Really? In January, you said you wouldn't watch another game until Cal was gone, until this team was gone. A lot of the team and Cal are back. Now you say you can't wait to watch. Just admit that you are a fair-weather fan that makes the fanbase look ignorant, trashes the program when things aren't going your way, etc. not to mention that your word is worthless.

KyFaninNC

OK. I didn't watch the game. Saw a poster said after seeing them kneel. I knew they did Saturday, that is why I am not watching any more games till Cal and this team is gone.
Reactions:rupp876 and bkingUK

Should we also not listen to anything the Cal brigade said about that team being bad *** because it ended at 9-16? I mean we had long time posters comparing players to NBA stars, final four talk, and more. Should those people be completely ignored from this point forward and their opinions be less valid? Or does this only work one way, the way you say it works.

He also said he is 100 percent done with Kentucky basketball and he hopes UK never wins another game.

And those posters were raked over the coals as last season went off the rails. And rightfully so. OP is getting blowback for the numerous outlandish statements that he made. No harm, no foul.

I don’t have an issue as long as it’s understood that people say things when it comes to sports that are a bit over the top. I’ve said to myself numerous times f the whole thing I’m done. Doesn’t mean I meant it the way I was saying it.

I also think people that proclaim anything Cal does is excellent and then don’t pay a price for being dead wrong on his positions and choices is worse than an angry fan in the heat of the moment.

I personally think everything should be left alone and we should take the season as it comes. Not gonna lie, the *** kissers get on my last nerve, I like the hot headed fans. I think it’s what makes UK, UK.

Wasting your time. The same crowd would have let Tubby and BCG lead the program down to Indiana level.

Oh I know. And the funny thing is I know hundreds of UK fans, have discussed UK with thousands in Lexington, and have never met one like you’ll find on here. I sort of think some of these guys that love mediocrity aren’t even UK fans. Probably lifeless trolls from other programs that love 9-16 and want more of it.

Am I wrong when I think you have bumped the “bump if you want Cal gone thread many times”? Also you knew this would be a baiting thread. A lot of excitement with the upcoming season but several of you seem to do your best to try to squash any positive vibe. I do respect a wait and see approach but that’s not what you are doing.

He claimed to not watch any games last season. He also said he would not watch another game until Cal was gone. Both are facts. He can spin it anyway he wants but he quit on UK. I have zero respect for him and anyone like him.

There were some posters here that made this board rather miserable, that had to chime in in what seemed like every thread to air their unhappiness. It got so bad some were banned for life and others had to take breaks from reading what is supposed to be a light hearted break from life to discuss one of our favorite forms of entertainment. Last year was very stressful and tense for obvious reasons so hopefully we can all move on and act like grown men, but to not expect even a little bit of pushback for past actions is naive. Unfortunately instead of saying “Alright alright I was maybe a little over the top my bad!” And everyone just moving on we get people digging their heels in and resulting in this awful thread. Hopefully we can handle things with a little more grace this year but after reading this thread that’s probably me being naive.

We don't want him fired we just want him to leave.

It's the same damn thing lol. What the heck difference does it make lol.

Those fans don't like Cal and they want him gone (but not fired). It's fine to feel that way but I don't get the whole no we don't want him fired we just want him gone argument lol.

You’re right, there is no difference. That argument is really just an admission by the anti-Cal group that there is no reasonable basis to actually fire him so they just hope he takes an NBA or different college job.

Hmmm. Let me try this again. The reason we are not asking for him to be fired is because that lifetime contract prevents it. However, if he were to be fired, that’s fine. That contract pretty much let’s him stay here as long as he wants, but he could do the right thing and resign as head coach, Cal is a wonderful ambassador for the school, maybe he would do well at that.

Him doing the right thing is coaching many more years. Too bad you quit on the program. Lots of great basketball ahead.

I'm a lot more excited and optimistic about this group and this season than I have been the past probably 3 seasons. I voiced my displeasure quite frequently last season, but it does seen like Cal has made the changes he needed to make.

Tell me you’re clueless about basketball and know absolutely zero without telling me you’re clueless and know absolutely zero about basketball. This is probably the most unintelligent post I’ve read on rafters, ever. That’s really saying something, considering some of the things people say on here.

With this much hatred toward Cal, it’s simple, don’t watch any games this year. Guarantee you do, though!

So why do you guys always say back to people "well we never said we wanted him fired". I see so many saying this in the anti Cal group.

And it's fine. I respect that opinion. It is what it is. But I just didn't understand people snapping back saying well we never wanted him fired.........they definitely do lol. Fired or gone = same thing really lol.

This roster that’s being constructed for 21-22 is national championship good. I’ve seen people say they will never support Cal. If we win the title next season, are you guys still going to want him gone? If the answer to that is yes, then your priorities are in the wrong place as it pertains to Kentucky basketball. I was upset with our team last season but it’s clear it ignited a flame within Cal to not let that happen. Im shocked that people are still pessimistic after this offseason.

Here’s the thing, we still haven played a game yet. So theoretically we could go 9-whatever again and If that happens then I will let you tar and feather me. But I think we can all agree that won’t happen. As a matter of fact you’d be hard pressed to find a single person who isn’t excited about the upcoming season. Like really excited.

But if the “I want him gone” crowd had gotten their way then we would have nothing to be excited about right now. We’d be in the middle of a major rebuild and I don’t care who new hire would have been. You all know who you are. We all saw you bumping away in a certain thread for months and just giddy like little school girls to do it.

So in that respect we can now safely say you dummies were wrong and that whole movement was stupid and you were hyper emotional. So now you can eat it.

Yes, they will still want him gone.

Obviously, winning cures a whole lot. But I think for some, it goes beyond whatever happens on the court.
