Yes,

Here I am... Early in the morning, heading for some shut-eye back at home. Been a real good time but this ole boy is tired and I rarely say that and mean it. I can go and go but am ready for a few hours of sleep. We shall see...

When you wake up, give thanks... I will...

Hello All,

Back at it and thankful... Thankful going and thankful coming home. Me and my grandbabies had a blast. One thing about a phone they HAVE one and Papa has the number!!!! They didn't realize how much Papa would be bugging them... ;)

I have to "learn" those babies how to text. HAHA, I think they are close to blocking me...

Papa's Florida babies are in school today...

I did enjoy one thing more than the rest. My oldest grandson is 11 now. A fine young man but he has had it hard growing up due to family strife, I won't go into the details but this boy's Papa gave him a knife... (Edit: HAHA again, this boy and his two sisters call me G-Pa... My two in Virginia who were also with us call me Papa, I think Papa is winning out, hopefully... Papa's Babies...)

Through his Dad (My son) I gave it to him to have when his Dad thinks he's ready... (I showed it to him and his interest was so quickly peaked.) His Dad let him use it a few times but his Dad keeps it for him...

That knife had been in the Pentagon at least one hundred times... He was so excited to have it. A year ago, I bought another one of these knifes as it is handy to carry and sharp.

He was to say the least the new proud owner of a knife that has seen the inside of the Pentagon a lot. I hope he has it when he is grown....

A little thing but I cannot tell you the joy and love as I watched him with it in his hands...

Good morning folks. Long trudge in the rain to work today. SUbway station repairs, so it is on the train, off the train and onto some pokey bus to sit in rush hour traffic for an hour, then back on the train. My commute time has nearly doubled from about 35 minutes to about an hour.

All is well otherwise. Facing a long, busy work day so I'll wish you all well.

Good morning from ATX. Mohs procedure fairly painless yesterday. Head bandaged. Must return for next few days. We'll see if he got it all. Need a skin graft.

Lot's going on. Y'all behave.
Reminds me of a joke:

A man was talking to a friend about an accident he had in a fire which burned a good portion of his face. The doctors grafted skin, and grafted skin, and grafted skin. He said he did not know where they got the skin from but every time his jaws got tired they wanted to sit down.

Hello All,

Busy, busy today.... Yeah,...

Have a blessed and restful evening. My Darling wants to walk around the block once. (Twice) ;) (Our block is between a quarter and a half mile. I will have to measure it but nearer a half mile I think but not that much.)

Good morning everyone.

I've been back down to the lake the last few days. Mostly remodeling but I did wake up at 4am one morning and had all the kitchen/dining room stuff to move out by lunchtime... including tearing out the cabinets. I made good progress by daylight so jumped in the boat and managed to get a small keeper walleye and a couple of 19" bass. The rest of the time was work. Hopefully I'll get back down next Sunday or Monday and get back at it again.
But first, lots of weed eating to do here at home if it drys up a bit.

Have a great day everyone.

Gooooood morning Legionnaires!

Still hot...imagine that. Dogs are happy the AC works.

Walking the monster shortly followed by a light workout today and then grocery shopping.

Albert Cheeks died yesterday due to complications of blood clots. He was on the US team that won a silver medal at the first World Taekwondo Tournament in Seoul Korea back in 1973 and has been featured in Black Belt Magazine a few times. One of the Masters of Tang So Do who studied under him and later taught me, and some others here texted me yesterday to let me know. He came here a few times to train us and test us. Pictured below (quite a few years ago) is him (in the middle) and others who tested that day after a week long seminar from Master Cheeks.

Well, attack the hump that is Wednesday folks and God Bless.

Good morning folks. Sunny and mild in the east. It'd be a lovely day not to be at work. Or so I imagine.

Busy day for me. I envy you folks who are out fishing. BB says Walleye is the best eatin' fish. I don't know, I never had that. When I think of eating fish, my favorite memory is long ago, the late 1970s when I was living in Boca Raton and working for a guy who had a big fishing boat. We'd go out of Boynton Inlet, and catch what we called Dolphin in those days. Later they were called Dorado for a while then I started seeing them called Mahi Mahi on restaurant menus. A beautiful fish, blunted headed and neon yellows, blues and greens. We'd catch a couple 20-pounders, bring them back, fillet the firm, white meat, season and grill and eat within a couple hours of catching. Just incredible.

Ah well, life takes us down a lot of pleasant roads. Hope you all are on a memorable one today.

Walleye is one of the best. A lot of fish meat on it too. Did some trolling years ago with a friend on Lake Steed in Altus Oklahoma for walleye. Caught a bunch and had a fish fry later on. Good eating fish.

Hello All,

Took the BB to his summer school,

Busy busy...going at it hard paperwork-wise hopefully one last time...

I DO want to see what focusing on retirement is like... I still have so MANY movies and pictures I want to digitize. (I can do it all to get it there BUT, I need the time.)

I want to have an online family movie freak show that Dad/Papa created and took pictures and video's of over the years... My grand babies need to see their Mom's and Dad in action to delete all the fantasy stuff my children have been telling their children for all these years. (My kids have forgotten so many video's I have they have no idea about and I sure am looking forward to "exposing" them... ;) (It is the Dad in me to keep them grounded...) HAHA, they have NO idea!

