How many games did Bama play? Was it 20% fewer than a normal season? If so, then yes, they should.

And if Ohio State had won the CFP, they damn for sure should have had an asterisk. It was a travesty they were even let in.

Bama also played in the strongest conference.

Bruh.. my Rockets have like 7 picks this draft they're so bad lol.

Well at least they're in position to land one of those top 5 guys. And I'll at least say that by trading Oladipo, and obviously Harden a few months ago, they've committed themselves to trying to blow it up and rebuild. I know that makes it harder on the fans, but to me, that beats being consistently in the middle of the pack where your ceiling is the 7th or 8th seed and getting blown out in the first round without much chance of getting a difference maker. You're not in position for a Cunningham/Mobley/Suggs/Green/Kuminga type in this draft and not really a major free agent destination being a middle of the road team. The Wizards have been trying that and it's getting them nowhere in a hurry.

And, of course, the massive cheating. Most players on that team, including Sean May, were majoring in AFAM. May was quoted as saying that he changed to a major in which he didn't have to go to class (Indy Star article).

Look...I got no argument for you there lol. But from a purely basketball standpoint, you know I'm right. And I'm talking '09 not '05. No one really challenged them. They would beat this Gonzaga team. '12 UK would. '15 UK would. I don't know if any of the Duke teams would though.

No lies detected.

Agree 100%.. there's no sense being a 4 win football team or a 30 win NBA team..

Rockets did what they had to. Hope they don't waste CWood. The oladipo trade is still a bit of a head scratcher. I just hope they can get a top 5 pick.. as that's the cream of this year's draft. After that appears to be a big drop off.

With the NFL, I'm more in the 6 to 8 win range when it comes to being in the worst possible spot. Four wins got the Falcons and Texans the third and fourth picks. Those picks are where you want to be if you want a QB in this particular draft. The problem with those teams is the Texans traded their 2021 pick a couple years ago for Laremy Tunsil while the Falcons still owe quite a bit of money to Matt Ryan. I guess Atlanta could still take a QB, but owing so much to Ryan makes me think it's possible they won't.

I see Wood's been one positive for the Rockets in an otherwise awful year. I'm happy for him doing well now that he's got a chance to start, especially after Harden walked out on him and the rest of the team. And yes, I feel bad for the team that gets the 6th pick in this year's draft. Not that you couldn't get a good player in that spot, but yeah, you've got the consensus top 5 and then everyone wonders who the #6 guy on the board is.

You are correct. I won a lot of money on Carolina futures that year. Nobody was gonna beat them. I don’t like Carolina but I liked the fact that players came back to win a championship. A couple might ha e been able to get drafted amd leave. They played very good together as a team. Probably cause they got extra practice in since they didn’t have to go to class. Sorry man, I couldn’t resist.

You get banned from THR? Is that why you are on RR?

I didn't. Probably should've been. I'm more of a football fan. Your board is more active and we're up against some of the same schools sometimes...State, VaTech, South Carolina, UGA, etc. That and the whole football fan of a basketball school thing.

Zags are fun to watch. If they go undefeated it will always have an asterisk beside it, regardless of how the sports media wants to pump it up. 32 is not 40. And as others have said, they are never tested in their league. It’s a cakewalk year in and year out.

I like Gonzaga and they will be deserving champions if they win. But trying to compare their 32-0 to our quest for 40-0 is apples and oranges.
Obviously 32-0 does not equal 40-0. IU is given credit for the last undefeated season. Guess what their record was? It was 32-0.
So no asterisk will be next to Gonzaga if they win it all.

If I am not mistaken no team has ever went 40-0

Perhaps I worded my post wrong, so I will elaborate: when the 2015 Cats failed to go 40-0, it was seen as just that: a failure. It was seen that way by the national sports media and by our own fan base. It was also seen as a failure to break Indiana’s longstanding record, despite the fact that we were expected to play 8 more games in order to do so. And so is every other team in the modern era... except 2021 Gonzaga. That’s why there’s an asterisk. If this was 40 years ago, there wouldn’t be an asterisk.

They’ve won 27 of their 30 games by double digits as well. Pretty impressive if you ask me. Few doesn’t play stall ball, he keeps the hammer down.

Y’all be sure and tickle the boys while you work the pole. Make sure cal knows too.

Good grief people. They are gonna win it all this year but what does that have to do with Kentucky?
Because we all know it was on Cal’s bucket list to go undefeated and he blew it playing his typical stall ball.

All these great teams play 2-4 Caucasian guys all the time...Hmmm....what a novel approach Cal but that doesn’t fit Cal’s agenda/narrative.

That’s just stupid. If you can’t respect a guy that has built a mid major into a national powerhouse then you have issues. The man has made 2 FF’s of the past 4 tournaments played.
His facilities are a joke compared to major programs and he plays in a high school gym.
Cal has access to the best of everything and has ran it into the ground.
Gonzaga Isn’t Duke, UNC, or Louisville, and the other cheats. No need to hate on them.

I don’t really understand the Gonzaga hate either. I haven’t watched a single tournament game but I don’t think it’s unusual for a person to pick a team to root for when his team isn’t playing. It may be different if it was another blue blood but it’s not like Gonzaga is a rival . I remember back in the day I was pulling hard for Larry Bird and Indiana State to win it all , just because they were from a small conference and I LOVED watching them (mainly Bird) play .

The fans who think like Cal.
In Cal’s mind he is UK basketball. He thinks he is what Mark Few is to Gonzaga. He believes we were nothing before him.

Mark Few is Gonzaga. That man built them into a powerhouse and they would be nothing had he not came along.

UK would be UK without Cal. And we were UK before Cal.

I can’t tell if you are more obsessed with zags or Cal but you’re definitely self loathing. Like I said, zaga is awesome and this is their year. If they don’t win it this year they may never. But they are fun to watch and very good. But what does any of that have to do with Kentucky? Nothing.......unless you’re a self loathing doomer crying into your pillow.

What's this we stuff? If you played for UK or worked for the team I can see it. If that's the case kudos to you.

While Mark Few is the man who has lead Gonzaga, Dan Monson was the man who lead Gonzaga to their first Elite 8 in 1999. Dan Fitzgerald lead them to their first tournament in 1995 so I would argue those two men started the work that Few kept going and chose to stay.

They were not title contenders year in and year out in 1995 or 1999. Typical Cal fan trying to lump elite 8’s in with Final Fours.
We don’t hang banners for elite 8’s at UK but we do Final Fours. So I stick with Mark Few built Gonzaga.
Cal didn’t build UK! We just had the worst season in a century under his watch!

It’s truly entertaining to see all the Gonzaga/Few, the Alabama/Oats, the flavor of the day based on the last game coaching wishes. As I said in another thread, I don’t hate Gonzaga at all. I think Few is probably a great guy. That said, I’m a Kentucky fan. I don’t go around pulling for other teams either unless they are playing Duke or Kansas.

Gonzaga will likely take some fans from Kentucky this season. We could stand to lose a few. Did I say few. Ha. I actually know a “few”fans who became fans of Gonzaga back when they got fed up with Smith. Good bye.
