If Cal were a man of honor that could call it a day when it's his time and he knows it's his time, then he'd step down.

If Cal were a man that baited Mitch Barnfart into a ridiculous contract by pretending he was interested in a UCLA job who would go on to hire Cronin, not exactly a knockout hire, congrats on the cinderella run. But either way I don't think Mitch is with us to get rid of him, and I don't think Cal is the kind of guy to step down once his team got embarrassed and TyTy and Shaedon both leave, which is a double scoop of embarrassment.

This just feels ******* unreal to me, I can't even believe this is happening, I feel like I'm the subject of some alien TV show and there's a bunch of big headed goons laughing at me out in space. There's no way this happened to do.

He has a $60 Million dollar buyout. Cal isn’t going anywhere.

Bennett? If you want more of the same you saw tonight have at it.
That’s my fear. Cal is a terrible at coaching, outside of getting talent, and fostering team unity and buy in. With these assistants, I think we can land talent that’ll net elite eights and final fours, maybe a title if we land a generational talent. But I’m tired of the crap coaching as much as everyone else…

some say Bruce, what’s he done at auburn that’s so desirable to us? I don’t love cal, but I’m worried about what’s after him as much or more than I’m worried about what we have. Which very well could be a top 3 ranked team going into next year. If Oscar returns…

I’ll be the pessimist and say we are more likely to have a difficult next 3-10 years than a great deal of top end success

And I mean REALISTIC options (please no one say Brad Stevens or Billy Donovan).

I want Scott Drew

No to Drew. If anyone else is there no Drew. I fear what the NCAA would end up doing to us. He’s not winning all of a sudden in no mans football land for no reason.

If cal resigns or is fired, who are legitimate options to replace him?

Bennet from Virginia comes to mind. I doubt jay wright would be interested but worth sniffing around. Again long shot but could sniff around brad stevens.

what are other good options?
God Bennett for real? C'mon man! This **** is hard enough to watch I cant handle rock fights every night.

I don’t know, but Cal killed my bracket tonight

I didn't have the Cats going very far in this tournament because we were not looking good lately. I just hoped that Ty and Grady would find their shots. I also hoped that Brooks would be more consistent and that Wheeler would play under a bit more control. I didn't get anything I wanted.

It gets overlooked. People think we can replace Cal tomorrow.

I think guys like me that have been harping on Mitch handing over millions every time one of Cal's friends in the NBA calls realize it's a problem but I think you are underestimating how much pressure is about to come down on Cal. Stoops is revered by comparison. Fans are already pissed that we only get to see directional state university at home because he schedules so poorly.

He may not have the integrity to end this but he also will have to suffer quite a bit of indignity in the process. That matters to a guy like Cal. He can likely go coach most any other program save the big three outside of UK tomorrow if he wanted and make nearly the same amount of money.

That guy seems nice but definitely doesn’t understand how buyouts and hot seats work.

If he can’t stay, the buyout can’t keep him here. The pressure is about to be unreal.

Back up the truck to Jay Wright and beg him to give it a go for 5 years.

The landscape for transcendental coaches is abysmal right now (see IU, UNC, Duke, etc.).

If Wright is a no go, put out feelers for Donovan, Musselman or Lloyd (who won't be leaving that gig for this one).

If it's all system failure, call Pearl or hold your nose with Oats.
Musselman. 😂

Most of the coaches posters are mentioning will use UK to get a big raise nothing more, that would be just as embarrassing as losing a ball game in my opinion.
