My mother in law went to his funeral out of chance ( she was just a fan) and got mistaken for one of John's best friends while they were walking about... and got escorted to the front....met Lyle Lovett in line and befriended John's mom till her passing. It's an amazing story.

I was literally just in Luckenbach, Texas a couple weeks ago and got a pic with the Jerry Jeff/Hondo statue bench. If you have not been there, do it. It is every bit as much as the song implies. It is awesome. No matter if you are there with four or a few hundred. It is a good time. Ain't nobody feeling no pain.
