If you have hopes and or expectations that Cade would lie to his best friend / brother by going somewhere other than OSU I would tell you to be prepared for disappointment.

That said, congrats on another great class.

But why is the assumption that little brother has to look out for big brother?

Couldn't big brother just as easily look out for little brother, especially when Cade will likely make a few hundred million over the next decade? I mean, whose future here is truly worth protecting and making sure "they do it right?"

The irony, that you seem to be missing by the way, is that Cannen can just follow Cade to the NBA anyway in some capacity as an agent or trainer. Even if Cade commits to OSU, this would probably be the case anyway. That's why narratives like yours are funny. Cannen likely follows Cade to the league regardless. You make it sound like Cannen's entire future is dependent on Cade's decision.

I have a brother. He is younger. If he was in the same situation, and I was in the same situation as Cade’s older brother - no way in hell I’d let him commit to OSU. I’d steer him to UK and I would just leave the OSU program. This is the only option that makes sense. Think this through, it’s the only option that makes sense. Of course, maybe they don’t think like I do. I would feel obligated to not screw up my brothers future earnings so I could coach one season at a sick program that I would be leaving after one season anyway.

same would be the case if he was picking between OSU and either Duke or UNC. Those are the only two other schools I would throw in there.

Since I still don't know how to share a pic or Twitter post lol (someone please instruct an old cramudgin on how to do so). But it looks as if Greg Brown is throwing hints to Askew as to where he may land

If Cade commits to UK, I think Kentucky also lands Brown.

UK would have three "transcendent" guys in Cade, Terrence, and Greg. B.J. isn't far behind. He gives you everything you need from a scoring perspective.

Four lottery picks with three guys likely in the top 6 or 7 of the draft. If IQ comes back, does Askew stay 2021?

Also, what if Brooks or Whitney return and fill the role of the small ball 4 beside Brown?

Dare I dream so lofty a sentiment?

Just for craps and giggles:

G Cunningham
G Quickley
G Clarke
F Brooks
F Brown

With Boston as your sixth man?

IF we land Cade, I truly think Askew stays in 2021, plays his SR. year of high school, competes in all the post season stuff, then comes as THE man at PG for 2021. I do not think he is wanting / willing to play backup behind CC. I posted yesterday I wish kids would do the 1 year prep at college and then take over as the leader year two, as opposed to playing SR. year of HS, then coming in and learning on the fly as a true freshman. But I understands Devin's side of it also. If he stays 2021 like the plan is, it more than likely means CC is on board.
Not with his recent tweets. Feel Askew wants to play with Brown, and Cade

Maybe. But there is a reason he is on board as a 2021 and will MAYBE look at 2020. It may be he wants to make sure he can get all the work needed to reclassify done, but more likely watching the roster.

I envy you Dave... I absolutely suck at fishing. I think the sword fish and groupers would have a better chance at reeling me in lol

If the information starting to leak out is true then Cade Cunningham will become a Kentucky Wildcat. It is being said that he will honor his visit to Washington and then come back home and set up an announcement setting. I don't know the timing but some think it will be soon after the Washington visit. You may ask why even take the Washington visit and I believe it's just that he is honoring is word. so we might take that as a good sign and that is if he does a verbal to UK we can take him at his word. Like Jerry Meyer said yesterday at the moment Cunningham is UK's to lose. Additionally and again if this does happen as expected it is my belief that Greg Brown will also become a wildcat
I don’t know anything about leaking information. But I can give you the rationale why Cade Cunningham will choose UK. Cunningham is a dominant HS wing scorer who will be OAD, and then will need to play point guard in the NBA. Point guard is the position he must master. He has NBA caliber raw point guard athletic tools, but needs to develop advanced point guard skills including being a floor leader with 4 other top athletes on the floor with him. Following that line of reasoning, Cunningham needs to spend 1 college season in the program that will best coach him through the transition to being a successful point guard. No other college coach in the country can do that for him better than John Calipari. It will be a business decision. That is why Cunningham will choose UK.

I still say hire his brother. Game set and match
Firstly, there are no openings on our staff. Secondly, Coach Calipari would not, and will not need to, hire a family member. Cade Cunningham will choose UK out of enlightened self interest. All along, Cunningham has been saying that he is not fixated on Oklahoma State.

He can create a position at anytime. He can be assistant to the assistant. Why not do it? Everyone else is pushing the limits and this seems to be well with in the limits. Lock it up

That is not exactly true... You are allowed to have 3 assistant coaches and anyone else you have is not allowed to do hands on work with the players i believe.

If true, this will be my favorite team of the Cal era and that’s saying something. Guards win championships. I believe we will retain Allen, possibly Brooks in addition to Ware. Guards that are all 6’6 or taller will help any defieciency of lack of rebounding in the post.
I think we could be looking a more mins earned instead of platooned 2015 team if this does come to pass.