I have ALWAYS been of the adage that using the words; "I don't have time!" is a complete cop-out and at least wrong as we all have the same twenty-four hours in a day...

No pity party going on at all, if the Lord doesn't take me home, me and the BB are hitting the pool again after he gets home and eats supper. We can usually hit the pool by five to five-thirty.

We were there yesterday and hit it hard. That boy LOVES to swim and I do exercise I can only dream of other-wise. I was in that pool two hours moving hard except to hit the bathroom and a ten minut break an hour by the lifeguard. (Weird as this is a 55 and over community and they run it like it is only children. (Kids cannot swim unless accompanied by one of the adult homeowner...)

I did some serious pool work. (Yeah, I needed it but this ole boy is sore for sure.)

Have a blessed day and take any chance God gives you to praise him, God deserves your praise.

(Edit; Oh, I have to make an appointment with a nuerosurgeon I will try calling today.) My primary care doctor told me she thinks I need to keep this appointment... We shall see...)

Boy this has been crazy. The buyers are from out of state and are selling legal pot, so there have been complications. Their agent is a clown and their title company is in another state with different laws, so their title company screwed some things up. They are signing the papers in Arkansas and me in Ky. Due to the latest screw up, I won't get my money till Monday or Tuesday. My title company said she won't turn over the keys till she has funds in hand, but I did sign the papers today. what a mes this has been.

So sorry you had to go through that Sir. I have been through some bad ones as well. (Each are different though.) It sounds like the POT may have been some fringe benefits in this one. Drugs, drugs, drugs.... I need a Yuengling but will hold off until late today or tomorrow....

Morning D-Legionnaires!

Yes... Hot. We have not had rain for quite some time now. Still getting up over 100's here and no letup in the foreseeable future. Low 80's for the monster walk these mornings which shortens the walk as she has so much fur. I let her determine route and turn back point. We only go about 20-25 minutes now at a slower pace than normal.

Reds won last night and are currently on 17 games straight schedule without a day off with 3 of those already played. They play 3 against the Marlins starting tonight and then 5 against the Cardinals starting with a double header on Monday. Going to be some tired Red's players for the next couple of weeks.

Well, it's Friday, so loosen up your ties and try to take the last workday of the week easier.

You folks be careful out there and God Bless.

Or better yet, I don't get down with this new age way of thinking/carrying ones self. Folks can learn a TON from those like myself/yourselves. I enjoy reading yalls posts. Hope yall have a blessed day.

I used to let Maddie lead the way as long it was in areas I was ok with. Some folks see the dog in front and say the dog is walking you, but that doesn't have to be true. Giving the dog some measure of freedom makes the walk more enjoyable for the dog. They say a tired dog is a good dog. That is particularly true with boxers. By crossing over to the left and right to sniff things, the dog will cover more ground in a walk than a human. That helps with the "thrill of the hunt" aspect for the dog and the tired dog\good dog factor.

Good morning folks. Gloomy day in the east. Gutted out a four-mile run despite major arthritic discomfort in my right knee. My days of being able to manage that pain are probably numbered, but definitely don't want surgery right now, so I may have to cut back on running.

Busy work day. I'll be happy to get this week in the rear view mirror. Have a great day.

Welcome, look forward to hearing/ reading your spouts. I try to contain but this joint is one of my few outlets but they have so far, not told me to shut up and I am thankful...

Hello All,

Whoa, My Darling and I were alone last night for the first time in a long while.... (My kids take turns keeping us busy.) I tell them point blank to leave us alone but....... Wwweeelll (In my best Rooster Cogburn voice...)

I am having my breakfast. A couple tomato sandwiches with tomato's from My Darlings garden on sour dough bread and my coffee... I am thankful...

I will be going outside shortly to change my oil. My Darling wanted to go to Annadale to shop but in checking, no sales so...

It looks overcast outside but if no rain I may go to my youngest daughters and cut her grass. Yeah it is geting up there, my youngest asked me to show her how to use her mower but that just means; "Dad you do it soon please."

Have the blessed day that the Lord has planned for you.

Oh, my breakfast....

Yeah, I went large but these are so darned good....

Yeah, she goes side to side, mail box to mail box. Mid way through I can take her off of the leash and she is good. However, when comes up to me wanting back on the leash.

Tomato sandwiches?

Yes Sir,

Bread, tomato's, mayonaise, and a little black pepper.... Not a better meal I can think of most of the time... Nearly straight out of the garden...

I also like that same sandwich with crackers in stead of a piece of cheese. (I didn't have any crackers...)

I had a pound of Black Forest ham in the fridge as well which I like but that would just degrade those sandwiches... I do eat'em that way though....

Edit:

HAHA, I changed my oil in my car today after all that driving. Then took about 15 quarts of used oil and three gallons of used anti-freeze to the recycle center, then went over to my youngest daughter's and mowed her grass and trimmed it. (I forgot my blower so I left it a little messy. I will clean it up tomorrow.)....

Then My Darling called me as I was driving back home and I took her to Little Ceasar's and got us one large cheese pizza and we ate that. My Darling is walking our subdivision with one of her friends... I was going to drink a Yuengling but just didn't. I have showered and shaved and will hit it shortly...

I hope your evening(s) are peaceful and restful...

WAY back when I was a kid, we were poor. I took mayonnaise sandwiches to school for lunch. Actually they weren't bad.
