Sorry to hear that brother posters. (I will have to get a better understanding of that AG stuff.) I am so insulated...

Hello All,

Sitting at my computer, took the BB to school earlier. (His Mom dropped him off to us before she went to work around 6.)

Well, I thought I was "done" with the paperwork stuff. I am working a couple items today and should be around my computer until I leave to pickup the BB around 3:15. (I like to be in line early so he doesn't have to stand around. he likes Papa picking him up. Papa brings snacks... Just a little but it makes a difference.

I wish I could post a video of My grand daughter's ressponse to the treats I left at her house yesterday while I was working there. So funny, she got her candy and Mom got "none" though I told her she could share... ROTFLCGU (You'd have to know my oldest to understand why I laugh so much. My oldest will not buy the stuff I do but she will eat it all day long...........for free...if she can. My oldest is drop-dead gourgeous but she is so very hard-headed and makes more than I EVER did on the job. (As a GS-15 in DC that was maxed out for a couple years.)

Anyway, the laughs keep coming, I am trying to figure out a way how NOT to go to Florida in December... We shall see...

Get the jiggy into today. Make it happen capn..... Yeah...

Good morning folks. Sorry to hear about the positive Alpha Gal tests, guys. That's a real drag. It seems like ticks are suddenly an absolute menace between AG and Lyme disease, which really set me son back a few years ago.

I feel lucky to only be fending off a relatively minor onset of shingles. The worst part of this so far is the constant "I told you so" from my RN wife, who recently got the shingles vaccination, and had been nagging me to get it as well.

I know shingles can be severe, but in my case it's a bunch of red pox contained in a saucer sized area below my right nipple. I guess anyone who had chicken pox as a kid can get it, so let me be a warning to those of you who are on the fence about the vaccine, though in my case I'd just about as soon deal with this minor irritation for ten days or so as go stand in line at the pharmacy twice to get a shot.

Otherwise, another beautiful day in the east. I suspect we'll get the rain from the Caribbean storm just in time to ruin the weekend.

I hope it is sunny and mild for all of you.

Just read where MLB is currently testing in the Arizona Fall League a system limiting where outfielders can stand, similar to the rule for infielders.

I'll be a suck-egg Mule... Sports seem dead all due to ...........profit or the hope for profit. All about the do-re-me... I guess... Just stupidly killing sports...One rule change at a time...

In the past, if you were smart enough to figure out where a guy was likely to hit the ball, you could over play him and gain an advantage over guys who weren't smart enough or were to lazy to figure it out. I guess today, a computer tells you where to play. Looks like if a guy worked at it hard enough, he might fool the computer though.

Soon Sir,

If a pitcher hits a batter the batter will be able to press charges for assault.

Good morning D

So, so busy the last few months. Iv'e been down to the lake more than ever, but only to remodel. Wife went with me this week and we did manage to fish about 1 & 1/2 hours two mornings. We just trolled and caught enough Ky bass and a couple of crappie to eat fresh fish a couple of days.

Going on a group hike today and working (finishing) the new shelter on the Pine Mountain trail tomorrow. Hopefully I'll make it back in time to watch the football game. Plenty of meetings, etc next week and back down to the lake the following week (have 2 more projects to finish and I'm home free...I think). Seems like every time my wife goes with me there is something added to the list....bet that sounds familiar to you all as well.

I watched the highlights of the Bball scrimmage last night. I am hopeful.

I try to keep up in here but haven't taken the time to post much. Oh, I tested positive for Alpha Gal. Dang ticks!

Have a good one everyone.
Can't eat red meat with that correct? Man that sucks. A friend of my Daughter got it a few years ago. Seems like I never heard of anything like that years ago. I have thoughts on that but I'll keep it to myself.

Storm I recently tested positive for Alpha Gal also. Learning to adjust. It pretty much sucks not being able to eat what I want. 😟
So far, so good. My numbers were low so I've been trying odd and ends (my wife has had Alpha Gal for 1 & 1/2 years and is very reactive) and have not reacted. Glad I was able to handle Mac & cheese yesterday. I don't know if I'll try beef and pork, but we'll see.
What do you react to and what symptoms do you have?

*********************

Been up since 4:00 AM and hoping I get a call/text calling off the shelter construction work. If not, we'll most likely be working in the rain and wind all day. Fun to watch a football game in that weather from the couch, but not so much out in it working.

GO BIG BLUE!!!

Morning D-Legionnaires!

Cool morning here (for us anyway) at 60° with light winds. High to be in the low 90's though.

Going fishing this morning for the first time since about the end of May. Been way too hot and dry so, I will see if my favorite fishing holes are still thriving here shortly.

