Buzz Williams is a better coach than any of those mentioned above. He is a good in game coach as well. That is what we ave missed since Cal has been here and has bugged me. Two yrs with Buzz we would be in a final four.

This is the guy. I've been pounding this drum for months...not for now, until now...I was thinking it was him for '24.

Sadly, I still don't think Mitch does sh*t and Cal won't leave.

What an utter mess. Poor Oscar. I hate it for him, seriously.
I would be good with that. I would be good with Drew also. I believe both could be had too if Mitch and UK had any guts.

Please do something. The Cal era needs to be over.

I luv UK and cheer like hell, just not sure Cal didn't kill the program tonight. No momentum going into next year and everyone points and laughs now. The gold standard huh. Who the hell would be scared of his team's after this ****.

No....maybe Beard if some others say no. Oats if Bears and others say no. Only two on that list even remotely possible imo.

Folsk need to get over Wright and Stevens. Those are never happening.
Beard got better transfers than us and at Tx ended up with double digit losses. He isnt out of the 1st rd yet. I cant see him as the answer feels closer to another BCG hire.

Wright is on record saying he will not coach at UK - Doesn't want the fishbowl
Donovan would be a short term option due to his age now

Really, Stevens is the only option and maybe he is now more open to college but he has said he has no interest until its over in the NBA

so in my mind at the moment there is no one unless we can get Stevens

If cal resigns or is fired, who are legitimate options to replace him?

Bennet from Virginia comes to mind. I doubt jay wright would be interested but worth sniffing around. Again long shot but could sniff around brad stevens.

what are other good options?
You mean lose to a 16 seed Bennet?
He's a point behind.

He didn't at Texas... and he had some great ones.
I disagree, what has Texas done since he left? When he was there they were Kansas biggest threat in the conference. Look at the talent difference at UT and us but he gets them to overachieve. He owns Cal head to head. Not saying he’s my first choice but I wouldn’t be disappointed if it happened

Cal is still owed well over $60 million more on his current contract. We can’t afford to fire him, and no chance he’s walking away from that kind of money.

Like it or not, he ain’t going anywhere. If you don’t like it, take it up with Mitch.
Mitch is more likely to give him a bump due to inflation that fire him.

I was all about giving cal a shot until that game. He don't want to change anything he does it's time for him to find another job preferably a small one. I say we go after Scott Drew. I don't think we have offered him ever.

I know Wright, Few, Izzo and Donovan all have turned us down. I don't think Brad Stephens is ready to come back. He would he 2nd in my list. I guess third would be Beard after that I don't know. I don't think I could stoop as low to take pearl or want him. If Arizonas coach does well in tournament maybe him with his fresh take on the college game.

I think Scott Drew is who you guys should go get. The guy somehow has managed to get a 4 seed caliber team a 1 seed this year.

Cal will coach next year. His ego won't let him step down and we can't afford the buyout.

But in fantasy world, you make one call. Brad Stevens. Make him turn down 10 million a year. Call him back with 12 million a year.

Then you go down the list. Maybe Billy D, but after him saying no twice I don't even want him asked. Same with Jay Wright.

Peral is scum but would kill it here and would take it in a heartbeat.

Not sold on Beard or the Ohio St guy.

Izzo and Few are too old and should retire where they are.

Lloyd looks real good in AZ but is unproven.

Maybe we go get a NBA coach like Vogel?

He has a $60 Million dollar buyout if we fire him. Cal isn’t going anywhere.
We could hope that there is some kind of way to fire him for just cause. I don't know what that would be. but most contracts have one. Has anyone seen Cal's contract?
