Scholarship or walk-on? Playing TE or defense?
Yes.Scholarship or walk-on?
Of course.Playing TE or defense?
ScholarshipScholarship or walk-on?
TE. Will be in the same class as Rafdal and Allen, both juniors in 2020.Playing TE or defense?
Seems to be some confusion about this. Journal Star says he is expected to play immediately. He's not eligible this year? There needs to be some consistency with how the NCAA grants eligibility. Justin Fields plays an entire season at Georgia and then when it becomes apparent that he will have to wait another season (or two) to get the starting job, he transfers and is granted immediate eligibility at Ohio State.
If we want free agency in college football that's fine, but it should apply to all players.
Obviously, but I thought I remember reading somewhere that he did pretty well in high school at LB. And our bigger need is at LB right now but apparently all the news reports do say TE.Wouldn’t be a another weapon for Adrain if he is on Defense.
I don't get this one. Of all the areas of need. I wouldn't put TE as a high priority. Plus he has to sit out a year. Looking at his stats, it is nothing that stands out as an upgrade to what we currently have on roster. Unless Frost has other plan for him.

The only other teams after him were Iowa and K-state. (It is nice to beat out Iowa however) Unless Frost has other plan for him.
Iowa whole offensive strategy revolves around the TE and developing them. I have no doubt Iowa could have probably used him and turned him into a good TE. Neb doesn't. I just don't see the point of filling a scholarship spot with another middle of the road TE.Iowa seems to know a little bit about tight ends - the two first round picks in the NFL draft say "hello".

Iowa fan checking in. Don't let his rank out of HS scare you. He has good size and is a good receiver. Iowa staff wanted him but backed off a little after his visit to Nebraska. Iowa has been recruiting TEs well this year and are in on some good ones so he may have found playing time tough next year, even if he played some this year.
I hope you're right. He didn't exactly tear it up at Rutgers. Jack Stoll put up better stats last year. If he was a stud, I would think he would have been a focal point for the Rutgers offense. He only had 2 TDs all season.
If he is legit, I would have to think either Allen or Rafdal will move on after this season. The TE room will be pretty crowded in 2020.
Its a msg board 99.9 % of stuff on here is opinion based. Nowhere did I claim my opinion as fact. Your assumption is Im all knowing. Based on his stats the previous 2 years at Rutgers. It is safe to say he is middle of the road. Until he proves other wise. Which he very well could do once here.'middle of the road' seems like quite the assumption from the peanut gallery who've yet to see the kid in uniform.
perhaps, and I know this might be a stretch to you, all-knowing poster, the offensive staff have thoughts on how to utilize a 6'6" receiver with natural ball skills in a fast-paced offense.

those 2 TDs tied for the team lead last year. Rutgers receivers totaled 5 receiving TDs all season. They threw for, as a team, less than 1,600 yards.
what are you talking about?
Oh I still trust Frost. At this time I just don't understand the logic of bringing on another TE.Based on several comments regarding this new player and the “thought process” by the coaching staff...I assume all of these shirts are now on clearance in Lincoln. Winking

Ok let me rephrase. His production up to this point is nothing special.I think saying he is nothing special is a bit overboard. No way to welcome this young man to our great university imho

Underwhelming commit for sure
Obviously, after Stoll talent may have been shaky at TE.
another weapon for Adrian and Coach Frost!
Yawn..That's what your bosses boss said when you were hired.
