Will it ever end

Here is what I don't like.

Scott seems to take a laissez-faire approach to coaching the team.

What I mean by this, is he will make statements like the team is actually in charge of how good they are going to be. He will say things like, I've never been part of a team like that before.. as if he is questioning the players resolve to play and leaving that up to them.

I know it's not 97, and maybe things used to be like that, but clearly there isn't the right upper class leadership to leave things up to the kids right now.

Bo would have put his boot in some asses, and made things happen. Scott shrugs his shoulders and punts like, well if they don't want to be that good, then it's on them type of thing.

I also think Scott might be a little too close to the program to be objective. When coaching at another place, he's not thinking of Tom looking over his shoulder or the fan scrutiny like he has here, so Scott might not be doing things the same way as if he were somewhere else.

In either case, he's got to deal with it, and he's getting paid big money to do it.

If he doesn't produce, you have to consider getting someone else who can, and there is always someone else willing to step up and take a swing at it.

I appreciate your take. I’m bothered mostly by his play calling and lack of focus on special teams. Very similar to those college basketball coaches who don’t care about free throw shooting.. but anyways, the honeymoon is over. Frost has to start delivering a better product. He has to find a way to make it to a bowl this next year under a very difficult schedule. The good news is that both areas that I’m very bothered by, Frost addressed it this offseason.

Bad Coach? Hell, he only lost one more game per season then Fleck had in the same span and everyone calls Fleck a good to great coach. He even took a 0-12 UCF team and built them into what they are now and went 13-0 and beat an Auburn team that also beat Bama, Georgia and almost won the SEC Title that season. You don’t do that being a bad coach. My suggestion, why not wait and see how year 3 looks before calling our very own Head Coach BAD. This right here is exactly my point and why some of our Husker fans are the absolute WORST in the country.

Or considering Martinez had surgery immediately after the season ended, maybe that’s why he played bad due to being injured and not actually regressed. Again, this comes back to the whole...let’s see how year 3 goes before making assumptions. Even Urban Meyer claims Martinez is a legit QB talent (Dude obviously knows talent when he see it) and Frost and Coach V have shown to be great QB developers. I don’t know about you but I’m giving the benefit of the doubt here and assuming Martinez struggled so badly due to playing injuried last season and not actually regressed.
If that is the case, then Frost road the Martinez train at the expense of the rest of the team. Frost needed to win 6 games , Luke looked to me to have provided the better opportunity to get us there last year.

You can argue against that if you would like , but truth is we lost games we should not have.

no reason to argue against that. Everyone should know this answer and why he did what he did. Luke McCaffrey was redshirting no matter what, end of story. And he did try to play other QBs, Vedral and McCaffrey played and had a shot and both got hurt too.

Attacking Scott Frost for not recruiting Burrow is low hanging fruit. No one really wanted him when he was transferring, and he wasnt that good his first season in Baton Rouge. Frost is not the only one that misjudged that one. Every college in the country would have wanted Burrow if they knew he would be that good. Shoot, Ohio State probs would have tried to keep him.

People need to let it go.

Idk, people may let it go if Frost manages to field a team capable of reaching a bowl game. Can he go three years in a row without making a bowl and survive as HC? I guess we will see...

No clue. But I think the issues are exclusive of each other. Whether or not he fields the team we want, I think it is silly to fault him too much for the Burrow deal.

Hell, if you did a poll after 2018 as to which QB Husker fans wanted, AMart or Burrow...it would most definitely be Amart by a WIDE margin.

People don't want to get it, Frost is building for the long haul and taking GT's or other other extreme short timers Scott will not do as that is not building for long term. Scott is also not recruiting guns for hire so get over it.

Hard to believe he wouldn't consider taking a grad transfer under any circumstances. That would be pretty foolish.
