This section of the article just [laughing] [laughing] [laughing]:

Not only is Canarias Basketball Academy (CBA) registered at the same business address in Gran Canaria as Promosport & Tours, but also one of CBA’s assistant coaches and its operations director, Samuel Sosa Cruz, is listed on contracts as Promosport’s president. Promosport’s college clients added at least 19 former CBA players to their rosters over the last six seasons, and in multiple cases, colleges signed Promosport contracts or took Promosport trips within months of adding former CBA players.

When the NCAA closed the loop hole that allowed teams to play exb. opponents like Athletes in Action because thats how they were landing recruits....... wouldnt this also be against the rules because its the same thing....

The rogue UL program should be completely shut down for a year - no practices, no scrimmages, no recruiting, etc. Set the example that these UL-type shenanigans will not be tolerated. Players who weren't involved in the shenanigans are free to leave and be immediately eligible elsewhere. IMO.

At this point, I'd have to think the ACC is rethinking the Louisville addition. Honestly, at what point would it take for them to get kicked out of the conference?

They've got more scandals currently ongoing than years they've been in that conference. That's amazing! I'm not even including the pre-ACC days, either.

All of this attention that UL is getting helps them sweep the UNC scandal under the rug & out of sight

Louisville had 21 feet of expensive suck.
That may be the saddest part of all. If you're paying hookers to have sex with recruits and doing backroom, shady deals to pay players to come to your school through a third party, you'd think the players would be better.

And the irony is certainly not wasted on me... from the FIRST day Calipari came on board, what have we been hearing from UofL fans? "Calipari is shady and slimy." "You've sold your soul for wins." "UofL does it the right way."

Oh, the irony! I must say, it does make me chuckle. :D

Its kinda funny how all of a sudden Cal comes to UK and its UL that starts cheating like crazy.

UL was having trouble recruiting top prospects state side so they started recruiting foreign players in droves. I was wondering why UL was getting so many foreign players, now we know. Nothing will come of this, the NCAA will just change a policy, but, another recruiting loop hole for UL will be closed.

UL, Minny, Okie ST
all three with direct ties to Pitino
Dicktino, Junior, Willard, Ford and Pelphrey.

Interesting to know if any of the other coaches have ties to this group above. Wes Miller, Jerod Haase, Mike Dunlap and Homer Drew.

It appears that LilBrothel willingly pays $50K for a big, foreign, white-guy who is at best, a "project." But pays much much less, in the thousands, for strippers and prostitutes to recruit the 3 or 4 star African American players. That seems to be quite a bit racist to me.

I agree, that is how the article portrays it, and it could have happened that way. But that is a lot of effort to sign one kid, and not much money. If you are going to pay for a kid's services, especially a foreign kid, it would seem much simpler to just pay someone off under the table. It would be very difficult to ever prove anything if you did it right. Creating a paper trail is asking for trouble, even if you were trying to make it look legal.

You got a lot of experience with sliding someone 50K under the table without leaving a paper trail?

I can see you've been reading the UL scout board. Every time they get caught doing something some wag over there starts harping about Bledsoe's high school career.

I don't read it unless someone post a link over here but someone had quoted crazycard (fitting name) in another thread the other day quoting something about Bledsoe and it warranted an investigation. I mean, seriously, paying escorts for over 4 years to help you with recruiting and his big concern was a coach helping out a homeless family [laughing]

It was like a UT fan where I worked asked me how long it would be before Cal had us on probation. It wasn't a year or so later, BBQ Bruce winds up getting canned, then after running Martin off, they wind up hiring another guy with boatload of NCAA baggage and wind up canning him as well. I've had a lot of fun with this guy over the last several years. [laughing]

As for UaVel, more than a few people have touted Tommy Turtleneck's abilities as an AD, but the cold, hard truth is that he runs a renegade athletics program that has become a **** stain on the state of Kentucky and college athletics in general.

Actually the way I read it is that cancelling was always part of the plan. Basically by cancelling the trip they "act" as if they were buying a legitimate trip and then they changed their mind about it and decided to go another route. In the process though, they have to give up the "down payments" because they were always non refundable.

It's a dirty deal that is thinly veiled as a good faith payment. But in reality that 50k was the payment for the kids services. They were never intending on using them for that trip.

This, absolutely. Clever, really. Nobody would probably have noticed if not for whoregate.

Come on guys. Y'all are overreacting. I mean who doesn't look for a travel agent on a small Spanish island off the coast of Moracco when they want to book a trip? It's not as if there are travel agents in Louisville. It's totally reasonable that the Pitinos are paying big money to a travel agent on a small Spanish island to book trips. You conspiracy theory types don't understand that it's simply a coincidence that the owner of the travel agency happens to be the coach for prospects that sign to play for the Pitinos.

Ever since we hired Coach Cal all I've heard from Louisville fans is how soon we'd be on probation and how clean their program is.

Boy, the Cards fans couldn't be more wrong. Once the NCAA Investigators start snooping around they look at everything not just the current allegations. They may have to stake out there a long time as more information unfolds.

Could get interesting.
