But it’s not dismantled. Rowe wasn’t codified law. Rowe was a ruling by the court. There was nothing to dismantle. All any state has to do is put forward a bill and vote, or, if they’re too chickenshit, make it a referendum vote, or if they’re still too chickenshit, kick it back to the Fed to do a bill / amendment.I don't mean to say I disagree with the way or why they decided what they did. I disagree w/ dismantling Roe v Wade, but I'm not a woman. So, at the end of the day its not a voting issue for me. It doesn't affect me personally.
That’s the point I’m making. People are trying to boogeymen the court. They did their job and further they interpreted and made their ruling correctly. For all of the handwringing and Pearl clutching by the left over this being settled, it’s a lie. It wasn’t settled. It wasn’t codified into law. For 40+ years, we had open and vigorous debate. This was, is, and has been congress abdicating its responsibility and deferring their responsibility to the court.
At literally any point since Rowe’s ruling, a bill could’ve been put forward and signed into law. You don’t even have to look far in the rear view. The Dems held both houses and the WhiteHouse for 2 years, why didn’t they do something to backstop Rowe?
The reality is, the Dems want the tactical dividing issue. They don’t actually care either way, if they did, they’d have done something about it. They want the issue.
How am I wrong?
