king Andy just suspended the mask mandate for all executive branch offices and state agencies, effective March 1. (Some agencies are excluded.) But Fayette County schools continues masking kids.

- In Russia, they call everybody they hate Nazis. It has to do with the fact that the Nazis in WWII caused the deaths of 24M Russians and had the objective to kill every single last one of them.

- My angle on here has always been the following:
- Putin's bad, but I understand why he's pissed off - he feels like NATO is encroaching on him. I don't believe his goal is to make the USSR a real thing again, but I do think he draws the line at Ukraine. Russia wants a buffer state between them and the west. Ukraine even agreed to this, although they say now that will be very tough. I'm open to hear other sides on this. This doesn't mean he's right - this seems very Cold War thinking on his part, but it helps to understand why he's pissed off.
- Ukraine isn't exactly a model state; they've got a ton of issues and shouldn't be confused with other Western allies.
- The fact that Russia has nukes makes this a lot more risky; I think we should tread lightly - especially given that 2nd point re: Ukraine - to ensure that something apocalyptic doesn't happen.
- I want peace between the Ukraine and Russia. I'd love for Putin to be taken out via coup or whatever, but if that isn't going to happen I'd prefer they go back to the way things were.

Never said they were "a bastion of western goodness". I pointed out that they held a democratic election, which is pretty cool considering they only gained independence from Russia about 30 years ago.

Not exactly some 30 year political vet that just had to grease some palms for his shot. He literally ran on a platform stating that the country was corrupt and he wasn't from that culture. Where in my post did I advocate for war? If anything you should go help Putin get NATO out of his "backyard". The only thing we seemingly agree on is that we both want this to end and go back to being the way they were, the problem is that that's impossible now.
Also, the same people worried that Putin is insane (and this invasion proves it) are worried because we don't know if he will use nukes. The false dichotomy your tweeter posted there was conjured on a whim. There's no reason to think someone is insane then think they wouldn't do something insane, it's just dumb. And, just in case, if there are examples of people expressing that sentiment, they're probably incredibly naive.

Yes! Happy for them! And happy for employees in state offices that as of a few hours ago are now mask optional (Andy decision). Fayette County Board meeting just reiterated again they are not going mask optional right now.
