Are woke sportswriters on vulgar group text threads with their college buddies? Or are they nervous clueless pussies like SAE and drop out of them because (in SAE’s case) nobody gave a **** about things like the Jan 6th protest.

He's coaching the only known Gay man in the league. There are multiple female refs in the NFL and Mark Davis is an idiot who has a **** can haircut but has made it crystal clear that he doesn't tolerate any racism/sexism. Al Davis was big about that stuff (hiring the first Latino Coaches and Black coaches ever).

And, as I mentioned before, Jon Gruden deserves to be canned for a million other reasons (Lynn Bowden Jr, Clelin Ferrell over Josh Allen, selling our entire offensive line in the offseason). This was just icing on the **** cake.

Also, Ursch isn't paid 10 million a year to be **** at his job, he can keep saying GAFFOT all he wants.

Gus Bradley takes over for the remainder of the year and Eric Bieniemy is hired next year and kills it. Calling it now.

He was doing MNF at the time but guessing with ESPN being a huge league partner they won't face any blowback for this happening under their roof. Emails in question stopped in 2018 and that's when he took the Raiders gig, so it has nothing to do with happening with his current employer.

Actually, it is. You either get Lynn Bowden Jr. and all his warts with a 3rd round pick and live with it or you don't draft him. They gave him up for "focusing on cars over playbooks" for a 4th round pick before the season began. Bowden's crime? He bought his mom a car. When they asked why they drafted Ferrell (a late 1st at best but likely 2nd rounder) over Allen, they said they wanted good locker room guys. Their next signing after the draft? Richie Incognito. No touching wonder.

They also drafted PJ Hall out of UTSA in the second round. He is the only top 3 round player from 2018 COMPLETELY out of the league. This is all 100% Gruden. Mayock is there for the pictures and **** tier quotes.

Companies don’t do this because they’re “woke,” or because they want to “cancel” someone. That argument is so incredibly tired.

It’s because they’re covering their own ***. It’s hypocritical, above all else. Not woke.
Let's see how many gigs he has lined up moving forward. Incredibly dumb for a public figure to put that stuff in company emails, worth burying him over? That's pretty harsh. I guess it's part of that gig at that level. Would this be the same if the Raiders were good? I'm guessing no.

Bowden was an inch away from being cut in Miami.
You're completely missing my point. They either were reaching again (they were) or they didn't do their research (they didn't).

This is not me advocating for Bowden's ability in the NFL. It's pointing out Jon Gruden's ineptitude at evaluating talent. Everytime I look up their drafts since 2018 it should just say the round and then - REACH.

If Gruden is out because of his past then Bieniemy isn’t getting hired.

They took Bowden hoping he’d be a RB. He didn’t want to be a RB so he half assed his efforts and missed blocks in camps and in preseason. It got a QB blown up, but he wasn’t a RB just because that style worked at UK.

Gruden was awful for getting rid of Mack/Cooper and they struggled mightily, but he had them playing solid football for the most part after completely dismantling the team so he could build with his own guys.

Regardless of any of that, this can’t be a firable offense. At some point someone has to have some spine and say F it, what can they do!

But Davis probably wanted this outcome, and Goodell who was the target absolutely wanted this outcome, because he is in fact a GD *****!

Two things can be true without this being a case of the “woke brigade”:

1. The Raiders are a **** organization headed by a servant of the dark lord, knew exactly the kind of ******* they were hiring, were way overpaying said mediocre ******* for godawful results, and needed an out; and

2. Anyone who calls the head of his organization a clueless anti football ***** IN WRITING is an idiot and deserves to be fired (even if he’s right and/or joking). Schefter noted the emails mentioned Goodell when he announced the firing before any other group and it should be obvious why.

I mean seriously no one is surprised Jon Gruden is a dipshit and no one should be surprised it got him shitcanned.

Imagine feeling comfortable enough with your audience to throw out nude pics and race/sex/gay slurs in your work emails! Lot of folks sweating right now in NFL land, I’m guessing.
And yet somehow Snyder will shimmy out of all this when he was the subject of this whole investigation and did way worse with the cheerleaders scandals and treatment of employees. Mid-level staffers will get the axe but they can’t kill those kings - they all know where the bodies are buried.

Gruden is indeed an idiot for using his work email to make jokes that literally everyone alive longer than 10 years has made. He was clearly fired because (1) he was collateral damage in an investigation and/or (2) the Raiders or Goodell wanted him out and these were convenient excuses.

Using work email to call someone a f***** is idiotic. However, with the way our phones and other devices are listening to us now, it won't be too long before some company is going to produce a transcript of a conversation between colleagues where someone used similar language to fire him, her, or it when it becomes convenient. What a brave new world.

-Gruden deserved to be fired.
-Cancel culture is stupid.
-The NFL has no moral standing and are hypocrites.
-The Redskins (Dan Snyder) coming out of this unscathed shows this wasn’t a real investigation.
-I still love watching the NFL product.

All of these can be true at the same time.

Who do you think they’re covering their own *** from and/or caving to?

Your never ending contrarian crusade to somehow prove cancel culture and/or the woke mob doesn’t exist or have a real effect is truly special.

In this case, they’re mostly in covering their own *** financially after committing $100 million to a has been coach who lost 60% of his games.

The never ending quest to prove that cancel culture and the woke mob rule the world is truly special.

My post wasn’t a commentary on Gruden. Your argument is the same no matter who’s getting skewered. .

Rule the word is a far cry from acknowledging that something very real indeed exists.

I surmise you’d feel differently if it was you or a loved one - or maybe not, Bc then you’d be siding with friends and family.

Why does it matter that he lost 60% of his games? We are talking about a franchise that has had 1 winning season since they traded Gruden to Tampa on ‘03. His last 2 years were 7-9, 8-8 and this year he is 3-2. So he is an improvement.

Regardless, this isn’t about his performance. In all his time as a coach, analyst for MNF and as an ESPN commentator NOTHING has come out about Gruden, and this wasn’t even looking into him.

They were investigating the owner of the Redskins and Gruden just happened to send emails to then president of the Redskins. That’s how this came about.

It’s lame AF at best considering the topless cheerleader pics were sent to Jon Gruden from higher ups at the Redskins and no one is being forced out for that.

Anyhow, how does one pay PTI $100 for a bet?