Yeah, sports are starting to get more complicated now. Not only with rules but with all of this sports betting. I have stayed away from live TV and did not realize until just a few days ago how many sports betting venues (for lack of a better word) there are. Just about every other commercial was about pay 5 dollars to start and get 150-dollar credit for free or something like that. Then there are all of those casino type games you can play too. Nuts.

Well folks, it's another weekend (extended for most) so enjoy yourselves and God Bless.

No idea why you'd have to stand in line to get shingles vaccine. I scheduled appts for them.

Been sticking with the fish, chicken and turkey. My biggest problem so far has been finding bread I can eat. When I have missed up so far it has been a slight upset stomach. I do carry an epinephrine injection just in case.

Greetings from South Africa D-Leaguers.

My wife and I have been out on safaris the past week, in the massive Kruger Park, which is the size of New Jersey, and then in the smaller, private Karongwe preserve. It’s really been spectacular. We’ve seen every African animal in the wild, most in multitudes of dozens or hundreds. I’ve been representing UK with my ballcap, and will post a photo or two when back in the states.

A few more days in Zimbabwe -Victoria Falls -and Botswana, a park called Chobe that is supposed to be spectacular. Just wanted to check in. Have a great day.
Bring us back from Africa an assistant coach!!

Lots of benefits drinking green tea. I also enjoy mine with no sugar. I always have a few bags in my lunchbox and I'll drink it at work.

Hello All,

Made my three month trip to the DC VA this morning. Started a post then but never finished it. Geez my normal about 55 minute drive 25 miles was about 2 hours and three minutes... Yeah DC traffic...

Dropped a pint of blood in the oncology department (I have hemochromotosis. Not a cancer. At least I know of none I have.) That department is the easiest for them to treat me so...

The only treatment is to drop a pint of blood every so often. My time frame has been three months since about 2005. (When I found out I had this.) (I do once a year or so drop a pint every two weeks for two or three trips to keep th ferritin levels in check.) Sure makes me feel better once I drop a pint. needles don't bug me so...

My brother has the same thing it is an inherited disease. (Comes from German/Irish decent and both your parents must be of that decent so again... Mine were.)

I feel better and have NO I repeat NO appointments for a good long while. I am SO very thankful BUT, off to work around the house I go....

Have a blessed day and hug a family member... If no one near give out a free hug as long as they don't belt you... ;)

Edit: I start my oldest daughter’s RO system install tomorrow (If the Lord doesn’t take me home.) I want to think hers will be easier but I will wait until finished to judge…
I know two brothers with that same illness. Is your brother a UK fan?

No, He's a Michigander (A lifer)(I am too, was born and spent the 1st 19 years in Michigan except for about two years from the second and third grade (Lived in Cumberland Gap and Noetown it seems a little over two years.). 9 years and 51 weeks older than me. Never could give him the ten years... A retired Corporate Jet pilot that flew Reagan around some when he was first campaigning for his Presidency against Carter. He had much more extensive physicals and helped me catch a few things early that could have been a lot worse.

Long rainy day here today. My son is out tonight to go see Chance The Rapper. The last few years I feel more like my dad did when I was growing up and telling some of my music and he just had a vague look on his face.

Heart goes out to those with the Alpha Gal. I would hate to have to worry about some things I might eat. I know my wife is having her own issues with things. Not Alpha Gal but some of the same restrictions. Her birthday is coming up and her mom wanted to make her tacos but it would have messed with her pain wise. She has loved chocolate all her life (she is 60) and it not limits her to dark chocolate. This getting older is no fun.....

Yeah I cannot imagine not eating meat. I am thankful...

I eat mostly 85% dark chocolate now but do partake if sweets are available. The dark chcolate though seems to kill my craving for sweets. I eat very little per day. One of the large bars lasts me a week or more but what I have been eating seems to do the trick.

I just bought a new laptop I am updating. (Didn't expect it until Mid-week but it came today.) A Dell.. Caught a good sale but we shall see how it works. Has a good return window of later January so... We shall see...

(Very similar, wow...) I live in Northern Virginia very close or close enough to DC (Woodbridge now but lived in Lorton, VA since 2017.). Worked at USDA for a little over five years and retired from the DON at the Navy Yard in DC...

My brother also found out a year or so ago he has Huntington's Disease. (Yeah), I tested for that as well six or seven months ago and found I did not have that one...

My brother's first name is Randy.

I would hate to have AG, I think I could live off chicken and fish, but I love a good steak! One last thing about our glass show(probably not), we have about $1500 maybe more in inventory, we discussed this the other day, if we can sell half of it, we will be satisfied! Part of the show is just the enjoyment of seeing people, old friends and making new ones!
