I'm not saying NU is a good team or guaranteeing a win. I'm just saying that I would slap your mom and spit in your face and you wouldn't do a damn thing. Probably wouldn't even make eye contact with me.
Don't come to these boards talking trash and making a fool of yourself if you don't want me to tell you like it is. Take care, *****!Laughing
So brave so strong typing away at that keyboard. Honest question, have you even left the boarders of Nebraska?

Please tell me their are some reasonable Nebraska fans on this board, anyone?

Is your Apex Jacket white and red or straight red? Have you followed the lead of other skirt fans and converted your VHS tapes to DVD? That way it can be 1999 every day for you.
Dude, your troll game is pretty weak. Are you old enough to drive? Honest question.

As an Iowa fan you can sign me for a guaranteed 7-10 wins every with junior as long as you can guarantee he will in fact get that 7-10 every yr. we fired a reliably good ( not great) Tom Davis in basketball. A lot of us Iowa fans see what a mistake it was to do that now so most would be happy with top 20 teams every yr

Would you rather take playing in the outback bowl or pinstripe bowl every year for 10 years. Or having some rough years of no bowls but playing in the rose bowl or major bowl twice every ten years?

If it was 3 rose bowls and 7 losing seasons vs 8 outbacks and 2 pinstripes? I’d probably still take the 8 outback scenario. I’d just rather enjoy all 10 seasons than get super hyped for 3 then be ultra disappointed the other 7

Mitch Sherman writes for The Athletic. He wrote today;

Notably, it’s the second-most Ferentz-like thing Ferentz would ever say in a news conference.

(The most Ferentz-like thing he could say came in response to the previous question, when the Iowa coach recounted his process of applying for jobs in 1981, ultimately landing at Iowa as a Hayden Fry assistant. Seriously, when Ferentz retires in 2035, he could travel around Iowa if he wanted — I suspect he will want to — and joyfully recount his career, moment by moment.)

Dr. Tom Davis was shown the door. But, he came back into coaching.

I don't get the speculation on Kirk Ferentz retiring anytime soon.

His mentor Joe Moore was shown the door. I don't see Kirk Ferentz looking to retire anytime soon.

Hayden Fry, Bill Snyder and Joe Paterno all worked and enjoyed being a head football coach.

Mitch is likely right. Kirk isn't Barry (AD) or Tom (GOP congressman/AD).

Lets get back to reality. I'd rather be Iowa and play in an Orange/Rose bowl every five years
Than be Nebraska and play in increasingly worse bowls to no bowls. Nebraska isn't anywhere close to a major bowl yet, and hasn't been in years.

That's a false statement. We've played in 3 conference championship games since 2009. Lost them all, but if we win we go to a major bowl. I'll call that close. In the same time, Iowa has played in 1 conference championship. The Big 10 expanding has probably been a bad thing for Iowa as you will probably never win a Big 10 title. Your ability to claim a share is gone. I thank god every day I am not an Iowa fan. Never seen a fan base pump their chest so hard about being mediocre.

Opposite of a false statement, I purely listed the bowl games, since that was what the argument was over. You can't argue with the facts. I agree that it is tougher to win a Big 10 title, but you think that's somehow different for Nebraska?? Iowa is pumping their chests at winning 4 straight vs the Huskers and being medicore. Nebraska is pumping their chests from winning at Maryland and being downright bad. Who is worse?

Congrats, you are beating Nebraska in one it's worse stretches in history. I guess that is something to thump your chest for? Just proves my point of you love to be mediocre. It would be one thing if you were beating good Nebraska teams, but you aren't. I don't think the majority are thumping their chest over the Maryland victory. Most NU fans realize we have issues right now and injuries. It's going to take a few years, but I ask you this. If the vaunted Iowa team is so big and bad, why could you only beat a 4-8 team last year at the wire, and also why are you only favored by -5 over this team. This team that your fans say is god awful and can't do anything. If that were the case, why isn't the line in the double digits?

You arguing that your team is worse than we think? Iowa should have won by more? You're not very good at this.

In 2011 Brian Ferentz was the tight ends coach for the Patriots. His star tight end???? You guessed it.

Aaron Hernandez. Reason 5 million to hate Iowa.

That's kind of weak.....unless you really think that a TE coach is the one that signs the players contracts....

He also coached Gronk....kind of hard to bash him on that end.

I don't think he actually coached Gronk. Gronk would have been much worse if that was the case.

You make this too easy.

https://www.si.com/nfl/2016/09/15/rob-gronkowski-patriots-nfls-brainiest-tight-end

"New England has a power-based rushing attack. If a team pits only cover artists against Gronkowski, they risk getting mauled on the ground. Gronkowski credits much of his blocking development to Brian Ferentz, who coached Patriots tight ends in 2010 and ’11 and now is the offensive line coach at Iowa. “He taught me it’s always about keeping your feet running and keeping your hands inside,” Gronkowski says. “Like when you’re pushing a car. What are you going to do? You’re not going to push like a one-legged duck paddles. You’re going to run your feet, just like you’re running.”

Fake news. We all know Brian didn't do any coaching of Gronk. Like I said, Gronk was good. Brian isn't. We also know Bonerfarts is too retarded to understand sarcasm. #winning

Wait Nebraska isn't good right now? Holy cow, thanks for the insight. You are comparing the bottom of Nebraska football, to the peak of Iowa football, to justify your settle for mediocracy mindset.

BTW, Kirk has been at Iowa 20 years and has been to three major Bowls (02, 09 and 15) and has had five losing seasons (99, 00, 06, 07, 12). Hardly the good every year, great every five years, you are painting. More like losing season once every four years.

We've finally got one poster that admits that Nebraska isn't good now. If you poll Iowa fans most will admit that are pretty average most years. The issue I take with the "mediocracy mindset" is sure we could fire our coach after 9 wins season but look what it gets you? 3 straight bowless seasons, 4 straight losses to Iowa, a decade without a "New Year's 6" bowl. There's nobility in our slow and steady approach. Huskers seem to think the glory days are just around the corner, but sorry to break it to you, they ain't ever coming back. It's been too long, and you've been down to long, the mystic is gone. Everyone else has caught up, the Big 10 isn't the Big 8. Enjoy the glory days memories.

Big 10 is very comparable to the Big 8. Big 10 is essentially Ohio St. and everyone else with Penn St. and Wisconsin being the next tier. Back then it was NU and everyone else with KSU, CU and Mizzou being decent at time. Nice try though.
