When is this trickle down stuff going to start trickling down?

You have zero idea about economic or fiscal policy. Cutting taxes and increasing spending is downright stupidity during robust economic times,

I am a fiscal conservative. I am all for low debt and prudent spending.

You said in this thread you are not an economist that was true. The last part of this post proves you are nothing more than a congenital liar.

Were you complaining like you are now when we were increasing both? (taxes AND spending)

Go ahead and lie some more. Congenital means it's in your DNA.

Break it down even further, and a growing population can actually force an economy to expand......Maybe we need more brown people??????

An economy grows as demand for goods and services grows. A larger population can facilitate that but it is not a prerequisite. China has three times as many people as we do but we still have greater demand, and our economy is larger as a result.

What is also inescapable is as Government shrinks an economy also grows. The smaller government is, the larger the economy can grow.

Want to see a stagnant or no growth economy? Look at anywhere Socialists are growing the government beyond even the private sector.

Venezuela is exhibit A.

Can you pinpoint a time when we were both increasing spending and taxes?

Didn't Clinton and the '92 Dems increase both taxes and spending? You opposed that as a fiscal conservative am I right?

When Obama extended the Bush tax cuts and linked those to additional spending you were OK with all that as a fiscal conservative correct?

Whenever Democrats are in charge.

idiot.....thanks for playing. Under Obama we had a tax increase in 2012 (effective 2013) when annual deficits were falling. (fell significantly in 2013). So to your point, your scenario never happened under Obama. In fact the president did what an educated person might do during an expanding economy, reduce spending and raise taxes to pay debt. (and that ATL is why he never achieved the 3% annual GDP growth.)

I bet your head is spinning now

No it isn't. I'm just amazed at how casually you lie! So tell me OM1, what year did Obama propose less spending than the previous year? Now who's head is spinning?

a subtle but purely ATL change from actual to propose when proven wrong.......brilliant

You're pimping Obama as some kind of deficit Hawk and I'm asking you to point out one budget he submitted where he asked to spend less money than what he asked to spend in the previous year?

Surely a fiscal conservative such as yourself can nail Obama on that one can't you?

Clinton and the Dems were elected for the 92 cycle they took over in 93 and immediately raised taxes and spending. You opposed both am I right?

He raised taxes on the upper incomes and lowed taxes on the lower and middle incomes. I likely supported that.

I can find no evidence he dramatically increased spending or increased it at all. His policies produced surpluses his last 4 years.

thanks for changing the game in the middle...... classic.

I didn't vote for Obama in 2012. Speaks volumes on how I thought of his fiscal policies. His additional regulation during recession was stupid and the driver of my dislike for him. But the truth is that spending decreased. Credit whomever you want.

With Republicans in control of the spending. They (Clinton and Dems) in fact dramatically increased taxes and spending which YOU said you oppose.

Guess that DNA is hard to ignore huh OM1?

No I credit Republicans who controlled Ways and Means during 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016. Obama was still sending them deficit spending proposals during those years.

this makes no sense. Please re-read and correct

Republicans took over in '94 after Clinton and the Dems tried Obamacare 1.0. It was called Hillarycare back then. Republicans passed Welfare reform and cut spending that Clinton and Democrats fought like Pit Bulls. Where were you during those battles OM1?

Probably pulling Democrat levers during the '96 election cycle. [eyeroll]

I do think I voted for Billy Boy in 96. I was in a new house, making decent money, harem on the side, and still breaking ankles on the court. Times were good. Definitely did not vote for Gore in 2000. He is/was dumber than a box of rocks

It makes perfect sense. Your history revisionism is what's askew.

Tell me you opened this thread by referring to something called "trickle-down". What fiscal conservative calls low taxes and limited government trickle-down? Wouldn't you agree that's a pejorative statement in opposition to lower taxes and smaller government as a remedy to growing the economy?

You also stated in posting to the thread that you are a fiscal conservative. That you prefer lower budgets and "prudent" spending. What is "prudent" spending that you favor?

You agree all taxpayer-funded abortions should be immediately ended? You do favor increasing spending to strengthen our military? You agree with Trump's proposal to require work for food stamp recipients? You support ending funding for illegal Sanctuary cities?

Or is all of that "prudent" spending in your opinion as a fiscal conservative?

So how the hell can you call yourself a fiscal conservative yet you voted against Republicans in '96 who were simply trying to cut spending and balance the budget?

You don't really have to answer that honestly I know it's in your DNA to lie about it.

No self-described fiscal conservative favors increasing taxes on upper incomes and lowering them on lower incomes. If anything fiscal conservatives favor lower taxes on all incomes or no taxes on any incomes.

True fiscal conservatives favor a national retail sales tax or a consumption tax in lieu of an income tax. But you're such a congenital liar it doesn't surprise me you don't know the difference calling yourself a fiscal conservative.
