I imagine kids with potential get offers like this now more than we know. One thing I think is pretty obvious, we will see more kids opting for professional development and skipping college.

In terms professional development, do these training operations give players an advantage over college? I'd imagine that one benefit (or drawback depending how you look at it), is a kid doesn't have to focus on school.

Do they get paid? Get better coaching? Better development? Play better competition?

I think in the short term that is true and I am fine with the one and does no longer going to college. Right now this program is thought to be a one year experience with the league picking up the tab. After that they go into the draft and sink or swim? Wouldn't a better solution be to just reach an agreement with the players association to allow HS kids back into the draft and then have individual teams pick up the cost of developing their own rather than the league doing it?

Sure seems like's a helluva prospect. Perhaps he'll sneak into the top 50? Tallest guard in his class with a sweet stroke.
