The Viet Cong? Seriously? You must be relatively young.Seriously. I am guessing it's pretty offensive considering no one is willing to say it.
I’m waiting too. It’s directed towards me lol. I know what it is but I want him to sack up and say it.Seriously. I am guessing it's pretty offensive considering no one is willing to say it.
Viet doesn't rhyme with vet?....The Viet Cong? Seriously? You must be relatively young.
I'm well under 45, and yet I chose to not remain ignorant of things that occurred before I was born. What's your excuse?Literally no one under 45 was alive during any part of the Vietnam War.
I mean....thats what the VC were. I'm not sure what you're confused about guy. Try learning about our nation's history.Viet doesn't rhyme with vet?....
Guess it boils down to what one can realistically expect. Since him being fired is not realistic because of the contract, one can realistically hope he resigns. So why do you guys always say back to people "well we never said we wanted him fired". I see so many saying this in the anti Cal group.
And it's fine. I respect that opinion. It is what it is. But I just didn't understand people snapping back saying well we never wanted him fired.........they definitely do lol. Fired or gone = same thing really lol.
I mean....thats what the VC were. I'm not sure what you're confused about guy. Try learning about our nation's history.
Well, VC can stand for a lot of things. It's primarily the abbreviation for Venture Capitalist. So trying to say VC has some historical context of meaning Viet Cong would only demonstrate a lack of historical accuracy on your part.I mean....thats what the VC were. Well, can you show us the historical reference for where VC was meant as an abbreviation for Viet Cong?I'm well under 45, and yet I chose to not remain ignorant of things that occurred before I was born. What's your excuse?

So, military members using the military alphebet refered to them an V-C or Victor charlie. That isn't demonstrating a historical context where Viet Cong were commonly referred to as VC. Most people don't know or use the military alphabet. It sure doesn't explain how vet and Viet supposedly sound alike...After this, I think I'll go find a Vietnam War discussion board and talk about basketball.
Wikipedia:
The term Việt Cộng appeared in Saigon newspapers beginning in 1956.[5] It is a contraction of Việt Nam Cộng-sản (Vietnamese communist),[5] or alternatively Việt gian cộng sản ("Communist Traitor to Vietnam").[6] The earliest citation for Viet Cong in English is from 1957.[7] American soldiers referred to the Viet Cong as Victor Charlie or V-C.

Tango Uniform - TU means toes up in the military. That isn't common in history for most people. Whisky Charlie - WC means water closet. Again, in a historical context no one is going to be aware of that. Tango Yankeee - TY means Thank you in the military, most people aren't going to know that.
The only 1 of those I have seen was full metal jacket. I honestly don't remember much about other than the crazy drill sergeant and the fat guy killing himself. If you've ever watched any movie or TV show about the war, you've heard the term "VC". Apocalypse Now, Platoon, Deer Hunter, Full Metal Jacket, . . .
With that said, I went back and found the original reference to VC, and would agree that nobody would assume he meant Viet Cong, unless they were a vet with PTSD from the war.
Whatever. Can we talk basketball?
Why would I? Im not the one who typed that out. Ask the guy who did. I was merely explaining to you what the pretty obvious abbreviation meant. Apparently you aren't aware of the term if you don't understand what clearing VC out of the bushes means.Well, VC can stand for a lot of things. I am aware of the term Viet Cong. But you haven't addressed how viet and vet sound alike?....
Yeah, I'm not ex military either. It just wasn't that difficult to figure out.So, military members using the military alphebet refered to them an V-C or Victor charlie. It wasn't. For most people anyway. Glad I could help illuminate the obvious for you.Lol, it's pretty clear it was a poorly worded diss/joke/whatever it was, when several people were scratching their heads over it.
Has zero to do with understanding that the US was in the Vietnam war..

Seems like you are in the minority in understanding what it meant. You must just be exceptional in your intelligence and understanding.Yeah, I'm not ex military either. It just wasn't that difficult to figure out.

I don't know how anyone could miss it. It's so blatantly obvious.I am. Glad you picked up on that.
You literally had to make a multi-quote post to explain it... and then another post to do the same. Lmfao.
I was clearly correct. Just own your ignorance and move on ladies. No need to get butthurt on my account because of your stupidity..I don't know how anyone could miss it. It's so blatantly obvious.![]()
hahahahaI was trying to figure out what all the Virginia Commonwealth hate was all about?
Don’t tell me it is back. Kush is LB.Leadbelly FEASTING in this thread
Heard Cal made deal with LA-Z-Boy, recliners for all players on the bench. He will have a hell of a time getting anyone to go in the game, have to wake up players on the end of the benchDon’t tell me it is back. Kush is LB.
This whole argument is kinda stupid. I haven't read this entire thread, but seems to me some people just want to argue about SOMETHING. However, you're reaching a bit. I'm 33 and if I see or hear VC, I instantly think Viet Cong. So, military members using the military alphebet refered to them an V-C or Victor charlie. Definitely a dumb argument. It was an even dumber statement by the original poster. I was just inquiring what he meant by the abbreviation and got bashed for not knowing something many seemed to be confused over. It was even more ignorant when he insinuated vet and viet rhymed. This whole argument is kinda stupid. Wow. No words. Go smoke another one Cheech. What were you correct about?
How does one get butthurt?

I think the "I want him gone crowd" deserves great credit for this so called change in Calipari. Cal learned last year he doesn't operate under immunity. He heard the push back and...Here’s the thing, we still haven played a game yet. So theoretically we could go 9-whatever again and If that happens then I will let you tar and feather me. But I think we can all agree that won’t happen. As a matter of fact you’d be hard pressed to find a single person who isn’t excited about the upcoming season. Like really excited.
But if the “I want him gone” crowd had gotten their way then we would have nothing to be excited about right now. We’d be in the middle of a major rebuild and I don’t care who new hire would have been. You all know who you are. We all saw you bumping away in a certain thread for months and just giddy like little school girls to do it.
So in that respect we can now safely say you dummies were wrong and that whole movement was stupid and you were hyper emotional. So now you can eat it.

1) Let go of Justus and Barbee
2) Brought in O and Chin
...and Coach O confirmed "Cal feels rejuvenated". Cal needed a kick in the arse and the good members of the fan base gave him what he deserved.
"Demand perfection and you'll get excellence or better every time, demand mediocrity and you'll get mediocrity or worse every time" - Coach Cal
Keep it up true fans, the demands on Cal should be equal to the demands he used to put on his players before... he became "WOKE" Cal.
