The tailgate always has a ridiculous amount of good-to-great food...but I've never seen it have such an affect on the patrons. All of it was just too damn good to pass on.

Everyone was sitting around like post-Thanksgiving during the mid afternoon for a couple hours after the feast.

-Took about 6 minutes to ragdoll Rogue in HORSE, who challenged me out of nowhere -- Tommy would probably be a better matchup for you, pal. That guy LOVES to lose money.
I once went 20 years without a single loss in HORSE. The streak finally ended against Darnell Burton. Only because he could stroke it from 30 feet and I couldn’t. Once he figured that out, it was over.

Addressed this a few weeks ago. If you haven't noticed, since we put everyone on rent free, $19/hr unemployment, and a few grr bonuses... temporary workforce hasn't exactly rushed back to find a paycheck. They've been working with about 75% of the staff required to run those events and we've been selling the place out. Plan accordingly.

FWIW, youth sports teams, church groups, etc. work at least some of the concession stands at games because they get to keep some of the proceeds. Been that way for a while I believe.

*When the decision came to head north to Cincinnati or back home, I chose home. I'm not sure I could have handled another day of drinking. Especially with the crew I was going to meet up with.

*Friday was awesome. As I mentioned to a few people that night, the city felt like it was on fire. People everywhere starting pretty early in the afternoon/evening.

I checked in to 21c around 4, got ready, walked around and had a few beers beforehand, then dinner at Ruby's. Wow. JR's was on another level Friday night. Anyone you wanted to see there, you probably saw them.

*Saturday, woke up pretty hungover. I decided to hit the Fayette mall to kill some time since I had a 11 am checkout. Went to BJ's and had two cold ones and a small pie. Then it was off to the tailgate.

*It felt like an old school party. Saw a couple people I haven't' seen in years, great food, after game FB and fight. Then, just as everyone was about to call it a night, someone knocked on the door and before you know it, we are all SCREAMING the lyrics to the immortal Peter Cetara. Still trying to put my finger(s) on how that happened.

*Big thanks to 80 for Saturday. Seats were awesome. I'll have the cash for you the next time I see you. Maybe you'll actually take it this time.

I read a column this weekend from a distinguished professor who said that ending the rent free, $19/hr stuff will in no way incentivize people to come back to work, and therefore we need to continue that forever. I don't know how you can be so foolish (and heartless) to disagree with this economics wizard.

Time stamp to Bonz to get back downstairs was at 12:58am as Anth was brushing his teeth and I was showing everyone else to their respective couches to sleep.

*<——— Big one of these pal, I was in a boot. We’ll
run it back again one day when I’ve got to feet that can bend at the toes. But yes it didn’t take long.

And yes to Rudd’s quads making me jealous.

Proud of Willy as I’m certain he started working out again Sunday morning as he said he would.

I never said I was going to start working out again on Sunday.

I said I was going to start working out again tomorrow. And I probably will.

Yeah, I've heard that argument, and I just assume those people don't do a lot of low income hiring.

The argument is that they aren't seeing a big change in the data, meaning that there wasn't a significant uptick in hiring after they ended benefits in certain areas of the country. Like people who were getting gifted $900 a week and not paying rent for the past year were just going to run out and grab the first job that came available.

Salaries are crazy at all levels.

I pulled two decent resumes for a 2nd shift Supervisor position. Both wanted > 80K, If that's the going rate for a shift supervisor, I need to start job shopping.

Yep, there's a MASSIVE portion of our work force that do a lot of important jobs, that no one else wants to do, and only take those jobs when they absolutely need income. Then will quit them literally the second the work becomes inconvenient, they get f*cked up and no call no show, and they have a few bucks in their pocket to get them by for a few weeks. I see resumes all the time with 15-20 jobs in the last 2 years, like it's a badge of honor. Both sides signed off on that ****. Now we're paying for it because you're going to have to push those folks back in there.

Then you have all your coworkers, that found their real passion while working from home for 18 months, and out being ski bums or yoga instructors. Great resignation, smfd. F*ck off, and get your *** back to work.

Quite the conundrum we've got here.

Max, there better be trophy fish in that pond at the bottom or I’ll be pissed for wasting 9 days.

Yeah, let’s just keep pumping money out to everyone. At least until they figure out why there’s no one to do the simple, basic things because no one is working. Sounds like a perfectly conceived idea.

Georgia isn’t 22 points better. We might become dickfingers because of all the hype and lack of meaningful big games. But they’re not 22 points better. Just sayin’

Two things on low income jobs.

1 ) I would wager that a generation of helicopter parents would rather gift their kids an allowance than let them get in the workforce. There's also a lot of talk in NC about worries over kids working in the era of Covid. Most people I see at fast food restaurants used to be teens. Its all 30+ somethings (except Chik Fil A).

2 ) its almost like people don't want to work in a service industry making 10 an hour in a world where uko exists/persists. Some people much smarter than me argued that Biden was forcing the minimum wage up by keeping unemployment benefits in place and it appears they weren't wrong.

We don't pay well for new hires here (35k with a 4 year degree) and are paying for it via attrition.

I didn’t think Matt Jones could be more embarrassing, as a representative of UK sports. than he already was. I was wrong. Yikes.

My 14-year-old makes basically 30 bucks an hour to referee soccer games. Pretty sure he would laugh at me - and rightfully so - if I asked him to think about a fast food job in 2 years.
Its is comical, my son got 45 for being head ref for Rec League games (all 12 or younger) and 30 for sideline. would Ref about 5 games on a Saturday and pick up 2 travel games a week. Would make over 200 untaxable cash a week for like 7 hours. It was a hard realization for him when he interned for 15 dollars an hour over the summer.

In the emails, Gruden called the league’s commissioner, Roger Goodell, a “f***ot” and a “clueless anti football p*ssy” and said that Goodell should not have pressured Jeff Fisher, then the coach of the Rams, to draft “******,” a reference to Michael Sam, a gay player chosen by the team in 2014.

…In numerous emails during a seven-year period ending in early 2018, Gruden criticized Goodell and the league for trying to reduce concussions and said that Eric Reid, a player who had demonstrated during the playing of the national anthem, should be fired. In several instances, Gruden used a homophobic slur to refer to Goodell and offensive language to describe some N.F.L. owners, coaches and journalists who cover the league.

…Gruden exchanged emails with Allen and other men that included photos of women wearing only bikini bottoms, including one photo of two Washington team cheerleaders.

…Gruden also criticized President Obama during his re-election campaign in 2012, as well as then-vice president Joe Biden, whom Gruden called a “nervous clueless p*ssy.” He used similar words to describe Goodell and DeMaurice Smith, the executive director of the N.F.L. Players Association.

…In one email from 2015 that includes Droste, McVay and others, Gruden crudely asked Allen to tell Bryan Glazer, whose family owns the Tampa Bay Buccaneers where Gruden coached until 2008, to perform oral sex on him. Allen said Glazer would “take you up on that offer.”

Allen and Gruden also mocked Caitlyn Jenner, who received an award from ESPN in 2015 after she transitioned.

In an email from 2015, Allen and Gruden criticized a congressional bill that aimed to force the Washington franchise to change its name, which some Native Americans and others have denounced as a slur. Again using a vulgar term, Gruden took aim at Goodell and his staff even though the commissioner had initially defended the team’s right to keep the name.

In 2017, Droste shared with the group a sexist meme of a female referee to which Gruden replied, “Nice job roger.”

What I learned today is everyone in GYERO has been disqualified from being an NFL coach.

Conspiracy Wayne thinks that Goodell found out what was in those emails wanted Gruden out.
