And the problem now is that you can't roll-back the ill-timed tax cuts as it may actually throw our economy into recession. So now we are in the muck of less than predicted tax revenues and reckless spending when we should be paying down our debt at a massive rate (in a growing economy)

Whatever GDP ends up this year it'll be better than 3.0% which is something Obama, who you dolts on the Left claim is responsible for this current GDP, could never produce in any one year on his own.
Trump's cabinet has been drained of swamp dwellers and mal contents who would rather be working for Hillary and paying back her favors to Foreigners who bought access to her during the '16 campaign while she tried to blame Russians for her unexpected defeat (still looking for all that collusion btw).

That's the first thing you've posted on here I 100% agree with. BTW, the economy usually grows no matter what Congress fails to do to control its own deficit spending. They benefit from the private sector generating enough revenue for them to waste.

Hope that growth outpaces interest rates while keeping inflation in check. Luckily our monetary policies are outstanding (the Fed). The more likely scenario is the spending will depress our growth, but not to the point of recession. Of course one wind gust the wrong way and it all falls down.

Trump was highly critical of Obama's GDP, So in order to improve GDP while he is in office, he increased spending massively (drives GDP up) and he cut taxes massively (drives GDP up). Combined, these two MASSIVE economic stimulants might get us to 3.0 GDP in 2018. Yippee. We wreck future growth by increasing spending and reducing taxes just for the president's ego in order to say he achieved higher GDP growth that Obama. (PS by some accounts the two stimulants together added about as much as 1.6% to the 2018 GDP....again Yippee)
So if you cut spending ATL, it generally hits GDP negatively. The government buys less so GDP should go down to a degree all things being equal. There is no chance that Trump is going to allow spending cuts because the GDP for 2019 is projected for very Obama-like 2.6-2.9% growth with increased spending. I think even the idiot Trump can see that reduced government spending could drive that number down further. He won't stand for that. So therefore, you won't see any significant reduction in government spending.

I never said that our economy is/was dependent on deficit spending. I just simply stated that increased spending can positively impact GDP.
You asked what the Dems offer as an alternative? We can start by stating the fact that Obama was reducing deficit spending his last 5-6 years in the white house. That was reality.
OM1 you know it's perfectly fine if the Democrats don't think Trump's policies will work. My question to you is why all the bitching & complaining about the policies without offering their own better alternatives?
It's one thing to complain about current conditions or get upset about deficit spending or all the other stuff that you've been whining about in this thread. It's quite another to offer successful alternatives that will address the very issues you're complaining about.
What were the policy alternatives Democrats asking for control of the House offered voters in this fall's elections? Are they going to legislate on that agenda? Just like revenue, spending isn't a 0 sum game. tax rates decrease, revenue stays the same. Just because government doesn't spend as much, doesn't mean the GDP goes down. This isn't 8th grade algebra, it's real math.
Accumulatively during his entire 8 years in office, Obama rang up more red ink than all of his predecessors combined! That too is reality.
Budget sequestration and forced across-the-board cuts much to Obama's dislike resulted in those deficit-reductions you are now bragging about. There wasn't one budget that Obama proposed that was in either in balance nor spent less in succeeding years than in previous years. That too is reality.
Democrats opposed virtually every spending proposal that Trump sent up when he first took over, most of them were deficit spending reductions. That too is reality.
Democrats did not offer $1 Less in spending in any year they've been in control than the deficits they are now complaining about which they do not currently control.
You coming on here and acting like Democrats are the deficit Hawks is like me coming on here and acting like Pitt is going to be playing in the final four for the college football national championship. And I said GDP is not dependent on government spending particularly deficit spending. The economy grows regardless of whether government spends within its means or wastes what it is allowed to spend based on revenues generated by the private sector.
here is what I said, "So if you cut spending ATL, it generally hits GDP negatively." There was no intent on my part to say or imply it was perfectly correlated or that GDP would go down. In fact this is the best time to reduce spending because the economy can absorb it.
Break it down even further, and a growing population can actually force an economy to expand......Maybe we need more brown people??????

We agree then. Cut spending. Keep taxes low so the economy can continue growing adding additional revenue to the treasury as it usually does when taxes are cut.
Don't have a better solution? Stop complaining about the policy we're currently following.
