Venezuelan oil is sulfur rich and more expensive to refine or so I’ve read. It’s why their economy tanked after they tied it all to the 150+ barrel prices.

I like the rule. Pretty entitled alumni base from my experience. Plus, their Pitino-loving coach wouldn’t give Richie any PT. So, the hell with them.

Ha. I didn’t deserve any more PT than I played. Thewere D1 dudes ahead of me and I wasn’t nearly as good as them. I should’ve worked harder to make up for it but was a foolish teenage boy.

What Davenport has done at Bellarmine is fairly amazing. He’s paid his dues and from what I’ve gathered does everything from cleaning the practice court at Knight’s Hall to folding uniforms. It’s be nice if they could evolve into an Xavier type program. Plus, if they start playing Kentucky at Rupp like he and Cal said they would next December it will absolutely infuriate UL people and make UL look scared, which they should be.

I refuse to believe he's not qualified for the UofL job. In fact, I hope they *dont* hire him. I'll step out on that limb.

It's a shame he didn't move up while he was younger. That's almost incomprehensible to me that he didn't become a D1 head coach until he was in his mid-60s. For touch sake, there's 350 D1 schools, and he never made it to the bigs until he built his program into one. Craziness.

Look, it's nice to feel good about something in this city again.
Scotty Davenport, ladies and gentlemen! The lone bright spot in the post-apocalyptic husk of a topographical wonder.

* Did anth/Sloot and BBdK get monogrammed camo sweatshirts for PTI's wedding? Inquiring minds want to know.

* I'm not a big fan of an adult over the age of 25 who relies on his or her tax return for their financial wellbeing -- single, responsible moms being the exception.

* The governor was in Nicholasville last night to support the Ukrainian community in a prayer vigil. It is nice to live in a safe, growing community with an international flair, imo. I would understand if Louisville peeps who are sick of the urban blight and holes opening up in their yard wanted to check out the Pearl on the Palisades.

Meanwhile, larval manbaby and noted ***** Dr. Chris Kolb remains on the JCPS school board and retweeted this yesterday:

Gonzo, hopefully you dont teach math. gas prices at the end of 2020 early 2021, under $2 dollars a gallon. Gas prices today closing in on $5 dollars a gallon= more than doubled. Unless you have a 5 gallon tank, you are paying more than 10 dollars extra per fill up.

- Hank went deep into the thesaurus on that one.

- Played in a teacher v. student basketball game yesterday in front of the entire student body. Teachers won. This 45 year old dropped about 18 and took home MVP hardware . . . again. Started the game 3 for 3 from deep with my own, individual 9-0 run. It was too much for the Gen Z brats to bear.

- Boys Sweet 16 shaping up to be the most intriguing one in years. Let me know if you need tickets!

- Will be in Lexington sorta on my own 3/17 and 3/18 for the tourney/personal time off. If there is a GYERO watch party at some establishment within walking distance of the Hyatt, holla.

* I drive an SUV that gets 12-15 miles per gallon, but I'm not worried at all about the impending world war, skyrocketing inflation, rising interest rates, the collapsing stock market, highest gas prices in the history of the country, stagflation, supply chain issues, or massive national debt. I just throw 20 bucks in every time it gets to 1/2 full.

* To distract myself and calm my nervousness on Saturday morning, I spent a good 30 minutes ordering a Cameo for my friend Jerome. It was a roast from Lisa Sparxxx (who has NOT aged well). Something about a small penis and being black and loving cocaine and fat white girls or something. Pretty sure the order got canceled. Guess she doesn't need the $60 after all.

* My toes/feet may be nasty, but they're prettier than Deion Sanders'. For sure.

* Heading back to New Orleans today, spending the weekend with friends, timing/scoring a St Patrick's Day-themed race, taking in a parade, and generally just enjoying our first week of marital bliss.

* <-- would still pound Rob's wife. (and she wants it). I'll talk to the lass about getting that one-time "get out of jail free card" just for her.

* I'm sure it's because I hate America or whatever, but the Libertarian in me HATES all these Russian sanctions. The rich and powerful will still be rich and powerful. It's the everyday working class citizens that will pay the biggest price. IMHO.

* Listened to MrBeast on Joe Rogan, and holy s*** that's one of the most impressive businessmen I've ever heard. He's been making videos on YouTube since age 11, and is only 23. Highest earner on the platform last year -- $54 million. Has branched out to virtual restaurants and healthy snack foods and free food pantries and all kinds of other stuff. Has never had a job in his life, and barely graduated high school.

(videos don't do much for me, fwiw)

Really impressive dude.

* Lindsay A Graham (Lindsay with an "A," middle initial "A.") is the podcast GOAT. American Scandal is awesome.

The history of the word Libertarian is fascinating in and of itself. It was coined to describe Anarchists after the French government banned the word from being used in the press.

What we know as “American libertarianism” traces its spiritual roots to Lysander Spooner. Real interesting character and a great American thinker that doesn’t get a lot of the spotlight.

I’ve voted for some Libertarian candidates but most I’ve known irl have just used the whole ethos to justify being selfish ********. I went to a meeting held by a local Libertarian group in Nashville with a buddy back in 2014. The guys leading it were early 20’s, trying to make it big on the ground floor of crypto. Cool. Wish I had listened to that part.

Eventually they got to the part of the plan where they wanted to build a walled off compound in Mexico and basically use the local population as slave labor. Then a shifty looking redneck dude stood up and said we needed to “take care of” Obama.

I didn’t stay for the coffee and doughnuts.

None of this is important but I’m always reminded of that night when someone mentions Libertarians.
