the Lib Activist mandate, while inadvertently showing everyone their egregious hypocrisy. Or maybe they simply don’t care, because they know they’re gonna get a free pass from Gubmint and ‘media’. Eventually something is gonna break. We’re not gonna just roll over…

Are you saying Jason Aldean grew up in Macon when it was a small town and now it's a metro? He was born in 1977....

Not really sure what you are getting at here. Guy wrote a dud of a song (IMO) about something he probably never personally experienced. And is making a ton of money. Good for him.

Really touched a nerve did I.. so just to be clear.. you only listen to music that was written by the artist that sings it, and you don’t spend money on anything you perceive as a money grab?

So no movies, amusement parks.., heck I guess no Husker football either. You must have a dull life.

You competed missed the point of HBK’s thread, but let’s face it… you’re not the brightest bulb..

I'm well aware of the point of alot of HBK's threads...

Still doesn't change the point that you were implying that somehow the population of Aldean's home city was different enough from then vs. now to make a difference. Unless you have some sort of secret code going on with the OP.

I look forward to your snarky reply. It's kind of your thing.

What I’m saying is at least have the common sense to look up the population when he grew up.. not what it is on ‘23.

The term small town is highly subjective. I live in 3M metro so yeah.. a town in GA with 100k people is pretty small town to me.

I do apologize for using multisyllabic words.. damn did it again.. sorry

Hey, I'll actually give you that one. Small town depends on your perspective. That might actually help me understand that Breakup in a Small-town song because it doesn’t sound like a small-town.

Lol nah, ”you're" the one slinging insults. I just find it funny that people are defending the guy when he didn't write the song and did not come from or ever live in a small town. ”Your" butthurt response was cute, but wrong. Macon hasn't been a small town in at least 50 years. https://www.biggestuscities.com/city/macon-georgia
FWIW I agree that woke cancel culture is lame. Jason Aldean and the rest of top 40 ”country” music is a joke though. ✌️

Ok so the whole point of HBK’s thread you agree with now? Odd you derailed it but now agree. Glad you came to your senses.

Also- you’re using quotation marks incorrectly… since ya wanna play the grammar Nazi game.

I still wanna know what you do for fun since you’re very much opposed to anything that’s a money grab?

Once again( reading comprehension isn’t your strong suit) - the term small town is subjective.

Heard this song today for the first time cutting hay. Been listening to a ton of 80s lately so haven't had country on. Thought it was good and don't give an F about cmt. They're as whacked as hollyweird
